Staff was fabulous and so helpful!
I stayed in the older section and there was no deadbolt, chain, or flip bar to lock the room from the inside. While I understand that the door locks automatically, it made me uneasy to have a hotel room door open directly to outside and not have those security features.
We loved the spacious bedrooms (1 for my husband and I and a bigger one when our son joined us later on). Great attention to detail, such as fridge in the bathroom. The whole staff was very nice and helpful.
Nice big room with comfortable bed
Wifi was very patchy.
great facilities and food at ng-conf; nice fitness center with the pool, hot tub, and sauna; very nice main building; convenient location.
When we first noticed very bad noise in the air ducts, the repairman suggested that we turn off the heating. Which worked fine until someone moved in the room above. All last night about every 10-30 min the noise was terrible. Like an unbalanced washer machine rattling wildly until it comes to a stop. I complained to the staff before leaving very early next morning. Have not heard anything back.
Good location, nice lobby.
Small bathroom, dated furnishings, walk up outside rooms, no business center, semi friendly staff.
The food was very good and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were a very good size and very clean.
We had a ground floor that was a very long distance from the lobby, coffee shop, etc. and we had to lift our luggage up and down the stairs. Also, we felt it very unsanitary that people were allowed to walk their dogs through the lobby and allowed to bring them into the restaurant and coffee shop.
Love this hotel. Best in Salt Lake City UT
Coffee shop was very good for breakfast, except if you need to leave before 6 am. It should open by 5 am, even in the winter months. My workday doesn't change with the seasons.
I didn't realize I would be staying in the renovated "motel" next to the "tower". While the comfort was fine, being a single female traveler, I was very concerned about my safety. I saw no security on the grounds. Of particular concern to me was there was no way for me to secure the room door other than the standard deadbolt which opens when a housekeeping key is inserted in the standard outside lock. I would have expected at least a chain safety lock. Perhaps guests are expected to shove a chair under the door knob for piece of mind?
Cleanliness of room and location of property were great.
Room was a little hard to find as we were not in the tower. The numbers are hard to see and system is confusing. Some issues with the rate.. it changed after we checked in.
The hot tub wasn't working. Wish it would have been.
Good location, walking distance to the best restaurants in SLC. Good pool and gym.
Street noise. Try to get an inward facing room.
Everytime you all exceed my expectations.
The outdoor pool and patio was beautiful
House keeping woke us up at 7am and again an hour later
Good location for car travel. Clean and renovated.
Renovated to mask old motor court renovation. Results in split personality. Adjoins modern hotel tower. I was shunted over to motor court without being given choice of accommodation. Don't know why.
Nice room. Very quiet!
Parking was really bad.
I liked the location downtown Salt Lake City.
I wish I knew there were different parts of the hotel. If there is a next time I'll book a room in the tower portion. DVD player 15.00 per night
Rooms were updated and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Staff were fantastic, lobby gorgeous, room was clean, well appointed and spacious. Bathroom was spacious. Shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. Could not beat location. Free parking, on the light rail line (inside the free corridor, which means if you can't walk the 5 blocks, it's a free ride on the light rail into the heart of downtown). Super convenient taking light rail to/from airport. Wifi had pretty decent speeds and was easy to access (not secure).
Exercise facilities were awful. Most TVs on treadmills were broken, iPod input jacks were not functioning, the one treadmill that had a functioning TV, had an out of order headphone input jack. Several machines were out of service and all machines were very dated. But the only reason why I won't be returning is that the beds (I had a room with two queens and I tried them both) were horrible. Cheap, hard, uncomfortable, impossible to sleep on. My back and hips are still sore 3 days later. It is obvious they are doing renovations on some areas of the hotel right now. Not sure they will be upgrading beds, but i hope they do. I could overlook the exercise facilities, but no sleep for 4 nights is a deal breaker.
The staff and maids were great.
I didnt like being woke up at 8 am by sanding and drilling in room above us!! So inconsiderate considering I paid 169$ a night. No warning or apology. Extremely annoyed and disappointed as it went on for 3 hours!!
We love the pools. The beds are luxurious. The shops. The pool shut diwn for the night, the only reason we came was to swim, but they let ya go to The Grand. That was fabulous. Thank you:)
We stayed in the outside tower and would have liked a robe to walk over to the pool...it was cold.
location, traxs, personal were helpful and friendly
would have liked a small fridge and a small microwave in our room
It was clean and comfortable. The cheap rooms were not a bad price at all but felt like a good 3-4 star place.
The housekeeping staff was super intrusive. They knocked AS they entered the room early in the morning on a Saturday morning and woke us up. (Check-out wasn't until noon. Why were they coming around at 8:30AM on a SATURDAY?!) Then the came back TWENTY minutes later and did the same thing and walked in on us getting dressed! Seriously folks. This is unacceptable.
Nice lobby, friendly staff.
Thought I had reserved a hotel room, in the tower. Instead I was sent to the rear section of the complex to motel-like rooms. Room was oppressively hot in the middle of February. Staff said the heat either wouldn't shut off or room remained hot. I was sent a fan to run in winter.
