Its convenient location; gourmet dinners, friendly staff; pleased to see that the elevators were finally in process of modernization there does not appear to be anybody responsible for constantly checking for repairs that need to be made, e.g.: broken towel rack in bathroom; flickering lamp fixtures, occasional sewerage odor from bathroom sink, toilet reservoir fixture that won't shut off flow of water. |

Our cozy room, the black-and-white bathroom tile. It was very comfortable and nice to come back to every evening, though the kitchenette was less than useful with no plates or utensils... The elevator operators, desk people and restaurant employees were friendly and polite. The manual elevators were quaint, and fortunately we weren't in a hurry most of the time so didn't mind waiting a bit for the operators. We missed having a dedicated concierge; the front desk doesn't seem really equipped or have the time to answer tourist questions - unfortunately, this is the one trip where we left the laptop home so we couldn't do our own research on restaurants and museums. (The young employees at the desk were always willing to look up the answers to our questions, though.) |

Rooms were large and king size beds huge and very comfortable. The manually operated lifts were fun and bell-boys very knowledgeable about D.C. All mod-cons were provided including wi-fi and flat screen tellys, but the hotel still had lots of character and a European feel. Would like to have had breakfast included in the price. |

Location is good, if you are interested in downtown Washihgton DC. Close proximity to metro stations. The staff at the reception was rude and not at all acommodating. The hotel overcharges the room services. Food quality not as high as expected and definitely not worth the value. Chef (s) in the restaurant not acommodating for particular needs. Overall it does not worth staying at the hotel, unless one is interested in the architecture of the building. Particularly, as there are a lot more choices at the same price range nearby. |

Excelent value for the money. Great room, great location, conviniently close to public transportation (4 min. from metra and circular bus $1/ one way ticket to Georgetown, Union Station) , and main places to see in town. Good restaurants near by. |

This hotel is really excellent in everything and close to the White House, museums, and to George Washington University. Moreover, there are professional employees at the Front Desk. |

The hotel was charming - a true "boutique hotel". It's location was great for business meetings, tourism and fine dining. The rooms were large and very comfortable. What I found exceptional was the quality of the hotel staff. To a person, they were helpful, courteous and fun! I will be back! My first night was in Rm 1105. It's a lovely room, spacious and comfortable. But it's proximity to the elevator shaft and the operating machinery on the rof above made it intolerable for me. It might not bother heavier sleepers ... On the positive side, the manager and staff were very helpful in relocating me the next day to a quieter room. |

All the hotel, the room, the decoration, the atmosphere. The elevator was cute, though a bit inconvenient as it was manual |

We had a safe and peaceful stay. Staff are helpful , pleasant and efficient. A centralised location and easy access to a lot of places in Washington DC just be walking. The whole hotel is too dimly lit. A bright and cheery coat of paint will brighten up the whole place. The floor creeks. |

We enjoyed the staff- elevator operators very friendly and helpful. Head waiter in evening very nice- . We like the location and the "apartment feel" to the room. Enjoyed the decor. We stayed in the King Suite and the master suite's mattress was very good but the pull out bed was very uncomfortable for my daughters (ages 22 and 19). Consider putting a pillow top on or replacing the sofa with a better mattress. We liked the fridge but would have liked a small microwave as well.- Kitchenette was pretty useless. |

Pretty good location. Generally nice place, with a certain old world charm. Good value for what we paid. Would recommend it. The bed was a bit on the soft side, for anyone with a weak back. Breakfast a bit slow & pricey, but loads of alternarive eateries within easy walking distance for breakfast |

This was a beautifully decorated comfortable hotel, full of character and excellent value for money. It was close to The White House and the Mall and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. My brother had a problem with the toilet in his room and it was attended to immediately. I would definitely stay here again if I visited Washington and have already recommended it to others. |
