The room was okay, kitchen was clean, dishes was ok. There was a market near to buy things
I reserved the noob hill suites, but they changed our reservation to the Soma suites. The location of Soma suites was very poor... Many homeless aroud the suites, it's not a good place to stay if it's the first time to stay in San Francisco. At night was not so good to walking.
The bathroom was large. The walk in closet.
Neighborhood was bad. No microwave, no icemaker, no air conditioning. The king size bed was pushed up against a wall that made it difficult to get in or out. The half wall that divided the room had a sofa bed, the only sitting area. The TV was on the other side and you could not see it. Someone tried to made a 2 bedroom out of a studio.
We booked the Nob Hill Suites months before our intended stay in San Francisco only to receive an email only two weeks before we were due to arrive that we coldn't stay there because they were doing renovations!!! Surely if a building such as this was doing renovations, they would have know more than two weeks ahead! This caused considerable headaches for us as the alternative accommodation was offered for 24 hours and we were unable to contact them by phone to confirm that we would be staying with them instead of the Nob Hill Suites. On arrival in San Francisco we discovered that the new accommodation was not in a nice area at all. We would defintely not recommend the Nob Hill Suites to any of our friends.
The location (actually on Market St as part of their SOMA Suites) was prime for my walk to Moscone Center. The apartment was newly renovated so it was in prime condition. Overall, it was a good stay, just way different than a typical hotel stay. I would do it again as a single/couple traveler.
The time it took to get "checked in" via moving between building lobbies, their "office", and then finally to the apartment took a while (about 1 hour). Plus, you have to cab it to the property (they cover it).
Comfort of the rooms, views .
Checking in was a bit of a problem, the main desk is manned but they have nothing to do with the apartment we booked, they have ring for the agent which took him a bit of a time to come to us. The location was slightly further out of town than we expected due to us having to be relocated due to renovation work on the original apartment.
Price was very good. view was superb. Staff very friendly and helpfully
Moved us from Nob Hill Suites to Mission St. SOMA location. Completely out of an area we were look to stay at. No AC
We were switched from Lumi Suites to Soma Place. The area of town was scary at night. With no A/C, our suite was never cooler than 80 degrees several nights, with the heat and traffic noise
Booked since March 2014 for September 2014. Moved to another venue August 2014, arrived at new venue to be moved again.....not what we booked, in a dodgy area and the bed broke!! Please please for the benefit of your holiday do not book with these people!
Excellent facilities and location. Very comfortable and staff extremely helpful.
The hotel does not exit. The hotel has been converted to apartments. They asked me to come to another add address. Then told me that they did not get my credit card details from Bookings. I was forced to book another hotel that cost me a fortune. I do not trust this set up at all and expect Bookings to do more background checks before they place hotels on their site! This is totally not acceptable
They informed me 2 weeks before our arrival, that they had overbooked due to maintenance problems, which meant me and my wife had to find a hotel in San Francisco very last minutes and had to pay way a lot more than half year ago! They offered an alternative, which was at the Tenderloin area(the scariest place in SF...), what we turned down. I requested a complete refund, which still not happened, now booking.com is also participant and I only can hope sometime I am going to have my 600 USD back... They are sitting on it for 6 months...Terrible service, terrible communication with the concierge and management, avoid these place! Booking.com should do something with them, cause I read a lot of similar negative reviews like our situation at this place!
Couldn't stay here because of last moment cancelling by the owners of the appartment.
Couldn't stay here because of last moment cancelling by the owners of the appartment. 1 day before we were flying to San Francisco and don't go to the alternative. We didn't because we read about the neighbourhood that it's not safe at all!
Unfortunately, it was only after we made our reservation, and our credit card was fully charged in advance, that we were aware of the numerous complaints on booking.com. Those complaints are exactly what we experienced: nobody answered to our email inquiries and phone calls, something happened to their system and it "overbooked" the apartments; other apartments had "flooding damage", we were transferred to another building in an area that felt very unsafe, with many homeless and mentally unstable people. We can only advise everybody to stay away from those dubious people at Nob Hill/Lumi Suites and avoid all that hassle we and many other travelers have experienced!
the last minute confirmation...
Minimal and clean design Great location Amazing view Brian and Dena are fun and warm. Brian is awake 24 hours and he's always ready to help and support the guests.
We arrived to be told by Brian VanderBes on concierge that they had double booked our room due to computer error so they would have to locate us to a different hotel. Although the hotel was nice it didn't have the view, kitchen facilities or laundry facilities that we required. But were told that was our only option. Being only a 3 day stay in San Francisco we checked with our 'new' hotel that payment for our room had been covered by Nob Hill - it hadn't and they were expecting us to pay (Nob Hill had taken payment in advance from us). We tried to ring the numbers given to us by Brian but there was no answer so we took time out to go back to Nob Hill. Katherine the manager was there, she said we had been moved because of problems with the water pipes, but assured us they would arrange payment that day (we were checking out the next day). When we returned to the hotel at 9pm we were told they had had nothing from Nob Hill and we would have to pay the bill on check out. So again we trecked up to Nob Hill and sat with Brian while he arranged for payment to be made and we had confirmation from our hotel that all was in order. We received no compensation for the stress, time taken having to revisit Nob Hill twice or the multiple phone calls trying to get a response from them. I'm sure the suites would be very nice but not worth the risk. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
After emailing nob hill suites to confirm the reservation I received a reply once I had arrived in San Francisco airport saying they had overbooked due to maintenance problems, which meant me and my girlfriend had to find a hotel in San Francisco very last minutes and had to pay way over the odds! My advice to anyone would be to stay well Clear of this place, they let us down and didn't tell us until we had arrived at the airport! Terrible service!!
NO GETTING WHAT I BOOKED!
The space and its design. Big bathroom. clean and a wonderfull WIFI.
I was in suite 2004 in Mission San Francisco, not Nob Hill. It took allmost two hours before arriving - we were transferred -to this different location from Nob Hill suites at Nob Hill. This was also further away from from my meeting centre at the Hyatt. The front door tells smoking is only allowed at a big distance from this front door - so outside - And every morning we woke up in the pungent sigarette smoke that entered our bedroom from the room nextdoor. It also made all our luggage in the walk in closet smell terrible. We still remember this room by our smelly luggage. Also the absence of a second fob to enter the elevator and building was a nuisance. Mission is also frequented by lots of homeless, drunk and psychiatric patients that make walking around feel unsafe.
The change of position at the last minute. They promise on the website something different, in terms of position and view. And the weak communication, they did not reply to emails.
When I arrived they accused me of not paying. When I supplied a receipt, they said they didn't have a room due to a broken water heater. They ended up finding a room at another one of their properties. When I received my credit card statement, they charged me twice. I've left numerous messages on the phone they never answer. I've sent email, with no reply.
Good location in San Francisco, close to cable car and bus services.
We were given a suite located at least 2 blocks away and got a suite with basic standard and the only view was the wall of neighbor block.TV and wi-fi did not work the first day. The bed was much smaller than a King size bed.
Position Modern Great facilities Helpful staff We were on 15th floor - great city views Transport
Helpful to have condiments, salt/pepper Bathroom a little cramped
The host was fun and helpfull
