Location, location and location
Location...close to bus, train, walking distance to so many choices for dining. Beautiful tree lined streets in the neighborhood, nice area for walking. Friendly helpful staff and comfortable quiet surroundings. What more do you need in a hotel?
This hotel was in a cool neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars nearby and the Laugh Factory, and the buses came every 5 minutes if you wanted to go further. Very convenient.
Not many places to park.
The location was great if you're interested in Lakeview or Wrigleyville. It's on a quiet side street but close to many restaurants and shops.
It is an old hotel. Don't book a standard queen, up grade to a suite!
I liked that the hotel was in a neighborhood setting. Made me feel like I actually lived there!!!
Residential neighborhood and access to mass transit buses and trains
Window unit AC
Excellent hotel. Good location. Will book again on nrxt visit. DLL
I liked the redecoration of the lobby/lounge although it didn't look completely finished. The staff was nice enough although we missed seeing Mona on this visit.
I didn't like the "updates" to the rooms. They're cold, with little personality. And the bathrooms weren't touched in the renovation.
The Majestic was a very nice place to stay in a beautiful neighborhood... Close to the lake and to Wrigleyville - we walked both areas.
Elevator was a bit small, but it worked out. I wouldn't trade it for the charm of the older hotel.
Window ac. Very noisie
This was a great location - wonderful staff - Mona rocked - and the cookies, coffee, and breakfast were awesome! We had our family here for a week - and had such a great time. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Great sleep and great beds/quiet location!
Having to leave.
We found the hotel down a quiet side street and were welcomed by Mona. She answered all our questions - got us up to our room and organized the parking of our car - we were very tired. Mona helped organize our tours for the following day - she had a lot of helpful information. At breakfast we met Dan - again very helpful and full of info on Chicago, he also made us feel right at home. We used his info on restaurants and ate at two wonderful places because of his info. All staff was ready and willing to help in any way. The Majestic is one block from a fast bus ride into the city and 4-5 blocks from the train - we parked our car and did not use it during our stay in Chicago.
A wonderful and romantic place to stay. Warm free cookies in the afternoon. Attractive and safe area day and night. Fantastic spread at continental breakfast.
This place was wonderful...the location, the staff and room! We highly recommend it.
The staff was so helpful and friendly b
Easy walking distance to Wrigley Field and was in a great neighborhood!!
Needs a remodel bad. Really bad.
The staff made you feel very welcomed and they were a wealth of information about chicago. Liked that the hotel was small but had everything you needed. Very nice neighborhood also near the lake. Would stay there again.
Close proximity to park 5 minute walk to cafe strip and supermarket $10 Uber car ride into the City The staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful I trying to find my lost luggage
The breakfast was not to my liking, though in fairness I only ate there once during my 3 day stay
Staff was superb and location fantastic
Great location with really nice staff and the gym access was fantastic down the street. Better than the city as it's only a 10 min bus ride away and lakeside is a much safer area.
The staff at this hotel were so professional, personal and very, very helpful. Traveling with my 87 yr old mother who was on oxygen and needed a wheelchair during our stay was a little challenging for me & my sister, however, the staff was so helpful that it all seemed seamless. Roxanna was so helpful with reserving a room that would work and Franky was enjoyable & so polite to my family.
TV options were a little less than expected but in the end, it worked & provided us with what we needed in the end. Besides, you should be in Chicago touring and exploring such a beautiful city.
The staff was so helpful and so friendly. Its located in a beautiful neighborhood and was a nice walk to Wrigley Field. The rooms we're clean and offered munchies and drinks in the room that were really reasonable. I would go back there again without a doubt!
Would've liked a little better selection for continental breakfast.
It was located in a walkable, quiet residential neighborhood. The bed was comfortable and looked clean except for the old decorator pillows and spread at the foot.
There was only one bath towel for each of us. It was in the mid eighties and humid during our stay. Another towel for each would have made it nicer for showering after our daily activities, as well as in the evening/ morning. Also I didn't care for the "community" liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Separate items would have assured me they weren't tampered with. The room was very small with the queen bed pushed up against the wall, requiring me to crawl to the foot of the bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. In addition to the bed pillows on the bed, there were two useless decorator pillows of questionable cleanliness. There was so much stuff in the fridge/ mini bar that we couldn't put in anything of our own and the top of the dresser was full of items as well. I had to use the desk chair for my suitcase, because my husband used the luggage rack and the only other clear surface in the room was the desk. The satellite television stopped working when a storm blew in one evening.
Breakfast. Noisy AC.
