Score from 150 reviews Very good
- tennis court has no light at night - fitness center not 24hr
Dog friendly Nice rooms Great pools
pool location cleanliness friendly staff family friendly
nothing I can think of
checked in, and couldnt check out fast enough! headed back to the more agreeable Dana Point
- you need to drive to town to find a decent restaurant but the town is a bit clue-collar for my taste - the rooms are exceptionally tired and dated - overcrowded and soulless
Our family enjoyed our stay at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort very much! We loved that we could sail in the morning, shuttle to the beach in the afternoon, and enjoy a drink by the pool before dinner. Going to the beach was very easy. Everything was given to us when we got there, towels, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and whatever we needed! We were able to relax and have a great vacation! Thank you!
The weekend got busy. The parking is expensive.
Wonderful place with great customer service
The late night partying that happened on our floor. Very disappointing we did not expect that to happen at a high end place like this.
After checking in, the staff DID NOT take my luggage to the room. I had to take my own luggage to the room. The staff at the door where one parks was rude and not helpful at all.
The smell of my room, the dirty poolside and the bad tasting water in my sink.
I LOVED the location, the room was unbelievable, it was called partial ocean view but it seemed full. It was incredibly spacious and so beautiful. Has as much or more to offer compared to the Villa Coronado hotel but was half the price. We were worried when we booked it online that there would be a catch to what were seeing online but it was not the case. The spa with sauna steam room showers lockers and the fitness center were sooo nice!
It's a dog friendly hotel so there were as many dogs as families lol. It was totally fine though just unexpected. We came at a really busy holiday weekend and had to wait an extra hour for check in but they gave us free meal passes to compensate so it was nice. It was super crowded and lots of music by pool area, which isn't a preference for us for religious reasons but this is just personal preference. For people who like that then it may be great. They had outdoor dj and things. Families were there so not inappropriate or anything. Just not our preference. These aren't necessarily negative just unexpected things but still totally worth staying there!
The Bike Rental convenience and the shuttle services.
The bike rental services closed too early at 7:30pm. They should close at 10pm. You can better enjoy a bike ride and tour of Coronado and weather in the afternoon. The shuttle service space is limited to (7people) and the schedule is should be every 30 minutes instead of every hour.
Best customer services we have ever experienced! The resort was beautiful and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I hope to return.
Loved the resort, but all the additional expenses added up. Felt guilty for spending so much!
The bellmen, waitresses, maintenance, concierge and young lady at the beach handing out chairs and umbrellas were off the charts when it came to communication, welcoming, giving direction and overall first impression of stay.
I had questions/concerns with bill and room after we first checked in and spoke with manager. I don't know His name, but didn't come out to speak with me the first time and the second time was over the phone. He sounded young and was working on Sunday, 7/20 at approx 3pm. He was rude, patronizing and had no reasonable resolution and sucked the energy out of me in a 3 min call. He is what I would refer to as a duck in an eagles position. Fortunately your support staff changed my frustration around. Though the resort was beautiful, we'll stay at Marriott when we return as a family.
The location near the beach, pool, that valet was an option and not required.
That they promote the idea that they'll shuttle you to the town but every time we called to reserve a time the shuttle wasn't available. If you're going to promote the idea of a shuttle service make sure you have enough for guests or else what's the purpose.
old buildings and facilities.
Amazing location! Great access to the beach without any hassle! AMAZING VIEWS!! great for kids and teenagers but you never feel the hotel is over run with kids. San Diego's best kept secret!
We loved the hotel! My friend really wanted THE DEL but in the end was very happy with Loews -- and would return. The staff/room service/security were very accomodating with I lost my iphone (with white case). Although I was frustrated they were very professional and competant. Please tell them THANK YOU for me -- and let them know I found it in my luggage.
Price was on the high side.
I really liked that there was a lot of activities to do. I think the spa should stay open until 11 on weekends.
All the extra charges like parking and resort fee. If I don't have another option I don't feel I Should have to pay. In other words if I could park my car somewhere else but choose to use your garage because it was closer then I understand the charge but when I don't have another option for my car it's greedy for you to charge me to park.
Older property. Oversold and tried to put us in a room with just a pullout couch!!
I really like the quiet and relaxing location.
Resort fee for things I didn't use
Nice rooms lots of activities and tons of pool space
Pool needed to be kept up better during the busy days.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The view of San Diego from our room was spectacular! Silver Strand Beach is awesome.
Parking was expensive
We had been traveling from LA for two days and then to the Hard Rock in San Diego for two days and our last stop was two days at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort for the last two days. It was a perfect finish...The staff at check in was great (Marina & Mitchelle) the service and rooms matched.I would highly recommend this hotel in all phases 5 star all around.Free Golf cart to beach with towels, chairs and umbrellas nice pools and bar areas, great food. Fire pits outside for a sunset drink....Book it. free shuttle to town and a $4.50- 5 min water taxi to Gaslight district in Downtown San Diego My family loved it. wife and I 50 ish 2 girls 20 and 18. leaving and seeing all the other happy dogs walking around the hotel. We left ours at home in NY. Many pets never saw one pile of dog waste anywhere???
The menu of the restaurant's did not have enough choices that was enjoyable. Nor was there enough specialty drinks on special. Food and drinks were expensive for a basic menu. Also need more food choices at the market. This is a problem we felt since you were far from going any where else walking distance.
