Magnolia Hotel Houston  

I love the modern feel of this hotel mixed with the remnants of its history. The room was spacious and beautiful - the bathroom was so pretty with the big garden tub. I would stay here every day if I could!

Walking distance to restaurants and theater. Nice contemporary decor.

Modern renovation is quite nice but showing slight wear here and there. Worn wood, splash stains on walls near sink. Not a deal breaker assuming it is kept in check.

Friendly staff, big and well appointed room. Loved the bedtime cookies and milk and the complementary breakfast had a good choice.

Valet parking a bit pricey

The location

We checked in and 2 hours later had talked to 5 different people and never received our luggage which made us late for the event we were in town for. On top of not getting our luggage the front desk was terribly rude when we became frustrated over the time it was taking to get out luggage. We called room service on several occasions and got no answer and never made contact with them.

Great staff. Location. Rooms nice. Clean. Bathrooms. Linens. Breakfast.

We love the central location, super friendly staff, well appointed rooms, manager's hour, cookies, and big breakfast. They were very helpful in figuring out how to get to the airport while avoiding the traffic/congestion for the downtown parade. We plan to stay here whenever we are in Houston.

The elevators were a bit slow and it would have been nice to have some bar food to have along with the drinks during the manager's hour.

The staff was wonderful. The location was perfect, and the breakfast was great. The bed was comfortable, and the service was awesome! Loved the Christmas decoration, too.

Big room and the king size bed

Breakfast always scrambled eggs, potatoes and 2 menus of pork plus bread which sometimes just like yesterday's bread...........;-(( The room cleaning service did not put a new soap everyday, even when no more soap in the bathroom

I like the free wi-fi of this hotel. It gives comfort and simplicity of connecting all of my devices to the internet. I also like the location of this hotel, near to the metro station.

First of all, this hotel is very poor for its breakfast service. They gave the same menu for everyday during my 2 weeks stay, very boring. Second, the hotel seems so cheap with the toiletries. Sometimes we have to ask for soap at the front desk. You also have to bring your own laundry to the front desk. The service attitude of the personels is also need to be improved, they have to be more friendly and sincere doing their job.

I liked the modern decor as well as all the amenities.

I loved this hotel! The design, the friendly service, the extensive perks (free wi-fi; breakfast buffet; wine reception; cookie and milk reception etc.) all made my stay exceptional. I have been raving about how wonderful this hotel is to my friends and colleagues. I will definitely look for Magnolia hotels in other cities and whenever I return to Houston, this will be my first choice!

It was beautifully done and gave you a feeling of being warm with the color and design. Very neat and clean. Helpful when questions were asked about places in the hotel and city. Greeting at the door was great. Breakfast was excellent and well presented. The view at the top of the building was breath taking. Pool very clean and nice fittness room.

The Gym

he WiFi is NOT free !! It cost a lot of money for a very low bandwidth The free breakfast is very "sad"...

Die Lage ist gut für Houston. Das Hotel ist okay; wie alle grossen Hotels etwas unpersönlich.

Die Preise sind relativ hoch (ich hatte vorher für den den gleichen Preis zwei Nächte in einem Cottage in Alabama am Meer gewohnt - zum Vergleich) für das, was man hier geboten bekommt. Zudem fand ich Houston ziemlich langweilig. Ist eine reine Verwaltungsstadt. Besteht nur aus Büros und Parkings. Abends ist hier kaum etwas los. Ich werde ferienhalber sicher nie mehr über Houston fahren.
