The location was great! And the free bikes, beachtowels and umbrellas.
The rooms are really small and there is not even enough space to open two suitcases. We had a room on the ground floor in an alley which is open for public. We heard people walking through te alley in the night which doesn't give you a good security feeling.
Room and location
Location works. This was the only thing that was a positive.
Cost; bed was too soft; room was very small; no closet; the hotel also required a safety deposit, which I found quite odd; noises because of the busy street on either sided of the hotel; The main negative was the cost. We had a small room and it was like $320 per night
The front desk staff were willing to listen to concerns and attempted to correct. They have extra bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas to use for free
The first room was tiny for the price, smelled like cleanser and throw up, the ice machine did not work. Moved to another room for additional cost and that one smelled like the sewer!!! I had to bring the deoderizer I had in my car (thank goodness) to make it possible to stay in room.
updated bathrooms, tv, fridge, microwave
very noisy on the streets until about midnight
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
This is our second stay in this hotel. The location is convenient and parking is a breeze. The hotel offers beach cruisers, (even purchased some newer models this past year) chairs, towels, and umbrellas. Although these rentals are available on the beach, they can become pricey. Room is clean and well maintained.
When checking in, I heard a price being quoted by phone and it was significantly less than our rate through booking.com. It could have been contributable to vacancy over the holiday etc. Additionally, staff were inconsistent. Some were exceptionally friendly and some less so. Traffic can be loud earlier in the evening, but if you close the windows until this passes, it is well muted
Great location for Newport Beach
Room next to road do was noisy in the morning.
Very centrally located to everything on the peninsula. Access to bikes was awesome. Staff very helpful. Located next to a liquor store and down the street from a bunch of restaurants.
A good thing and a bad thing was that it was located on a busy street. Car noise could be loud at times. The cleaning crew was a little cheap on restocking the essential supplies (soap, toilet paper, etc.).
Had to cancel due to weather conditions and this hotel still charged us the full rate. The hotel staff was unfriendly and unreasonable.
You customers service is poor and the hotel rates are too high for their location. Had to cancel due to weather both in California And back in Utah has to come home due to weather issues and the hotel still charged the full rate. Very unreasonable and customer service was poor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
the drunk college kids getting out of bars 130 in the morning waking up the guests at the little bay inn
Very nice rooms. Good location.
High traffic close to rooms. Noisy guests in other rooms all night ling.
Room smelled moldy. Didn't provide fresh lotion etc. Didn't provide wake up call requested. Bathroom shower slippery no towel rack.
First of all the friendly staff! I had an issue with the first room and when I went to speak to them to make sure of their awareness he immediately moved me to another room. Nice as that wasn't what I was asking for. Room was clean and housekeeping took care of it each day We were 5 minutes from the ocean and 5 from the bay. It was close to good restaurants. We walked everywhere while there. Close to John Wayne airport so taxi was an inexpensive ride. If you just want to go and relax and enjoy the beach then this is a great location. We would go back and plan to!
Can't think of a thing!
location, comfortable, parking
tv remote it worked if you were a foot away from tv and not always then
This is an 18 room old motel style property located between the split one-way roads of the main route through the peninsula. It is also directly adjacent to a 24 hr liquor store. We stayed on a Sunday evening in late October and the traffic noise was still excessive. At checkin we requested a room remote to the noise - but really there are no options as the building has the main road on either side of it. At 1 am, for over an hour a motorcycle with loud pipes rumbled in the liquor store parking lot right below our room - seemed to be adjusting the engine timing!! The building is old and although the room has had a recent facelift, the overall feel of the place is 'slum-like'. I suppose there have been some destructive guests in the past as they feel it essential to hold a $50 deposit until the room has been inspected after check-out. We were hundreds of miles away by the time they verified that we would not be charged for 'damage'. In the bathroom the basin and faucets were new. However, the tub is old and stained and while equipped with jacuzzi jets we did not use the tub as we were not at all confident that the water lines and pump system had been properly cleaned since the last user. That left the shower... Which is pitiful!!! The water restriction was excessive causing the water to barely dribble out. As well, the shower head is very high. At 5ft.9in. Tall with arm fully stretched up, I could barely reach the flow adjustment knob - which turned it from a dribble to fully off. The noisy location, combined with the overall state of the property and the proprietors expectation of bad behaviour by their guests causes an imbalance in price for value. We have stayed at much finer properties for much less. We will never stay at the Little Inn by the Bay again.
Asked for $50 deposit not prior disclosed. Chrome plastic cups without sanitary wrappers. Very discussing! Could not tell if clean. Should be clear glass. Coffee cups with out sanitary wrappers. Again could not tell if clean. Had a coffee pot but no plug at counter. Had to put the coffee pot on the floor to plug in. No Decaf coffee. Only lights were at the side of the bed and front door. No light at the table, dresser or counter top. Cheap plastic bath mat again gross. No cloth bath matt. Only 2 bath, hand and wash cloths. Should of had one more set. Towels were worn. Load road nose during the day. OK at night. Free bike rentals except bikes look like they came from junk yard. Helmets?
Love, love loved LOCATION Room was a great value
Room kind of small
Close to beach
I liked the decor n location
Charged me 50$ deposit (?) waiting for them to refund me
Great place to stay! Will definitely be back.
Perfect location walk everywhere, also many amenities included beach chairs etc
"Free" beach cruisers old and rusty. Room very small and not like pictures. No mirror in room. No closet in room. Could only use beach cruisers at day. Could not take them to dinner. I expected more for 300!
