A great place to stay! We have stayed there a couple times and can't wait to return. Love taking our bucket of beer down to the firepit at night! We took a mini hotels vacation and came here just for the hotel. You will love it!
There is nothing not to like :)
Cleanliness, Friendly Staff!
The thermostat fan ran all night.
The retro style, look, and feel of Lonestar brought back all of the slow paced, relaxing travel memories from childhood. It was only myself & my 13 year old son on this trip & we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The fire pits, food truck, & rocking chairs outside made you relax automatically. Throw in "Jack, hotel house dog" and it was a great trip & experience.
Our only complaint was lack of employees, or security walking the premises after the night quieted. With us being next to the gym, I had to get up both nights of our stay to go turn the TV & radio off because of the noise level.
Beds were great. We loved the large refrigerator, fire pit, and snacks available. I would book this for leisure anytime.
If you were a business traveler it might be a bit loud at night.
Everything, great hotel with good selection restaurants close by plus great shops in the domain, all within walking distance. Short drive to downtown area. Loved it!
The rooms were clean and spacious, as were the towels. The complimentary breakfast was tasty; however, I wish the wedding party's omelet makers came with the complimentary breakfast.
The sound proofing between the rooms was minimal. I could hear the football game and cheers from my neighbor's room. I wish there was a hot tub to go along with the kidney pool and I wish could have walked to breakfast under the awning without getting drenched by the morning rain.
Comfortable bed Nice, large bathroom Best feature: the retro fridge!
Buffet breakfast, hot food was cold.
Quirky, fun decor. Ibrahim at front desk was very good.
Duvets. Hate them. Unless you are up north in winter I think they are too hot to sleep with.
Loved everything! Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
once inside the hotel it felt like you were in an enclosed getaway and not like you were inside a shopping center. However, the shopping center being right next door was great.
The atmosphere, the theme
Our reservation from booking.com did not come through until late night. The clerk was kind enough to let us stay anyway. The next morning the new clerk tried to charge us full price. I don't think the hotel likes using booking.com
Contemporary meets Western: Different, comfortable, several interesting things to do. My second stay since I loved it so much the first time. Good for business meetings, families, or young people. Loved being next to the Domain where you can eat and shop.
Lots of things to do within walking distance at the hotel. Getting an early check in was a breeze.
The key cards didn't work right . The freezer in the mini bar was frosted over so bad we couldn't get any ice. The walls are very thin because you constantly heard voice. The water was so hot I almost got burned taking a shower and it was like there was no cold water. The place just seemed dusty.
Loved the styling and design of the rooms and courtyard.
We read lots of complaints about the wifi- but had no problems at all. Great comfortable room, beautiful landscaping, free music in a great site.
This place shocks on different levels. You see it online and you note a place in the fashion of the motor lodges of the 50s. Then you get there and you see a mall as you round the bin. You feel a little duped. Then you get there and you're greeted warmly and you note the place and the decor and you realize it's just as amazing as ever AND you forget all about the shopping mall. Then you get to your room with the modern retro vibe you wanted and you're excited again. Then you make the mistake of lying on the bed and your body says OMG as it hugs you abs your head sinks into one of the best pillows ever. Pool? Super. Breakfast? Wish it was a little more variety but decent if you like heavier bread based options. Noise level? Next to none. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
Breakfast needs more light options and less breaded things.
This review is not to air my opinion for accolades and personal opinions about shower heads and baseboards. It's a simple and straight forward review of a very unique hotel property that is a very nice change of pace from what's out there. The hotel is a fun concept and I loved my short stay. You too will enjoy it. It feels like urban camping with a super comfy bed and a change from the bog-standard rooms at every single hotel…everywhere even by boutique hotel standards. It's a welcome change. Well done Lone Star. Keep it moving!
The decor was great. Staff was friendly.
No fitness center. Breakfast could be abit healthier.
Great combination of styles - Retro chic, Funky, almost resort like.....
Atmosphere, pool area, decore
Beautiful grounds Rocking chairs on porches Outside entrance to rooms No hotel lobby Comfortable beds/rooms
Breakfast was lacking protein options that weren't meat Air conditioner fans were very noisy Guests were very noisy Plumbing drips all night long Hair dryer cords too short
Unique hotel. Very clean. Wonderful staff.
Location. Retro theme. Community feel. Continental breakfast was pretty good but they were short staffed and some items were not available (i.e. fresh cut strawberries).
Our two double beds were small. In between twin & double. Although not uncomfortable, the beds seemed "a way to cut costs" for the hotel and were not the quality beds you would find in similar hotels. Lighted make-up mirror in bathroom did not work. Internet sketchy. More than we would normally pay for this type of room.
Loved the modern retro decor in the room (especially the vintage style refrigerator). The food truck out front (Feed Store) and the barn like restaurant/bar (Water Trough) were nice touches too.
The style of the place. So cool- every detail was thought through.
Location was a bit strange in the mall but it was eye opening.. interesting example of mixed use zoning
