Great breakfast, appreciated car service also.
THE BEDS WERE AMAZING ,STAFF GREAT
THE WATER IN SHOWER DIDNT GET VERY HOT AT ALL,BEARLY WARM
Loved the free breakfast and the happy hour! Staff went out of their way to help us.
Wonderful experience overall! Thank you! Emilia Los Angeles
-the bed -the location -happy hours
-the presentation of the breakfast -very poor breakfast for a 4 stars hotel -to expensive during the week
Everything, valet parking, reception, house keeping, breakfast, happy hour wine, night cookies with milk. Reception staff were very helpful and guided us to many visiting places, booked our tours and also booked our tickets for ousher show at Toyota arena. Thanks
Friendly Staff Breakfast Free Milk and cookies at night Very Confortable big size bedroom
expensive park, but all the parkings in the downtown are expensives.
Complimentary happy hour and breakfast is a nice bonus to a beautiful hotel. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. We were able to walk to our dinner restaurant, although after smelling and seeing the food at Magnolia, we almost stayed there!
re-adapted historical building. nice lobby, comfortable room/suite
BREAKFAST!!! far too few tables, guests had to eat on sofas with their plates on their knees. buffet was poor and always the same few items. buffet was very badly maintained too by unfriendly employees - ok, due to the circumstances the guests weren't friendly too. and breakfast until 9am is a joke if you're on holiday.
The smell - when you enter there's a powerful potpourri scent - I'm guessing magnolias. I get the point but it was overpowering and there seemed to be a musty smwell underneath it. I even asked if they'd had a flood.
Lovely views from room on 20th floor, happy hour, breakfast, valet parking, shuttle facility. Best hotel we have ever stayed in.
Couldn't fault hotel at all. Didn't like downtown Houston itself. Little to do in immediate vicinity.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Cleaners were polite. The room was big and spacious.
The Hotel was very clean and room really beautiful. But for a suite there should hv been complementary bottled water given daily. No bedroom slippers given and there was no creamer for coffee/tea. I want impeccable service but it fell short of my expectations of a suite.
Really enjoyed the location and rooftop hot tub.
Big room Comfy bed Free cookies in evening Near the flyinng saucer pub which serves loads of great ales!
Breakfast was a bit poor with lack of choice and slow clearance of used tables
Good Location Good Value for money
I was told my stay over night would be 139 but I was charged 178
The check in process was a little slow and the staff seemed to be a little confused. The happy hour did not have enough waiters/waitress to service the crowd. We asked for a menu to order appetizers and the waitress never came back with a menu. The bellboys don't approach unless you ask for help.
The ladies at the reception made very unfriendly, hostile, long faces and seemed not to be able to understand names regardless if you said or spell them. They very much gave us the impression that we were not welcome at all. It was the first concierge we met that does not like to talk. All in all very amateurish. Possibly they were undertrained and/or underpaid. A good management would notice these things and react. Also you should find out if booking.com sends you First name last name in the right order. They would find us rather by first than second name. My shower had black mold in it. All in all a sad disapointing experience.
Valet parking was efficent and friendly, as well as the shuttle.
happy hour, free breakfast
staff was mediocre, breakfast choices are better at much cheaper hotels, mattresses were like the motel 6.
Was comp'd an upgrade to a King Suite on 19th floor when I complained that our 4th floor Dbl Queen smelled of smoke. Spacious room, nice view. High quality toiletries in room. Rooftop pool is nice (small but clean and comfortable). There are pool chairs and view is very nice. Though they do allow smoking at the pool unfortunately. Fitness center is pretty good for a hotel. Lots of cardio machines and TVs with some free weights as well. Never any issues with wifi. Just have to re-signon every day. Valet parking always on time. Just text your valet ticket# when you want your car, they reply with x minutes till car at front of hotel. Daily evening complementary beer and wine 5:30-6:30pm was very nice. As well as cookies and milk after 8pm.
Breakfast is very basic. 3 cereals, instant oatmeal, white and whole wheat sliced bread, english muffins, bagels, butter, jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, one type of yogurt, half grapefruit, coffee, tea, bananas, some whole fruits. Quality of products is low. Only 1 computer for guests to use on 2nd floor. Checking-in and printing boarding passes is free, anything else $7 for 15 mins!! If you want to print Space Center tickets, just email front desk, they will print. Got the feeling front desk staff not that well trained. Service could have been more professional. Parking is pricey for Houston $24/day weekdays, $24/day weekend. You can easily find lots within 2-3 blocks of Magnolia at $10/day (include in/out privileges). Also, parking on street M-Sa after 6pm and all day Sunday is free and easy to find. Elevators can be quite slow. Especially in the mornings going down.
Complimentary breakfast, happy hour and cookies and milk at night. Free shuttle around town. The shower and tub were wonderful, too.
There was a lot going on at the hotel and they changed the dining and bar area 3 of the 5 days we were there.
Shuttle service was fantastic! Warm cookies were a plus too!
The cost was fine, comfort was great the breakfast was super and the shuttle did carry us once to the Toyota Center for the beginning of the Oprah Event
Staying at the hotel + paying $25 each car to park....REALLY! + We so kindly asked before booking concerning transportation...."No Problem, just give us a call when its over and we will pick you up where we dropped you off...We ended up walking blocks back. 2nd day no shuttle to/fro then valet tried to charge 1 car another $14 but we had already prepaid at checkout
I love the separate dressing area from the tub and toliet. The room was very clean and spacious.
I don't like being charged so much for the valet services. My husband and I had to drive separately and the charge for the parking was 48. That seemed a little steep. Also having coffee in the lobby for your early risers would have been nice. The stuff in the room is always too strong with very little creamer.
the view of the hotel and the coffee shop
