Location is the only thing going for this hotel. Very noisey room. All night long the water pipes rattled keeping my wife and I awake. No hotel staff was available after 11:00PM. Walls so thin you can hear the tv in the next room. I will never stay there again.

Nothing wasput into room attack of motel. Room had no table , color of room was mustered yellow , had view of back fence , small room deltas closed in. Lucky we obliged to stay one nite .picture on web is deciving . I When I got there if it was possible to cancel and not loose $$ I would have left then.better motels In area. Sorry but people need to beware that facility is in poor condition. Gutters were broken and rusted. It say breakfast bu all they had was a few 99 cent pastry and hot water and tea or coffee bags .yek;(

The room was very well decorated and it was very spacious. The breakfast was described as "hot continental" however it was very basic and we had to ask staff to restock it as they had run out of toast and butter when we got there (the only "hot" choice). The swimming pool was ok but poorly located by the main road.

Location was the best part in being close to the Carmel Mission and restaurant for the wedding I attended. After checking in, s=there was never any staff in the office. The room had red stains aabove the entry door, base of the bathroom floor and other areas. Drapes had splatter on them and hook was missing in the bathroom.

We booked this motel for 2 nights because we wanted to visit Monterey and surroundings. We were happily surprised by the comfort and cleanliness of the room. We had à room at the back and were not disturbed by the noice of the traffic. à 15-20 minute walk would take us to Fishermans Warf. Breakfast is ok but breakfast area is very small with only a few seats. Great value for money. Would certainly recommend it to friends who love to walk. Astrid & Rita (2 sisters from Holland & Germany) The distance to the beach.

Nothing... And the parking lot was full when we returned from dinner! It was dirty, the lobby stinks and the rooms have dirty bed spreads and mold in the bathroom.

The price of the room It's locality to Monterey and the noise. It was a very noisy Motel with heating and other systems clattering and banging all night and the walls were paper thin which made sleep difficult

We stayed at the Monterey Surf Inn for one night as we were on our way to Big Sur. The room was very clean, the flat screen tv was great (although the remote did not work, and staff never came to our room to check it after we called the front desk). The microwave and decent size refrigerator were nice touches. Bathroom had nice tiled floors and granite counters. We parked our car directly outside of our room. The walls were a bit thin (heard water running and a baby from next door), but not enough to bother us. Great place for the price!! They even had a continential breakfast (coffee, danish, toast) that we took back to our room. Walls thin, fruit could have been nice to go along with the breakfast.
