A rejuvenation center, dining options and views of the Chicago River are available at this hotel. The hotel is in downtown Chicago theater district, within walking distance of Millennium Park.
Score from 147 reviews Excellent
Hard hard bed. Staff gave wrong information regarding when coffee house hours. No doorman accessibility.
The location is near enough the city sights but far enough away in a peaceful area that it felt like a real vacation. We had a lovely view of Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park right in front. The rooftop bar is nice though the view is much the same from our room. Bus and train stops are an easy walk away. Convenience store and grocery are also nearby. We would also strongly recommend the Perennial Virant restaurant. It's a bit pricey but our dinner there was excellent -- food, drinks, service. Comfortable room. Generally friendly and helpful staff.
The bedroom and bathroom are on the small side. Mixed review on the breakfast at the coffee shop. The food is somewhat over-priced though the coffee is good. If you want more value-for-money food options, check out the vicinity map the hotel provides. We ate at Nookie's Diner (just around the corner) and Pancake House (a slightly longer walk but recommended).
Location, location, location
The rooms and bathrooms are extremely small - too small for comfort. Additionally, my bathroom door was glass so you could see the shadow image of the person using the facilities - absolutely no privacy.
room cleaniness staff
great hotel And the staff is second to none !!!!!
Spacious and comfortable room. Awesome location.
A bit crowded and loud at times due to weddings. Elevators were slow and small.
- location - well working wi fi - roof bar with amazing view
- not clean - undecent toilets - a bit noisy, thin walls
Loved the quirky design of the hotel. Lovely bed linen. Pleasant staff.
Location, Location, Location Staff at Coffee Shop were friendly & helpful. Bedding was good. Upstairs Deck Bar was excellant. View & Service.
Broken Shower Head Removed lighting without fixing wall decor and broken curtains. Unfriendly waitstaff did us in, they were just plain too snippy talking about guests in front of other guests, level of service varied by guest when you watched check in etc. Waiting 1:30 for a burger & Ice Cream Sundae from roomservice when it took 10 minutes in the rooftop bar for a slider appetizer on the same night. Then waiting another 10 minutes for a spoon to eat your Ice Cream with because they did not include one on your tray. Frankly I am picky for this pricepoint, and for this level of hotel service was poor.
Three days there was a smoker on my floor. I called the front desk twice a day for three days to complain. I found a air refreshing machine located outside my room door on the 3rd night. I was very disturbed by this. They staff offered to move me the first night, but the point that maintenance could not pinpoint the smoker's room is inexcusable.
Close to Lincoln park, it is easy to take a taxi, room is good and can see Lake Michigan.
No perfect breakfast, we don'k like sandwich, hamburger and pizza, It is difficult to find good restaurant, only take taxi to china town
Just returned from a trip to the USA. Our first 5 days were in Chicago at the Hotel Lincoln which overlooks Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. We had a 10th floor room with extensive views of the Lake, the Park and the Chicago skyline - the sunsets were spectacular. The bed was very comfortable and although on a main road we were not disturbeed by traffic noise. Lincoln Park zoo is only minutes away across the road and it was FREE!! Saturdays there is also a farmers market. The staff are friendly and helpful and although a bit pricey the restaurant has delicious food in nice surroundings. Buses stop outside the Hotel and it is only a short walk to the train station to catch the El. Chicago is flat and is easy to walk.
The location was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar was very nice.
It took me 15 minutes to get an elevator (there are not enough of them). Also, the bathroom does not provide enough privacy and the bath drain is very slow so you end up showering in 6 inches of water.
Location, staff, ambience. Fair value for Chicago, but there were disappointing features and we will not return.
Noisy old-fashioned air conditioning, no bar fridge in the room. There are much better bars within walking distance.
location by the park and zoo
not enough plugs, plugs for laptop are way onthe floor under the desk, Bathroom has bascially no fan and is a little small. No locking door.
Location is great! The staff are wonderful and friendly - always offering to help in any way possible. A special mention to Glenn at the front desk that made our stay a remarkable one. Since the roof bar is the "place-to-be" and as a hotel guest you get a priority on waiting, this was an added bonus.
Smart and fun stayed in a suite that worked great for us with and 18 year old son. The hotels restaurant very good and roof top bar hip crowd made our one night stay easy.
Pleasant and very considerate staff! Great location for safety and enjoying Chicago! We loved theLincoln Park neighborhood! The rooftop lounge was very cool. Thanks for a great experience.
The J. Parker rooftop lounge
Friendly staff. Classy hotel. Fun, convenient location.
food, roof top bar/resto, location,
2 bathrooms in room. no water bottles
Good bus connections to downtown and other areas. Fantastic (pricey) restaurant in the hotel. Very small rooms but charming hotel with great roof terrace! Very friendly staff and fantastic baristas in the cafe! :-)
Small room, noisy door-slamming from other rooms, crowded roof terrace often closed for private parties..
Hip location and awesome rooftop bar.
The air conditioning was not working in our room.
Views of lincoln park, great location if you don't want to be in middle of city, rooftop bar has fabulous views of park & lake ( very popular but hotel guests get priority access). Wonderful coffee shop and restaurant. Bed &linens comfortable, good shower!
Room very small( but very efficient). Like most city hotels, you hear street noise. Paid a premium price for a queen size bed but it was a busy weekend in the city and we wanted to be away from the lollapalooza hubub (which managed to find us anyway due to the roof bar being so popular).
The J Parker rooftop bar needs a refresh. The surface & upholstery look tired. However, the food and service was outstanding.
