The beds and pillows are AMAZING.The staff was nice and helpful. The room was very nice and clean.
I got the room on valentines day and my sink was overflowing with dark blue water (not normal color) and it leaked on the carpet & they kept me in the same room instead of giving me a different one, after a certain time they lock up the whole hotel because at 2 am after being at the bars I couldn't get into the hotel another guest was leaving and was able to let me in that way. the hotel from outside is very rundown. Does not look like the pics online.
I love the indoor big swimming pool, fitness and spa activities. As this is mainly a sports club, all you might need is around, including a basketball field. All the places brings you back to time and make you aware of the sportive glories. Very comfortable bed, great views from the 12th floor patio rooftop. You can sunbed up there among financial district banks skyscrapers. They have a very nice bar and restaurant as well. I also enjoyed the breakfast included in the room rate. The parking is 20$/ 24h but it's common in those places and is convenient connected with the hotel. I arrived around 19.30 pm and all went smooth. No crazy peopleon the streets, actually it was pretty much populated and lighted so no need to worry. The next day I enjoyed a 2 h tour around downtown highlights. For me was a great place to relax after a long round trip and also get me enough insights of downtown LA. I encourage people to try it for its history and facilities mainly.
--Friendly members and guests --Storied history on display
--No Room Service. --No way to press a shirt between 7:00 PM and 6:00 PM the following day. Request for ironing board declined. (Baffling.) --Given wrong directions. --Drinks poor; colleague joined me for lunch at Inventions and his drink was, well, awful. So was mine the evening before.
Bar, restaurant, service, price, location
slow internet access, limited room service
For those who wish to use the gym, pool and related facilities this is a great place. Besides that everything is good, clean.
Not a nice neighborhood
This private facility has a gym, restaurants and everything you would want for a business stay.
Very good gym, convenient location, comfortable room, good wi-fi and desk, competitive price for room and parking
Bar closes early, slow service in restaurant
From our check in to check out this was a great experience. We were offered an upgrade, and the room was spacious, comfortable and luxurious. Our only quibble is with the breakfast. It was surprisingly sloppy and unappetizing. It could do with an overhaul. Otherwise we loved our stay in what is now a really interesting downtown area. And, Bottega Louis is just down the road for great Italian food.
As we said- breakfast not that good.
Classy and luxury at reasonable price. Amazing complementary breakfast.
Everything that I wanted is there.
The feel and design of the Hotel. Awesome Gym!
The hotel is a fantastic mix of high end comfort, a fascinating history, and practical exercise facilities. Their community spaces are gorgeous. Nice sized room, finely appointed. Friendly staff and atmosphere.
I didn't have a chance to try the bar, as it closed early. Also, it seemed like a quieter atmosphere without much chance to socialize unless you're a member. The rooftop deck seemed under-utilized. Also, the bathroom was a little disappointing compared to the rest of the room.
The parking was right round the corner and very cheap. The breakfast was brilliant as was the bar. The suite we stayed in was amazing and the staff were so friendly in particular Victor who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
The awesome images of LA athletes from the 20s who must have haunted these halls. The great pool. The old timers coming to the club, mixing with young crowd, and the exec crowd who come for the gym or meetings downtown. It is absolutely unique.
Downtown LA is a bit spooky at night, but much better than it used to be. Some might whine about the fact that it is less focused on room service, or service of any kind. The staff are very, very friendly, but leave you alone unless you ask. This to me is a big plus.
comfortable bed, excellent workout facility and swimming pool.
Bathroom looked old. Lighting was poor, no room service
The staff was very welcoming. The history of the LAAC was really interesting. Loved the breakfast in the morning. The location was very convenient. The common areas were beautiful like a beautiful old library.
I didn't have enough time to enjoy the facilities.
excellent Service, good location and a Lot of sport facilities available
Carpark is so expensive
The rooms are furnished nicely with a luxurious, cozy vibe. Beds are very comfortable with frette sheets. Loved the turn-of-the-century bar and reading area. Amazing architecture and restored beautifully. Dark, clubby feel. Breakfast was great. Great value.
The bathrooms are small and old. They need updating to match the feel of the rest of the room. No concierge. Staff could be more helpful.
The breakfast wasn't as good as expected.
My room was upgraded to the suite with living room and a cozy bed. The bed is so comfortable and made our tied trip go away. The staffs has good service mind, even small details when we're asking them to change to battery on the candle lamp at 11 pm, the staffs turn in so fast with great smile. The hotel is nicely decorated with classic style. Breakfast is so good too.
It´s very charming and cozy...
The elevators and the TV system have serious issues that need urgente attention. Elevators are slow and break (stop) quite often and the TV simply does not work properly. There are plenty of channels, but none Works as it should....
The rooms were cleaned early, staff were very friendly, no hidden costs and of course gym facilities were absolutely amazing
