La Quinta Inn & Suites Secaucus Meadowlands  

I like to location which is very convenient to take the bus straight to Manhattan. It took about 20 mins to go to Manhattan and the bus fare is very reasonable and the bus is very clean. The hotel is ok for the money with a heated swimming pool which is what we wanted for the kids after a long day in New York. The breakfast is ok but at least my wife was enjoying it which was important for me :) There are many good restaurants nearby and the area is very safe to walk at night. It is a lot safer than I thought. I am glad we chose to stay in Secaucus instead of Brooklyn which we originally considered. I will stay in this region again next time we come down here. There is one thing I would like to recommend is to bring with you a GPS unit with the most up-to-date map. Without the GPS it is very difficult to find the hotel. We missed an exit and thanks to the GPS we could get back without any problems.

The fan made too much noise at night and we had to shut it down. However, shutting it down made the room a bit uncomfortable to sleep at night. This is something I would recommend to have them fix since sleeping tight at night is very important when travel since we always have a long day ahead again.

Excellent value for money. We had a party of five and perfect for us. We liked the seperate room with sofa bed and second tv. The breakfasts were great, lots of choice and very hard working staff.Location is perfect - bus stop outside the door, check in staff gave us timetables and fare info so we had no problems. All staff were very helpful and courteous even to some guests who I thought were very rude to them. Would definately recommend and would stay there again.

Breakfast staff were overwhelmed at times by demanding and rude guests. I felt embarrassed by some peoples attitudes to the lone staff member. All credit to them for doing a great job!

Comfortable beds and large suite rooms...all and all a great place to stay for a trip into New York City

indoor pool, shuttle service, easy access to bus into city, cheaper and better view then staying in the city, offered suites that work better for families with 2 tvs, microwave and fridge, free breakfast.

little bottle of shampoo that did not work well to get pool chlorine out of long hair.

I did Like Confort, Personel and Location

I didn't Like that a receive a e-mail saying that I had a charge for not showing up to the reservation and I did show up and even stay more than what I suppose to stay. I don;t know if I get charge for that but I will check and if I get charge for it will give you a call.

The price, free Internet, good breakfast.

The single bus ride fee from Port authority in New York city to the hotel for my family (4 persons) costs $15.8, which is a bit too much.

Great price, friendly staff and breakfast included. Great value. Place needed a little remodelling but was clean.

Rooms were a little worn

The hotel was very clean, staff very friendly, large comfortable rooms, very easy to get into centre of New York, bus stop just outside hotel, buses ran every 10 minutes and only took around 15 minutes to get to Times Square. Nice pool and fitness room, courtesy bus to local restaurants, shops. All in all very good value for money.

We are a young couple and liked the hotel. Staff always ready to help you. Location is very good, since you can get a bus and buy round trip tickets for the city, about 14usd$ for 2/round trip. You will get in nyc in about 20m.

The room service could clean the room better.

The easy access to a good bus service to New York and close proximity to an excellent Bar & Grill.

No on site dining facilities which we had been led to believe existed. During our stay there were three false fire alarms, two of them in the middle of the night on the same night. There was no explanation from hotel staff about these alarms and no compensation for a sleepless night was provided. The hotel seriously lacks a competent fire drill this allowed most guests to linger in the foyer until the fire brigades arrived. The Buffet Breakfast is adaquate but only a single 4 slice toaster that took forever to brown bread was provided. Room house keeping during our stay was basic to making beds and replacing towels. Soap was only changed when I requested it. I would still recommend this hotel as good value for money spent but travellers should be aware of the shortcomings.

Decent price for a place with a swimming pool. Great location for trips into Manhattan. Well-rounded choices for the free continental breakfast. Microwave and refrigerator in all rooms.

Rooms definitely in need of upgrades. Furniture was old. Multiple large stains on the carpet. Rooms smelled a bit musty. Televisions were dated and reception was poor. Blankets for fold-out bed were thin. Black-out curtains did not close all the way, leaving a two-foot gap. The 'Business Center' consisted of a single older computer with a black-and- white printer.

The staff were helpful, the rooms spacious, the link to the bus regular and easy although $17 per day return. All round a good option.
