Staff was wonderful and helpful. Ernie checked me in, and made my day with his wit: he is charming Complimentary breakfast was good with variety of healthy foods and gracious staff Location worked well in the heart of dowtown
A bit pricey
Everything - great room and one of the best value for money hotel bars we've ever been in. great range of TV channels and superb gym facilities.
We come to LA with low expectations from the city; the great location of the hotel in Downtown was the best in this city. The hotel is amazing designed, with attention to the last detail. We ordered the standard room, but due to our wedding anniversary the very king stuff upgrade our room to a suit, with double room. The bed was big and comfortable. The room was clean and with great view to the downtown. 10 minute walk from the metro, and close to the local super and great restaurants.
The bathroom is great, but little bit Obsolete relative to the high standard of the room. But also very clean.
Everything was beyond expectation!! Food, room, facilities and...downtown!! Room service awesome and all the stuff was more than friendly!! For sure i will visit them again!!
The room, the facilities and the breakfast.
I was not there long enough!
Swimming every morning, club members very friendly and interesting to talk to. Nice quiet bar. Roof top oasis. Matresses high quality, good sleeps. Unlike most other hotels in LA, you can just walk out your front door and spend the whole day in the 'hood.
Need to plan for traffic when you are going out in the car, but that is the usual LA experience
Rooms were spacious Hotel was very elegant and traditional. Found excellent sports coverage channel on bedroom TV which suited my husband, Delicious complimentary breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. Staff very helpful.
Rooms were quite dark. Hotel was an oasis in area which although convenient as base for sightseeing was a little uncomfortable to be in at night.
Nice staff members, good breakfast, spa, swimming pool, sport training sessions and big library. The them of the hotel is sport with old English design woody and stuff. Old hotel but really clean and have maintenance regularly so no worries.
At evening in the athletic club floor you can't wear shorts since it's a club meeting they wanna make it bit classy
Absolutely everything - just a fantastic hotel with fantastic facilities and outstanding staff.
A suite! Really more than we needed for an overnight stay between Amtrak trains. Breakfast was delicious and well done, much variety. The club is full of history and ambiance.
No hot water in shower. Engineer came quickly to check on it, but we already had taken our quick showers. No shuttle service to Amtrak. Took subway to club...not recommended...took taxis back to Amtrak $10..much easier. Remember the $30 hotel tax for LA when booking.
Excellent gym and spa facilities. I also got upgraded to a suite. Good breakfast.
Newly remodeled. Classy interior design, and COMFORTABLE bed. Loved using the exercise bike in our room. Incredible pool. (Workout areas and shops still under remodel.) Beautiful banquet room. Free breakfast with good selections. Very nice staff. In-Out privileges for parking garage (only $20 for parking). Close to Dodger, Lakers/Clippers, music/theater venues. Across the street from Jewelry Marts, close to financial district, garment district and more. Close to freeways. GREAT for sports fans - lots of photos, statues, banners, cool sports memorabilia. Definitely will return.
Location. Downtown L.A. is dirty and needs a concerted effort to clean it up. They're trying to make the redevelopment happen, with a few more LIVE/WORK/PLAY areas, but progress is slow. The hotel is in Central L.A., but dirty streets, empty buildings all around it. This part of L.A. is old and tired - THE HOTEL IS OLD, BUT REFRESHED AND BEAUTIFUL. Don't be afraid when you drive up to the Hotel, because inside, it's lovely. Staff uniforms could be updated to match the new decor, too.
Nobody to help with the luggage from the garage Dark, rather old, no minibar Cleanness not fantastic Lift and some common areas very old The definition of the rooms is only for advertising
Front desk employees were very accommodating and fun, too! Room was nicely appointed! The history of the hotel, and staff that takes pride in its history. Enjoyed rooftop lounge after concert at Dodger Stadium. Breakfast included was nice bonus!
Nothing to not like, except surrounding area is not appealing. I would not recommend this area for tourists wanting to experience LA. But, Bottega Louie just down the street and Dodger Stadium nearby made it a perfect stay !
Rooms were large and nicely decorated! If you are working out this place also has a great gym.
Shower was a little basic, but not bad. Don't be fooled by the lobby the rest of the hotel is great.
Hotel was regal, had two weddings on while we were there. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Close walk to train station. Large bedrooms. Roof top is awesome for views. Breakfast was pretty good. Close to subway and 7/11 and pharmacy. Very clean.
Walls are paper thin so if you get a noisey neighbour could be an issue, otherwise great place to stay.
The hotel was perfect for our wedding night following our wedding at Walt Disney Concert Hall. They upgraded us to a suite which was a wonderful surprise. We loved the historical, "Mad Men" feel of the hotel. Our first time staying but won't be our last!
Breakfast was great, but staff was a bit rude.
Location,Comfort,cleanliness,value for money
the fitness facilities and restuarant are excellent.
They gave me an accessible room without telling me. I am not a fan of roll in showers but I checked in so late I couldn't bother to switch. Room was very dark.
Stayed in room where Charlie Chaplin stayed. great facilities.
Windows were thin. Need noise proofing.
The gym was really nice.
great place and services breakfast enjoyable atmosphere fantastic comfy bed friendly staff
that i could not stay longer!
Fabulous bar, good sized bedrooms and accommodating staff. Great fitness opportunities if that's your thing.
The hotel is very dark and lobby area is a little tired and not as welcoming as the rest of the hotel.
room, breakfast, athletic facilities(very big gym, swimming pool, various classes, whirlpool)
downtown area, a lot of homeless people
The beds were beautifully comfortable and the rooms were well decorated. Despite being in downtown LA, there was no street noise and we were very happy with our stay. The gym facilities are second to none as you have full use of the LA athletics club. Very close to a train station and very easy to get in and out of Hollywood.
The homelessness was visible in the hotels location, however we were never bothered and felt very safe. Very minor problem
