Front desk staff were nice.
Our room was filthy. Air conditioner vent was horrible. We watched the maid take a towel and do the towel shuffle in our bathroom area. The bathroom door looked like a dog had used it for an escape route. It is in need of paint and cleaning. The grounds were nice. The parking situation was not good not enough spaces. Saw a drug deal go down in the parking area.
Location and garden area
Beds uncomfortable and free breakfast not fresh, bread stale
Everything about the facility. The location was great and the room was comfortable.
We needed a tub!
Right on the street car route downtown Walking distance to major Museums
Staff off hand and didn't make up our room - had to be reminded twice Coming back to wet towels and no drinks not appreciated
The tranquility of the hotel, with the ease of getting on the trolley car and traveling to the French Quarter.
I completely like this property!
A streetcar just in front of the hotel, to Downtown, a nice patio, silent in the night, nice staff, value for money good bed and a new bathroom
The service was excellent. The staff were always ready to help, polite and friendly. The premises was neat and I loved the quaint look. I also liked the fact that the wash basin/sink was outside the bathroom. So, while one person was in the shower the other could brush and get ready. The breakfast spread was great. Short walk from a lot of places and the tram stops right outside the door!
The bed was too soft and sunk in. Although this would be very cozy and comfortable for some people, for those with a bad back its not so good. Still, I had a good night's rest when I stayed at the Quality Inn.
The staff was extremely helpful. We stayed after a cruise. Our luggage was waiting for us at check in. The room was obviously recently renovated and was extra clean. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the pillows. Part of the charm was the integration of old buildings with newer builds. The different courtyards were very quaint and the 2 resident cats added to the charm. The streetcar was super convenient. Right outside the hotel. And the hotel is across the street from Emeril's. The free breakfast had something for most tastes and I loved the old fashioned ambience of the dining facilities. Unlike some reviews, we didn't find anything sketchy about the neighborhood and felt we got excellent value for our money. If you're interested in ultra modern luxury accommodations, this is not the place for you. History buffs, romantics, and those wanting clean no fuss lodgings with ambience will love it here. Will definitely stay again.
The bed! the staff! the location with the streetcar out in front.
We were visiting during a very cold spell. the heat was ok but not quite as warm as I would like.
The staff were friendly & helpful. our room was at the back of the hotel near the pool & in a pretty shaded courtyard. The room was lovely & very clean. The trolley bus outside the hotel was a bonus & took us straight to the beginning of Bourbon St. Would definitely go back
Hotel buildings and architecture. Friendly reception staff.
Coffee brewer didn't work properly.
The location and facilities were great and definitely better than staying in the centre
The room wasn't completely clean, wasn't always cleaned fully and on one occasion the cleaner actually asked whether or not we wanted our room cleaned.
Garden with furniture, quite in the night, secure spot.
Location to French quarter and garden district. Outdoor patio and farm breakfast including fruits, yogart, eggs, sausage and much more.streetcar access right in front of the hotel.
Cleanliness of room.vacuuming of floor was not accepable
The front staff was very nice at check in & check out as were the young men who worked the front doors. Very helpful with directions & recommendations.
Rm 229 in old back building. Bathroom not clean with old dirt & dust. Complained to housekeeping that it needed to be cleaned & they didn't do a thing. Not worth $ for that room.
Ease of getting around with the three dollar/day bus pass. We traveled the trolley down St.Charles St to great restaurants .....enjoyed oysters at Superior Seafood. Walked Audubon Park and enjoyed looking at the homes in the Garden District, Magazine has a lot to offer now for shops and places to eat.
The location served our purposes but the neighborhood was a bit seedy.
The facilities were undergoing renovation, and it doesn't look like it will be completed in the near future.
I had made the reservations on line and did not know what to expect, and we had never been to New Orleans. We loved everything about the hotel. The staff was always so helpful, the pool and the hot tub was great, even enjoyed the breakfast area in the morning. There was nothing that I didn't like. Would definitely stay there again.
we really enjoyed the courtyard spaces. They were so relaxing and pleasant to be in
Right outside tram line, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely. Bar next door had good food at reasonable prices.
Good location, quiet, yet easy access to city on tram, good restaurants nearby, staff really friendly and helpful
The location was excellent and the staff were very accommodating when I arrived in the middle of the night.
I don't think the hotel staff were used to a full hotel as things were always empty at breakfast, no milk, no coffee, no orange juice. They were trying to fill things, but they couldn't keep up or they just weren't prepared for that many guests.
convenience of tram stop, $3 gets an all day hop-on-off pass, excellent way to get arround.
Garbage lorry arriving in the middle of the night - tooting horn to get access.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the location is unbeatable, and the facilities are lovely. Authentic and not sterile feeling, a true New Orleans experience. Pay no attention to any reviews that say the place is sketchy or felt unsafe. If you feel unsafe here, you should probably just not visit New Orleans, period. It is a great neighborhood and the staff is always alert. The beds are very comfortable, the pool and hot tub are lovely, and I can't say enough how wonderful and friendly the staff is, especially the ladies at the front desk. The value for your money is undeniable, and the hotel is per friendly too, at the very reasonable rate of $50 for the stay. I can't express how much we have enjoyed our stay!
The bathroom is awkwardly organized, and the showers only have half a door. Trendy and decorative looking, but not highly functional. Such a small complaint compared to all the wonderful experiences!
After reading all the negative reviews about the location, service, and the state of the hotel....yet we decided to give the Maison St. Charles a try. We absolutely loved the hotel. We've stayed in the French Quarter in the past, and our business will now go only to the Maison St. Charles. Staff was very friendly, the location is perfect, and the room we had was great. Honestly I don't see what the other people were whining about.
Absolutely nothing. The staff was great, the location was right, and the hotel truly captures the new Orleans flare.
