Basic accomodation but near subway. Good if you are out all day and just need somewhere to sleep
Room smelt damp and musty and was very tired. Breakfast which was included was poor and very limited and was eaten in the reception as no other space. Not really as near to Hollywood as I had thought but next to subway which was good if you didn't have a car
It is a perfect place to stay. It's very very close to a metro station. Very intimate hotel. The breakfast is really normal (cereal, orange juice, bread, coffee, fruits). The staff is very friendly. The free parking is a good option if you rent a car. They have a rent car option very close. I'll come back again for sure. Sometimes you can hear an ambulance far away but is because the children's hospital is crossing the street, nothing to worry about it.
Mmm, just something about the smell of the room. Nothing to worry about it but I think is the fragrance of the air freshener
There was works outside on the parking starting at 6:00 am...so you can't sleep anymore! And when you call to check with the receptionnist, he says: its normal !! What a shame .... Also the laundry smells very bad ! The breakfast place is a shame also...
When I woke, I had welts on my chest and back. I assume bedbugs.
staff was very good and very helpful
We only picked this hotel as it is one of the only ones to have a roll-away bed for a 5th person in Hollywood. The room we got had a separate room for the 2nd bed which was nice.
The staff members we dealt with were rude, not good at problem resolutions! Really unfriendly and did not follow up with our complaint. Let us walk away angry and upset over extra parking costs which were not mentioned to us before arrival, and not listed on the website! 'Set by the owner' apparently. Very shady. Did nothing to help us out. We also arrived back another night quite late, no car parks were left, I asked where can we park now, the front desk man didn't tell us where we were going, just said 'follow me' as he led us to a parking lot half a block away in the dark. Very frustrating. Also had to unplug the fridge as it was very noisy.
Second visit in two years and cannot recommend this hotel any more if you want a good location at great value for money. Staff really helpful and so clean.
Breakfast, parking and wifi included.
Room hadn't been cleaned when we arrived at 6pm although cleaner came to us when asked within half an hour so not worth complaining about.
Everything is ok Location and hotel
Wifi is very poor
bathtub/shower really needs to be replaced
The location of this hotel is excellent. Only a few minutes walk to the Vermont/Sunset Metro station. His hotel also has free parking for 1 car per room. This hotel is also excellent value and include a basic breakfast. The rooms were also comfortable and clean and the hotel boasts a very pleasant pool area. I would strongly recommend this hotel.
The breakfast was very basic with just toast and a couple of cakes etc and always very chaotic in the morning with everyone fighting to make their own toast.
Convenient location for the trip.
You could hear the upstairs room as they walked and floor noises. Very untimely while trying to sleep.
It was a bit expensive and it was a shabby neigbourhood.
Location wise, it is a good place to stay. It is very close to the Metro station - a very convenient way to go to Universal Studio, Hollywood Blvd and other places.
The place is old and the room we were given on the first floor smells awful. Had to request for a new room as my daughter started sneezing but was refused. Excuse was - there's no more room, although there's one still to be cleaned. Anyway, request was granted after I said that we will only stay for a night and will get a refund.
location near sunset blv. & hollywood blv.
staff, breakfast room is too small, Motel without elevator
don't clean and much noisy.
Nice and clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location!
Location was good for both the metro and bus routes
Basic accommodation and a bit old fashioned
Location for sightseeing with the Metro on your doorstep.
The rooms are tired and really need refurbishment. What can't be resolved is the many homeless individuals in and around what is an oasis. They very much detract from ones enjoyment.
Location .. and that's it.
Very Poor staff in the evening, ok in the morning. Breakfast is crowded
Near to Vermont/Sunset (Red Line) metro station. Refreshing swims in the pool. Large flat screen Samsung TV. 'Mr Coffee' coffee maker in room with daily supply of coffee. Microwave. Powerful shower. Free continental breakfast with fruit until 9.30am. Free USA Today newspaper. Near Barnsdall Park (exterior of Hollyhock House visible although currently closed). Near DASH bus stop for Hollywood circular or Griffith Observatory Shuttle (Sat / Sun) - 50 cent fare. Near Metro bus stop for 780 to Pasadena and 2 along Sunset Boulevard - $1.75 fare. Unobtrusive daily housekeeping. Shampoo / Conditioner / Soap / Body lotion / Mouthwash / fresh towels and flannels daily. Possible to leave luggage before checkin / after checkout. Near Vons supermarket.
Only problem was that the room safe was locked on arrival and after waiting around for it to be opened, it was then impossible to lock the safe.
I liked the location of this hotel, if you have a car, it would be great. It's closed to Thai town about 5 minutes by driving and there are so many good Thai restaurants there.
The breakfast is not that good if you compare with the hotel price per night.
Nice staff, the price was ok
Sirens fron near by hospital, paper thin walls, poor breakfast
clean pool lots of parking good helpful staff easy check in close to metro
not so much food choice close by dated rooms
Everything! I needed a quiet hotel not in the West Hollywood but with a quick access to a lot of places, the subway station is 1 minute away and so are the stops for many buses (I guess it's useful to know for the tourists like me who don't drive, maybe don't want to drive on their vacation etc) and yes, the subway does work in L.A. :) Not as fast as in London or New York, but the Red Line station is just a few steps away. Really quiet, great location, close to Paramount Pictures, Griffith Observatory and a lot of Old Hollywood things...like cemeteries, for those who are interested in more than just Universal rides (which are cool too but la is not just that and Disneyland). The Getty, the other movie studios, like wb and Universal are very close by taxi, or in case of Universal just a couple of stations away. You can see Griffith Observatory from Sunset Blvd!.. The rooms are clean, hbo (:) the staff is very helpful with everything really, safes (!), just one thing, for some European travelers, I do hope to see a kettle next time..it's not that difficult. Some of us do drink tea! ;) Thank you for the amazing stay, the price was well worth the 3 weeks that I stayed with you.
Nothing..I Think I spend more time outside. Just like I mentioned before.. Kettles, please!
