The close proximity to the Wharf, Aquarium, Carmel, Pacific grove
The Hot Tub was not safe. It was too high to get into easily. It did not have but one hand hold and the tub was very large. Tub was not cleaned thoroughly and was slippery as a result. It could have used mage a small couple of steps to help you get into it. The bed was bowed on one side and needs to be replaced. Long usage can give you a sore back.
The beds were very comfy rooms very clean, and the property is well kept. I loved the fact that they had a fridge and microwave in the rooms. The employees are super nice. the check in was a breeze, about 5 minutes, and we were in our room. Great location to 17 mile, Carmel by the Sea and the Fisherman's Wharf. Will be back again someday!
Nice little place. Clean & quiet. Pleasantly surprised.
We were there during Concourse weekend. The night's stay was a little pricey, but then so was everywhere else in town.
Very friendly. They definitely wanted us to enjoy our stay and return. It was a little bit off the beaten path but only a few minutes from Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Some good restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy store nearby.
The clerk who checked me in was friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The whole facility appeared well-cared for and efficiently run. I would definitely stay here again.
The only minus was the shower, which could use a new head.
Large, cozy room Parking LCD TV Comfortable bed Big bathroom Cleanliness Friendly owners Nice location to visit Monterey&Bay area
No PC&printer- was not able to produce an invoice for my stay Bit expensive for a 2* motel
Clean nice staff safe area
Everything, cleanliness, location, front desk staff, comfort, absolutely everything!! We stayed here on our way up the coast on our way to Oregon. We loved it so much, we rerouted our trip home to stay here again. Wonderful!!!!
Nice, big room Kind staff
Nothing to report apart from the usual Californian excessive rates
The room itself was nice. The refrigerator and microwave worked great. Room was clean. We had a spa tub in our room, which was generously sized and great jets. We were a little confused as to how to work it at first, so we called the front desk and someone came to our room immediately to help us out! Great service, wonderful staff!
The TV in the room was quite dated. Also, the noise outside our room (people packing up and leaving in the morning) was a bit overwhelming at times. Lastly, the hotel isn't far from attractions like cannery row, but it's just far enough away for it to be a bit inconvenient. Next time we go to Monterey, we'll probably splurge on a room closer to cannery row and the aquarium.
This hotel is well priced in comparison to others locally and reasonably well located. Clean and well appointed.
No breakfast at that price is a bit disappointing.
We've been coming to the Lone Oak Lodge for years and the hotel is the first option we look at every time an opportunity comes to visit the Monterey Bay. It's always a great value!
Staff is friendly. Location not at all far from Monterey Wharf etc. Easy drive. Very clean & Reasonably priced which are appreciated. Restaurant Mundo's closeby. Good sandwiches to go. Other sit down restaurants very close by.
No views. (But those locations cost twice as much per day).
We arrived too late for check in and desk was closed but we rang the bell and someone greeted us with enthusiasm. We also liked the location, next to a sushi restaurant, Sushi by the bay, with the best sushis we ate in California.
A little bit of noise in the morning.
Front desk staff were very helpful and very pleasant and cheerful. She had great tips for restaurants, and the owners told us about a special restaurant in Carmel (the Glasings). They recommended Grandma's Kitchen for breakfast and it was great. We had a room with a kitchen and everything was provided (coffee pot, microwave, gas range, fridge as well as bar with refrigerator).
The place caters very well to divers. They offer an outdoor area with a hose and large bin so you can wash off all your gear. Even better, they have hooks on the outside of the rooms to allow your gear to dry. They beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and there is a spa for a nice relaxing night. The staff is very accommodating and flexible. I had booked the place and later found out they offered a discount to divers from a friend. They added that discount when I asked without hesitation. Highly recommend this place!!
Good location Nice size room Accommodating staff Clean rooms
Shower is tiny
This facility is quiet and well maintained. The room has a microwave and refrig. as well as coffee. It's close to everything on the Peninsula. The managers are friendly and know the best places to visit and restaurants to recommend.
Central location. Clean motel and friendly staff.
Noise-Try to get a room that isn't close to the road. I like the window open at night but had to close it. Fremont Street is very busy with the sound of traffic and sirens and people were talking outside our room late at night, Inside, the refrigerator was loud and right next to the bed and I had to unplug it.
Very clean, friendly owners.
The wifi signal only reaches the rooms at the front. Wifi should not be advertised as included in the service!
Liked everything even the recommendations for restraurants. Don't stay anywhere else in Monterey Bay area.
It was clean.
This place was very overpriced. One of the most expensive places I've stayed in in California and by far the worst standard. I really don't understand the 8.3 rating at all. We arrived at 9 in the evening and it was like walking into a sauna. No air conditioning but not even a window open for ventilation. Very outdated decor and a musty smell.
I like the location of this place not nosy not to much traffic room was great DVD was a plus
The comfort of the bed was really bad very old mattress
Friendly staff, clean room, good value for money.
No pool, location a bit far from the village, but all the motels seemed to be located in the same place. Interior a bit outdated, but it wasn't a problem for us.
BBQ pits- outdoor sitting areas
no pool or air conditioning
