Night manager was extremely helpful
Front desk personal were rude
Milk and cookie bar was unbeatable! Service was excellent. Rooms are just perfect, I didn't want to leave!
Breakfast was just ok.
Wifi was too slow
Staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Happy hour in the afternoon and the really complete and tasty included breakfast are a serious plus. Local shuttle free of charge - never seen that before. Highly recommended!
Major construction in the area so a room on Texas Ave away from Fannin is preferable. No problem with noise with the right room location. We got our room moved without any hassle at all.
Staff were friendly, effective and efficient Breakfast was adequate and easy and quick to get. (Quality could be improved.)
Small mistake in that the room initially given to me at check-in had the painters in it and I needed to be moved Swimming pools needs to be upgraded for depth and possible heating in winter. I swam in water at 49F That's cold!!!
No Wifi password was given
Location, happy hour bar Complimentary car delivery to restaurants etc.
Breakfast finish 9am. No cold meats, hams, fruit salad, jams, etc.No yogurts Saturday or Sunday Why? Room 1013 was a disaster. Water system roaring at 6am.each morning.Woke me up, could not get back to sleep. After 2 nights of this I was exhausted had to ask for room transfer, which I got. Im sure hotel managers know of this serious problem.Get it fixed.!! Was not offered any discount on my 220 $ per night room rate.My 3 night stay, invoice arrived on bedroom floor 8 a.m sharp. Payment taken without my consent. Very disappointed in breakfast given its a 4 star expensive hotel. Polystyrene coffee cups at B-fast.Very classy 4 star !!!
good location , quite and comfortable
staff unfreindly at all
The quality of the bed was first class
The breakfast buffet was tired, the valet parking lacked professionalism.
Perfect location and staff always very helpful.
Beautiful hotel & rooms. Bed was comfy & everything was clean.
Check in time was slow due to systems being down. Valet lost our vehicle.
I really liked the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Coffee, bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, and cereal. A great variety and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the lounge. They also had milk and cookies before bed each night, along with some happy hour times as well. Overall, it was a very grand experience from other hotels that I have stayed.
There was a lot of construction going on during our stay, however, that wasn't something that the hotel itself could control. Downtown development is always needed.
The hotel is at a good location in the downtown. You can go anywhere on foot easily.
The room I stayed has a kitchen which is good but there are no kitchen utensils even like kettle, fryingpan. These things need to be stored.
I loved everything the view from the pool was beautiful. A few parties had staffs attention but when you got someone they were amazing.
Valet was a little pushy but helpful.
The milk and cookies was great!
Breakfast was not very good.
Helpful friendly staff. Awesome milk and cookies. Luxurious big bed. Nice and quiet.
Great staff, central location, huge room, excellent bed, perfect bathroom.
Very slow free wiFi connection.
My daughter loved the milk and cookies offered in the late evenings. I liked the wine offered in the early evenings.
I was disappointed that the hotel shuttle would not drive me 4.4 miles down the street to the art museum. When the shuttle is advertised on the website, it does not specify that you have to be within a three mile radius. I only found that out when I checked in and asked about the shuttle. I had been excited about not having to find my way around, because, as much as I love downtown Houston, I HATE driving in Houston!
Everything except the elevators
Elevators were slow and crowded
The location here was superb. I was close to many restaurants and was even able to walk to a concert at the Houston Toyota Center. There were plenty of holiday parties, but they were well-insulated and the noise didn't disturb me.
There was some items/trash that were in the hallway for at least overnight. I don't know if that's strictly housekeeping's job, but someone should probably do an inspection twice a day during busy hotel days. That first impression made me a bit nervous to see the room.Thankfully, the room was extremely clean.
Reception did not give us useful information when we asked to go to China town and Galaria mall. Reception always said that you can take cab to go there，do not back again.
My first stay at the Magnolia. Lovely lobby decorations and evening happy hour was delightful. Free Breakfast Buffet offering was extensive, right down to salsa for the eggs. Encountered lots of folks who were using the workout facilities on the upper level.
The evening after checking into the hotel (and a couple of other times in my 3 nite stay) I encountered a VERY unpleasant aroma in the lobby. As a property manager myself, I can only presume that the construction next door may cause some serious plumbing draft issues. It will not stop me from trying a 2nd visit if the opportunity presents itself.
The rooftop jacuzzi. Happy hour
Soggy crackers with cheese platter. Inedible Sewage odor
We loved the location, price, and ambiance of the hotel.
Parking was difficult at times if you do not valet. We prefer to self park when we are on trips.
