Great location and character
The location and neighborhood Reception and Staff The kitchen and sitting areas were perfect for meeting other guests
lovely home, in a lovely setting. Upgrades beautifully done in keeping with the period of home.
that i had to leave!
Great value in a great location.
I have a son attending BC and we were looking for a place close to campus. It was warm and quaint.
The bathroom was good, the fact it was modernized, air conditioning in room major plus, free parking , helpful staff once we located them ! Convenient location. Liked the fact it had a kitchen.
Was not quite what I expected. Not a b& b but not quite a hotel. Found it a bit expensive for what it was . Would stay again if I could not get other choice nearby
Well-equipped kitchen; lovely sun deck; lots of common sitting rooms; helpful knowledgeable staff; close to transit and shopping; well-kept old interiors with modern update.
No elevator so we schlepped our heavy luggage up three flights; next time we'll just travel lighter.
Nice old style inn, located near Brookline's trendy Coolidge Corner and walking distance to Museum of Fine Arts and, most importantly, Fenway Park. Free parking, free WI-FI, quiet neighborhood -- where else do you get that in Boston? About two blocks to the T for further excursions.
There was nothing not to like about the accommodations or location.
While I say the location was good rather than excellent, I only say this because it's a bit of a subway ride into downtown to the tourist sites, but it is in a beautiful, safe neighbourhood, which we enjoyed just the same.
Room, which was located in a converted basement, was old, tired and not it for habitation. The reviews in Booking.com must have been for rooms elsewhere in the building.
I like staying in houses compared to hotels and this was perfect.
It was a bit hot in rooms where AC should have kept it cooler. My room's AC was just fine.
Great value. Very modern amenities. Perfect location. Free parking, off-street.
Extremely convenient location for visiting Fenway, and easy to catch public transport to explore the rest of Boston. Longwood Inn itself had a lot of charm and all the amenities we needed - the use of the full kitchen would be nice for longer stays, especially with the Trader Joe's down the street. There were also laundry facilities on premise, and comfortable places inside and out to lounge and relax. The park right out the back door was beautiful and had trails for running or walking. There's plenty to do in the neighborhood, with a number of restaurants and more close by.
Parking on the premises was free. There was a coin operated laundry room on the premises. The bath room was very good.
The room was small. No place to leave an open luggage. The air conditioner was located poorly. It was under the desk and blew on the one side of the bed and made use of desk uncomfortable. There was no elevator. There was no refrigerator nor microwave in the room. (There was a common kitchen.). The common areas including the lobby were not air conditioned. Getting into the hotel at check-in required dealing with three doors, two of which were very heavy and hard to keep open. There was no one available to help with luggage. The restaurants and subway stops were about a half mile away, going either up or down hill. The staff at the front desk was not that helpful. Asked what type of restaurants were there got a response like "I don' know as I do not eat there." Or how much is the subway "I do not know because I do not ride the subway." One day we left our room by 9:30 AM. When we returned after 4:00 PM, it had not be straighten up. When the same unresponsive male clerk was told, his response was "I will see if the cleaning personnel are still here." The room was then straighten up but the floor carpet was not vacuumed.
Great location to mass transit and Fenway. Clean room, nice staff, free parking.
What a great little Inn, Walking distance to the Subway trains, which took us to the Bus and Train Stations. Walking distance to great places to eat and shop.
Charming street location and building. Quiet zone from the hubbub of Fenway Park, delightful contrast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tastefully decorated, cup of coffee on the back patio early morning. Free, convenient parking. What else is there?
Staff was wonderful and the area is beautiful and close to metro.
Close to the Green Line T-station and easy access to shops and restaurants
1. The air-conditioner in the room is very loud.
It's really a good alternative for cheap inns near longwood medical area.
Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful little hotel, very close to subway station, great area, clean and comfortable room
no elevator, so we struggled with our big bag up to the 3rd floor - but it wouldn't deter me from staying again
I loved the full kitchen. Being able to prepare my own breakfast and dinner for my family made it feel more like home. The staff was very friendly and the location is perfect for anyone with kids. There's a giant park right near by and Fenway park is within walking distance also. We all enjoyed our stay!
We were BARELY greeted by Barbara..too busy texting...cramped room (#35)...low slanted ceiling...poor management staff..staff was using the guest dryer which made our job that much more difficult
The Inn was adorable.
How nice it was and how close to Fenway we were
