Hotel was regal, had two weddings on while we were there. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Close walk to train station. Large bedrooms. Roof top is awesome for views. Breakfast was pretty good. Close to subway and 7/11 and pharmacy. Very clean.
Walls are paper thin so if you get a noisey neighbour could be an issue, otherwise great place to stay.
The hotel was perfect for our wedding night following our wedding at Walt Disney Concert Hall. They upgraded us to a suite which was a wonderful surprise. We loved the historical, "Mad Men" feel of the hotel. Our first time staying but won't be our last!
Breakfast was great, but staff was a bit rude.
Location,Comfort,cleanliness,value for money
the fitness facilities and restuarant are excellent.
They gave me an accessible room without telling me. I am not a fan of roll in showers but I checked in so late I couldn't bother to switch. Room was very dark.
Stayed in room where Charlie Chaplin stayed. great facilities.
Windows were thin. Need noise proofing.
The gym was really nice.
great place and services breakfast enjoyable atmosphere fantastic comfy bed friendly staff
that i could not stay longer!
Fabulous bar, good sized bedrooms and accommodating staff. Great fitness opportunities if that's your thing.
The hotel is very dark and lobby area is a little tired and not as welcoming as the rest of the hotel.
room, breakfast, athletic facilities(very big gym, swimming pool, various classes, whirlpool)
downtown area, a lot of homeless people
The beds were beautifully comfortable and the rooms were well decorated. Despite being in downtown LA, there was no street noise and we were very happy with our stay. The gym facilities are second to none as you have full use of the LA athletics club. Very close to a train station and very easy to get in and out of Hollywood.
The homelessness was visible in the hotels location, however we were never bothered and felt very safe. Very minor problem
Loverly surroundings nice room.service was second to none . restaurant waiting staff were excellent.
paid for a Deluxe King room and we were upgraded gratis to a King Suite, which was perfect for our 3some sexy antics… ;)
the top sheet could have been as soft as the bottom, other than that no dislikes…
Breakfast , wood in the hotel, pool
great location free wifi
too dark need more staff
Helpfull staff, nice location for business, good for sport activities
Beeakfast was really bad and poor
Atmosphere old fashioned with modern bedrooms. Great breakfast. Loved the sporting memorabilia in the bar and dining area. Great Peruvian restaurant nearby.
The sport facilities
The hotel room itself was nice and dark and I was very grateful for the air conditioning. The staff was courteous and helpful and we were well taken care of. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The location of the hotel was excellent and we were able to enjoy visits to many businesses nearby. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the roof was breathtaking. I will definitely consider staying there again if the need arises.
The bathroom was not as up to date as the room itself and would have benefited from a fan to drown out bathroom noises. The parking garage was difficult for me to find as a first-time visitor. My girlfriend would have preferred firmer pillows and there was one elevator that was rickety and made her nervous. But those were minor complaints in the grand scheme of our trip - we enjoyed our stay regardless.
The room is big, clean and athletically comfortable. The location is strategically convenient to go anywhere in Los Angeles.
The choice of the breakfast is not that much.
The location and price is great if you want to visit an event at the Staples Center. We walked each day except once. Cab fair was less than 10.00 to the Staples Center. There was fast food in the walking area, 7 Eleven and a Ross Department Store if you forget something. The breakfast was great and they had the freshest fruit.
I didn't like the fact there were low lighting. As a woman preparing for events, it is hard to see yourself. Also, they put the extra tissue in the closet which is no where near the bathroom. The bathroom was very tight and the there is no fan to clear the windows.
Loved the building, design everything will stay again
No mirror in the room hard for two of us to get ready. Only mirror was in the restroom.
Location Nice size room Great view Breakfast Helpful Staff
Bathroom $20 Parking Fee
Wonderful hotel....it was like something out of the last century, wood panelling, library ad really elegant. The athletic side looked really good but we did not use any of it. The rooms maybe a little dark for some people but it was very comfortable.
Unfortunately it wasn't in the best area and as such we did not leave the hotel in the dark except by car, however the hotel was a little refuge and very nice atmosphere plus the car park was adjoining so no need to leave the hotel.
Location and staff were excellent
The beds were old and soft
I loved the location and the atmosphere. The building and its restaurants are lovely. You have a gem at the front desk. He is an older man who uses a cane. He was so thoughtful and helpful. I think the misfortune I experienced with the bad shower and the room that was not cleaned were probably not what most people experience at your hotel. I think I would stay there again while visiting my son who lives nearby.
I had a room with an overflowing shower, asked the front desk to check on fixing it but no one did. Later, a kindly older gentleman with a cane went himself to get me extra towels to absorb all the water and a package of coffee for the morning since no one had even cleaned my room when I left for 8 hours! He later called and offered me a different room. This room was lovely but had poor reception so I could not enjoy the company of the TV.
