Good location Easy parking

The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website. the bed was extremely uncomfortable. We didn't get a good night's sleep and we both woke up with a lot of back pain. A lot of noise travels through the walls. The space in the rooms and bathroom especially is too small. We will not return

The smell as you walked in was horrible and smelled of mold. The room and bathroom were old, small and meager. The breakfast was poor and unsatisfying. Everything could have been better. Very disappointing.

The location was perfect for walking along the shore to Monterey Bay and the Cannery buildings taking in an abundance of wildlife on the way. The hotel was in a quite location, clean with friendly helpful staff.

I like the location, across the street from the ocean. The double queen beds in the room were comfortable, and the breakfast was good. They need more room for breakfast outside of the rooms. When I asked the front desk if it was safe to walk the path to Cannery Row, they said that it definitely way. Pacific Grove is a very safe area. That made me feel good that I was in an area that I didn't have to worry about walking at night.

There was not enough room for walking around. Saying it is an ocean view was deceiving since we could see a little of the ocean in the distance but didn't realize we weren't right on the ocean.

The location can't be beat and the price was good for the area. The rooms (single queen bed, ground floor) are worn and very dated but clean. The staff was welcoming. The microwave and small fridge were great to have. This is a place to sleep at night, but not a place to plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

It is hard to conserve water by reusing towels if there isn't a rod for bath towels! The underground parking lot was dirty and isolated. We moved our car right away when a space opened up at ground level. Would have like to be able to use the window locks to leave our window slightly ajar at night, but they were fused by rust.

Booking was very easy! Staff at front desk very nice and the rOom was ready to check in early!! Very quiet at night!

I liked being so close to the ocean.

The facility was very old with no modern updates. The worst was the fact you could hear everything outside from the loud people at all hours to the person casually having a conversation outside your door. The price was expensive. The breakfast was subpar.

It was pretty clean. The two young men working the desk were very friendly.

Room was very tiny, bed didn't appear to be the size specified in reservation and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, very hard as were the pillows. No indication on calendar that roads would be inaccessible until after 11:00 am on Saturday morning or that we would be awakened at 7 am by the national anthem and screaming children for a Fun Run that was taking place. Way too much money for what is offered.

Staff made excellent reservation for a lovely dinner at a very nice restaurant.

Great location.

View window is where the access corridor to all rooms is, so not very private with people walking by all the time. Sink/vanity in the room, not in the bathroom. Have to close curtains for changing/washing up. Bed was too soft and very squeeky. Also could hear snoring and talking in neighbouring rooms.

Very nice location, close to the sea. Also within walking distance of Pacific Grove centre which was very pleasant (historic houses, good range of restaurants). Very friendly and professional staff who helpfully recommended a restaurant to us. Fair range of bread, cakes, fruit and cereal for breakfast. Overall I'm pleased we chose this hotel.

Although the bedrooms were clean and well presented the bathroom needed updating. The hotels in this area (including this one) seem pricey compared to the hotels we have stayed in further south on Route 1, which is why I gave a lower score for 'value for money'.

It's the staff that make this hotel. They are very friendly from the moment you arrive. I stayed here as a hopping off point before going through Big Sur and down the coast. The hotel is in Pacific Grove but is really only a stones throw away from Monterey and you can walk along the sea front to Cannery row.

Cannery row is too sanitized and touristy avoid!

The staff was wonderful, the location was great and the room was clean.

You can hear everything outside your room and from room to room. Very noisey. The rooms are very small. The bathroom was so small that if you are bigger than about 5' 10" and weight more than 200 pounds you would have to step into the bath tub to close the bathroom door.

We were very disappointed. The room was small/cramped. Wicker chairs in the room were uncomfortable. You could hear everyone walk by the room.The bed had visible sags and the mattress felt even worse when laying on it. We expressed that the room needed a new mattress upon check out, and the staff member just nodded their head and said ok. I knew that the comment would go no farther! This is not an "inn"; it's a "motel". The ocean view room really had more of a building/parking lot view and our room was supposed one of the better views.

Very friedly staff, location excellent, very nice place to stay. The beach was so clean, no garbage, just perfect.

There is only one small minus, we took one bottle of water from the room and paid it in cash when we checked out. But it was charged from credit card. It is really a little thing but....

The staff was very helpful and had great suggestions on places to see and great places to eat at. The room was very comfortable and clean, with everything you might need. Another nice touch was His/Her personal robes. It was a Great location that was a nice walking distance to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row!
