Front desk staff have never been overly polite or accommodating. I've been staying at Majestic for years and have never been impressed by how I was treated. Not rude, just indifferent and not very helpful. I like the location and rooms enough that I still come back but it would be nice if staff could be warmer and friendlier.

The room was nicely decorated adding to the whole Majestic atmosphere, Bed was terrific, location was also good just far away from downtown noise but within a decent walking distance

Parking is quite expensive ($25, day/valet parking) with not many public parking places available around. Rooms were rather small due to the immense bed,

Charming decor: antiques, four poster bed, felt like a trip to Europe, romantic, with friendly staff. We will be back. Great location for doing things in the heart of the City. We were delighted to find it.

We found nothing really to dislike.

I liked the Majestic's location and proximity to various means of transportations. It's also a place where you can relax. It has a fair restaurant in case it rains. There is a woman at the desk who is very keen in showing you around the different places in the neighborhood. She recommended a few restaurants that turned out quite good.

The young men at the desk are sometimes (particularly during the early morning) too preoccupied with their iPhones and pay little attention to customers' requests (I had to return in the afternoon to have a lamp fixed; the young men playing with his iPhone forgot to report it). There are stairs at the entrance and no easy way to bring upstairs a heavy suitcase. I was quite surprised they had not fixed a ramp so one could slide suitcases, both coming in and going out.

I loved that the hotel was so well preserved with little special details.

Not a cookie-cutter, chain hotel but one with a funky, comforting personality. The staff were always friendly and helpful. It was easy to take public transportation to anywhere in the city.

A more modern shower would have been nice, but then we would have missed the claw-foot tub! Too bad a continental breakfast wasn't included.

When I walked into the room, I was truly amazed. My room was so beautiful. It its not a place I would take my kids. For one, the rooms are small. For two, they wouldn't appreciate the beauty. I think I willmake the majestic my little get away. I felt like royalty.

The King Suite was unusually large for a san Francisco hotel.

Could not control the heat

My husband checked in, and when he told the front desk that it was my birthday celebration, the very nice woman at the desk upgraded us to a suite. For $82!!! That is an amazing price for any hotel, let alone one in San Francisco. Forget about a suite price...that should have been $400. We have been staying there for years and have always found the staff to be nice, and when the bar/cafe is open, it's one of our favorites. This time it wasn't open, but we'll be back and will hit it next time.

It has always been elegant looking, but in the past decade since we've been staying there, it has gotten rundown. It is still a beautiful hotel, but the furniture and carpeting is stained and worn out. I still love the feel of a seriously old hotel, with real windows that open, real furniture and decor instead of Best Western style, but things are getting pretty creaky and a little bit stuffy/unfresh smelling. Once all of the windows are open, though, it's once again elegant!

Was very authentic and antique, giving an Old Victorian feel to it

Mold on the shower curtains and windows. Then asked the front desk clerk in the morning to make sure it gets cleaned and his response was "ok". Never moved to tell anyone nor apologized. Of course was never cleaned either. Furniture was in disrepair, wallpaper bubbling and peeling. A hotel can have an antique feeling without being run down and not properly maintained.

location was convenient and the exterior and architecture were very elegant.

It was filthy, deferred maintenance, stained llinen, street noise and guestroom noise was disruptive all night long.

I came expecting a place of beauty and grace and left feeling like I'd bin kicked in the pocket book...the lady at the front desk was rude and condescending...we called from the car because we were lost and she hung up on my dear Mother before we could get accurate directions...and when we arrived we found that our booking of 3 adults was not honored and we were put into a tiny room with only one bed...we had to argue with the awful woman at the desk to get another bed and the bed...cot...they gave us was like something out of a homeless shelter...it was bent in the middle and made a lot of noise when you moved to the point that it woke everybody up...the bartender made me a drink that was so bad I dumped it down the sink...everything in the place was needing attention and fixing...there were chunks of wood missing from the once beautiful furniture and the place smelled of cat-piss...I Was never so disappointed in a place that I went out of my way, and budget to find to attempt to make my experience in S.F. magical...we all were sorry we didn't stay at the Chelsea inn or The Cow Hollow which both offer 2 queen beds and good placement as far as Union Street and the convenience of many wonderful stores and restaurants in close proximity...also...too...they didn't even have a coffee maker in the room and 2 of the lights were broken to the point of being dangerous...basically...the place sucks the big one...put that in your veritable pipe and torch it...

Enjoyed the view and proximaty to business needs. The old town style was nice. The staff took excellent care of us.

there was a leak on the top floor around one of the sky lights and a curtain fell down whipe opening a window, it needed to be secured better. We did find a spot on the stgreet to park, which was nice, but the cost of the parking was to much!
