location by the park and zoo
not enough plugs, plugs for laptop are way onthe floor under the desk, Bathroom has bascially no fan and is a little small. No locking door.
Smart and fun stayed in a suite that worked great for us with and 18 year old son. The hotels restaurant very good and roof top bar hip crowd made our one night stay easy.
Pleasant and very considerate staff! Great location for safety and enjoying Chicago! We loved theLincoln Park neighborhood! The rooftop lounge was very cool. Thanks for a great experience.
The J. Parker rooftop lounge
Friendly staff. Classy hotel. Fun, convenient location.
food, roof top bar/resto, location,
2 bathrooms in room. no water bottles
Good bus connections to downtown and other areas. Fantastic (pricey) restaurant in the hotel. Very small rooms but charming hotel with great roof terrace! Very friendly staff and fantastic baristas in the cafe! :-)
Small room, noisy door-slamming from other rooms, crowded roof terrace often closed for private parties..
Hip location and awesome rooftop bar.
The air conditioning was not working in our room.
Views of lincoln park, great location if you don't want to be in middle of city, rooftop bar has fabulous views of park & lake ( very popular but hotel guests get priority access). Wonderful coffee shop and restaurant. Bed &linens comfortable, good shower!
Room very small( but very efficient). Like most city hotels, you hear street noise. Paid a premium price for a queen size bed but it was a busy weekend in the city and we wanted to be away from the lollapalooza hubub (which managed to find us anyway due to the roof bar being so popular).
The J Parker rooftop bar needs a refresh. The surface & upholstery look tired. However, the food and service was outstanding.
Views over Lincoln Park Rooftop bar
Nice location, friendly staff
Noise from other rooms, slow WiFi, wait for the lifts
Breathtaking view, stylish rooms, great location. Very good restaurants for dinner and a cosy cafe for breakfast on the first floor. Staff is highly friendly.
Not much room for luggage. That's not a big deal although.
Helpful staff Great location Food
Great location. Trendy. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Bed was a little hard. Walls are a little thin.
rooms were very clean and our room had two bathrooms
roof top bar was too crowded
Bed nice and comfortable. Room quiet for sleeping. Staff friendly and hard working. Funky and fun art decor. Valet parking is professional.
Crowded lobby, and a bit of a wait for elevator cars. Rooftop deck open to general public, CROWDED, and even as a guest, there was a very long wait if you wanted to enjoy it.
The roof bar
I loved the location, close to everything but at a quiet corner street with amazing views!
Nothing my stay was amazing!
Picked this hotel due to close proximity to Park West theatre. The hotel decor was very fun and retro and theatre was within walking distance.
The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is in a great location, across the street from Lincoln Park and around the corner from Old Town. It is just two blocks from Second City.
There was nothing to dislike.
We absolutely loved the front desk staff. Wish I had recorded his name, but the individual who checked us in and out was outstanding. The call to the room after check-in was a nice touch that I have never experienced, anywhere else! The restaurants/bar were amazing. The location was unbeatable. We were in town for a wedding at "A New Leaf" right across the street on Clark. Decor of the rooms was charming, totally.
Room small, but I suspect typical of an historic hotel, as I have experienced elsewhere. Did not find a hairdryer in the room (but we did not call the desk, perhaps they were available?) The shower/tub could have been more pristine. I find this in a lot of old hotels, caulking could use a spruce, generally a little dingy looking. I did love, however, the sliding door! Price was high, but again, primo location, reservation made somewhat last-minute.
Great view with the lake. Close to Lincoln Park, zoo and Old Town. Roof top is very popular for evening life,no need for looking any other place. Decoration is fantastic and very functional. The cute cafe on the ground floor serves very healthy and delicious food and very good coffee. There is another popular restaurant takes place on the ground floor where they serve for breakfast and dinner. If u look for something more than a comfortable stay in Chicago, this is the hotel which u have to choose. As being an experienced traveller, our stay at Hotel Lincoln,Joie de Vivre Hotel will always be remembered as one of the best.
Location was pretty good considering there was a free zoo that's a walk away. There are some places to eat that are a few blocks away, if you don't mind walking around. This hotel has a very nice atmosphere.
Parking. It's Chicago so I was expecting to pay too much for parking. The only confusing part of my trip is that the parking for this hotel is also parking for the nearby museum in the park. The hotel offers a $1 off ticket but it's not much when you're paying $30 already. Public parking isn't free either because it's Chicago. I think the Zoo had free parking but I didn't look into it because it is quite a walk with luggage.
Glen at the front desk was really nice and very helpful. Our room on the 7th floor was quieter than I expected, which was a nice surprise being a light sleeper. The li. On park area is pretty and no E to walk through, when you're tired of downtown. Wednesday and Saturday morning, there's the farmer's market across the street with all sorts of local organic product. Really nice.
Lots of reviews comment in the room size. The rooms are very very small. If you put your luggage at the foot of the bed, you can barely walk around. The bathroom hardly had room to unpack essentials. If you're there for a week and like to unpack, get a suite.
