Great service, complimentary drinks like coffee in the morning and cool drinks in afternoon and night perfect after a day sightseeing to come back into the hotel with that. Comfortable bed, free wifi.
My wife did not like the fact that the hotel is supposabely haunted and it scared her a lot. The 4th floor is meant to be haunted and especially 407. She insisted we stay on any other floor so we stayed on the 5th. One day we pressed the lift button to go down to the lobby and for some reason it stopped and the doors opened on the 4th with nobody there and right in front of room 407. She went white with fear. Spooky huh. There are many other ghost stories related to room 407 on the internet. Stories from guests and maids of the hotel. This hotel did have a spooky feel to it. The lighting, the decor, the hallways, the elevator. But you can just ignore it and most people will not be worried unless they strongly believe in ghosts. Overall i did like this hotel.
Rude staff at checkout - dragging out to 10 min process as she was watching tv and making rude, passive agressive comments toward me when I explained I was in a hurry.
Good staff and location. Very nice historical building.
Parking service could be improved, leaving the car in the parking a couple of hours after check out should not be a big problem.
My car got broken into in the neighborhood... Valet was $32 for one night! Boo!!!
Dining room was lovely, server exceptional. Food good, too. Old San Francisco charm.
Renovation in progress - will provide needed updates.
The bartender was absolutely amazing and one of a kind!!

Just about everything was great. Location was great. Incredible value for the mini suite.
While the location is where I like to hang out in the city, this time the hotel seemed to have gone downhill.
To list a few, the hotel seemed less clean then the other times I had been, the staff was not very attentive or helpful although the bell boy at the end of my stay was very kind and did help us with our bags. First of all, we upgraded to a room mostly because we saw there was a fire place in the room, when we called the front desk to figure out how to turn it on they told us it was fake and the city law doesn't allow them to use it...a detail that would have been appreciated before we paid for it. Along with this there was a huge box structure around the bed, making the room uncomfortable and my mother broke her pinky toe when she stubbed it there. On our last day as we headed out and they seemed pushy for us to check out (it was a few hours before check out) we came back to find the elevator out of order on all floors for construction they had started shortly in the hotel (how about letting us know that we won't be able to bring our 5 bags down by elevator? That way we actually DO check out early). Also, the stairs among walking in aren't practical for a hotel where people come with bags, especially because no one is really there eager to help. It was over-all not the best experience and I don't think I'll be going back. Too bad.
Excellent service friendly bar with great bartender beautiful old rooms in a great location near the Fillmore district.
Small rooms with hard beds and limited hours for bar and restaurant. It was worth the discounted price but I wouldn't pay full price.
Price affordable, although better options turned out to be available near the Moscone Centre
No way to make coffee/tea in room. Somewhat noisy
They called the room a jr. Suite but it was a small room with a love seat. The batjroom was very small. No air conditioning! 5th floor was very warm.
location was pretty good, cheap enough taxi everywhere.
No Air Con, stupidly sweaty room with poor ventilation.
The location of the hotel is fine. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the market street and about fourty minutes to the pier 39. You get to public transportation in five minutes. The hotel is kind of old but really charming.
Neighborhood is kind of dauobtful.
The room was clean and spacious.
Windows are very old and therefore a bit drafty and not very sound proof. Some areas need a bit of work, but on the whole the room was confortable.
I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for 10 nights. It is an old hotel and I found it has a very charming Edwardian decor. The room was not as spacious, but has everything we need. Fridge full of drinks, wardrobes, flat screen TV, super comfortable bed (despite being quite high), electronic safe, iron and ironing boards, bathroom with clawfoot tub, conveniences like makeup remover, hairdryer, bath robes, perfectly working WiFi all the time. It has no air conditioning, but as we were in the fall, it was unnecessary. It has a window to air the room when we want. The location is good, not too noisy. It has a Walgreens and a CVS with a short walking distance. The elevator is big and it does not take long time to arrive. The staff was polite and answered all our requests. They received and kept many online orders we did, met and warned us about the contact of a company hired to do the tour to Yosemite National Park and, on our last day, requested a taxi with a big car to take us to the airport with our huge amount of luggage. We actually have not had the opportunity to eat at the hotel restaurant so we can not rate the food and drinks they serve. But it is also very beautiful with a lovely decoration. I found that Hotel Majestic has a great value for money, for a city as expensive as San Francisco was worth choosing it.
decoration and furniture and old bath tub selection
a slightly better maintenance in room such as one curtain not working properly or some spider ants in one corner of the ceiling
The Vitcorian Ambience
Loud refrigerator, swivle under it. Dresser instead of stand.
Good free wifi. Nice shower. One nice local bars.
Bed was unusually high making a climb for my short girlfriend. Occasional noise in the middle of the night from old pipes. Gap in the room door that allowed a glimpse of the light from the corridor into our room when our lights were off. Location decent but could do with being a few blocks closer to the centre or fishermans wharf depending on your main intention on travelling.
The staff were so nice and pleasant and very helpful especially the young man at the desk Chris. Also the service at the cafe (in the a.m.)was terrific. I would recommend this hotel and will return
Friendly hotel x
Stayed only for a night, but cannot find anything to complain about.
Particularly the staff, helpful and friendly Dining room and bar
Already knew no,air conditioning before we booked and predictably traffic bit noisy with windows open
Good location only a 20m walk to Market street
Very Noisy due to traffic Poor window isolation
We really liked the location, a short walk takes you to Japantown and lots of shops/ restaurants in Pacific Heights. It's a nice alternative to the hustle of Union Square, although if you do want to go there public transport is very accessible.Free wi-fi. Staff were friendly(ish).
We were sent to the wrong room at the start and were able to gain access to it. There was no air conditioning in the hotel, it was not that hot when we went as it was Sept/ Oct however we still found it very difficult to get to sleep at night. They did give us a fan, but it just circulated the warm air. It was also very noisy, our room faced the intersection so traffic in the morning was v.busy and there were also roadworks outside. There is a bit of a smell in the hotel, even when we got home we could smell it off our clothes etc. There are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms. Also the electricals seemed a little dodgy, sockets were not very secure, lights flickered when you used the hairdryer.
the tiny little beds were bad could not sleep with my wife
