Conveniently located next to the the New Orleans French Quarter, this historic hotel is a gateway to the some of the city's most treasured cultural landmarks and attractions.
Score from 338 reviews Good
In a renovated building with a lobby featuring a glass ceiling, the Courtyard is 2 blocks from the New Orleans Convention Center. It includes a heated outdoor pool, a hot tub and a well-equipped gym.
Score from 125 reviews Very good
Ease of getting around with the three dollar/day bus pass. We traveled the trolley down St.Charles St to great restaurants .....enjoyed oysters at Superior Seafood. Walked Audubon Park and enjoyed looking at the homes in the Garden District, Magazine has a lot to offer now for shops and places to eat.
The location served our purposes but the neighborhood was a bit seedy.
The facilities were undergoing renovation, and it doesn't look like it will be completed in the near future.
I had made the reservations on line and did not know what to expect, and we had never been to New Orleans. We loved everything about the hotel. The staff was always so helpful, the pool and the hot tub was great, even enjoyed the breakfast area in the morning. There was nothing that I didn't like. Would definitely stay there again.
we really enjoyed the courtyard spaces. They were so relaxing and pleasant to be in
Right outside tram line, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely. Bar next door had good food at reasonable prices.
Good location, quiet, yet easy access to city on tram, good restaurants nearby, staff really friendly and helpful
The location was excellent and the staff were very accommodating when I arrived in the middle of the night.
I don't think the hotel staff were used to a full hotel as things were always empty at breakfast, no milk, no coffee, no orange juice. They were trying to fill things, but they couldn't keep up or they just weren't prepared for that many guests.
convenience of tram stop, $3 gets an all day hop-on-off pass, excellent way to get arround.
Garbage lorry arriving in the middle of the night - tooting horn to get access.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the location is unbeatable, and the facilities are lovely. Authentic and not sterile feeling, a true New Orleans experience. Pay no attention to any reviews that say the place is sketchy or felt unsafe. If you feel unsafe here, you should probably just not visit New Orleans, period. It is a great neighborhood and the staff is always alert. The beds are very comfortable, the pool and hot tub are lovely, and I can't say enough how wonderful and friendly the staff is, especially the ladies at the front desk. The value for your money is undeniable, and the hotel is per friendly too, at the very reasonable rate of $50 for the stay. I can't express how much we have enjoyed our stay!
The bathroom is awkwardly organized, and the showers only have half a door. Trendy and decorative looking, but not highly functional. Such a small complaint compared to all the wonderful experiences!
After reading all the negative reviews about the location, service, and the state of the hotel....yet we decided to give the Maison St. Charles a try. We absolutely loved the hotel. We've stayed in the French Quarter in the past, and our business will now go only to the Maison St. Charles. Staff was very friendly, the location is perfect, and the room we had was great. Honestly I don't see what the other people were whining about.
Absolutely nothing. The staff was great, the location was right, and the hotel truly captures the new Orleans flare.
Location, location, location! Did I mention location! Right in front of streetcar stop! Front desk staff was very informative in finding great restaurants, etc. Provided warm breakfast when we only expected juice and pastries.
Room wasn't very clean and stocked poorly (no shampoo). Pool needed to be cleaned.
receptionists was ok ,friendly.
access into hotel off st charles. unabel to close drapes ,light shinning in window. no extra toilet paper . had ti play with hot water to get to turn off in sink. toilet seat was loose and small enough for a kid. parking was to expensive not very secure . other than that it was ok.
well located, 10 min. by trolley to the French Quarter. Quiet place, comfy, with great and friendly staff very helpful.
breakfast choice was limited
It was a very romantic environment. Staff was very friendly and helpful from the front desk, security, kitchen services. I loved that it was quiet and that we were only a trolley away from everything. We would pay $6 for all day passes for both of us. Very prompt when asked for fresh towels. Breakfast was excellent with variety plus my Belgian waffles everyday:)
Not as clean as I would have liked. Very dusty behind bed, nightstands and visible crumbs on the floor. Shower was attempted to be modern but only half of a glass door so it would cause floor to get wet and we could not take shower together because one of us would freeze. Parking was $17 dollars a day but security told us where we could park on the street for free. We stayed for a week and we paid for parking two of the days so it was not bad. Paid parking is not secure because side gates are open.
Overnight parking rate was $17. Too expensive when you consider on street parking was an option.
the location being on the streetcar line was convenient. The breakfast was ok the area to eat was outdated. The pool was fair but small they did have late hours which was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful.tv good.internet too. Pet friendly next door to Wendy's and across the street from Emerils restaraunt.Beds were comfortable.
room not clean. Hair in the tub. Empty bottles under the bed.Is really a motel like setting where you enter from the outside. Furnishings out of date. some towels looked very dingy. Other guests were complaining about unclean rooms also. Ok for one night but wouldn't stay for a long period of time.
I love the fact that I can park my car at the hotel and take the trolley everywhere else. The trolley stops in front of our hotel then we take it to canal street. If we choose to we can take a canal street trolley to where ever we want to go.
I DID NOT like the fact that my charges were $70.00 more then it was suppose to be. This is the hotel we always stay at. I will contact upper management about this on Monday. It's safe and there's a Popeyes, Rasin Cane's, Wendy's, and Emril's Delmonico's all 200 ft from the hotel door. Next time I will pay upfront so that I don't have to go through this again.
I like that it looked like a little villa and had security
I didn't like that on website I was told one price and when I made it to the hotel it was a different price plus I paid for parking each night I was there it should be free parking your at the hotel
Booked in first room shower full of long black hairs room smelt damp bed about half doz black hairs sink not cleaned floor not vacuumed moved to new room witch was good but only had hot water
We didn't stay but 1 night, and the room was clean, service was great, and the trolley ride was awesome!
The location and layout of the facilities.
Didn't stay for a drink in the bar, it had a hostile atmosphere. The breakfast was fair, at best.
I like that the St. Charles trolly car stops right in front of the hotel. Easy to get to Bourbon st. and The Garden District. Nice local bars and ears in the area. Friendly staff and helpful tips.
I didn't like how small the pool area was. At night the surrounding areas of the hotel felt a little unsafe. Too close to homeless hangout. (Near freeway underpass)
We stayed in the hotel for three nights. The reception desks and maids were polite. However, when it comes to actions they are of little help. On the second day of our stay the room was not even tidied up. Although I asked several times to bring clean towels and toiletries, my requests were simply ignored.
The shower floor was gross. The poor green and hot not even working.
