Close to everything in a quiet residential area. Unique period architecture Excellent service
Water pressure only average. Can't control heating because of the old radiatiors. It's part of the buildings charm but it is what it is.
Fireplace and lounge was charming. Good bathroom, room a little on the small side, but that might be the case in a building of that type/era. Good staff/customer service.
Mattress was so worn out -- lumpy, no support, uneven, soft. I had to lie crossways to not sleep in the ditch.
Comfy, located in an area where big chains aren't around, nice amenities, pleasant staff, quiet
Everything but pillows and A/C. We upgraded to 'Sun room' and it is a wonderful room! Lots of natural light, lots of space, even in bathroom! Huge comfy bed (just replace pillows ;)) Very friendly staff!
Pillows were very uncomfortable for us. A/C noisy.
Love the lobby area. It's cozy. And they have coffee/tea running all the time. Parking: you can park outside the hotel along the street, as long as you can find a spot - so no need to spend 22 dollars per night for parking.
My room is 109, which is super small, compared with other rooms of the same type. 109 is next to the elevator, so I guess the elevator should originally be part of 109.
The staff was friendly. We booked the King suite and it was spacious. Great location the only draw back was parking we had a short walk to where our car was parked.
We loved it. Great location near express bus downtown, "L" train, good ethnic restaurants, quiet neighborhood, and Lake Michigan. The staff was very friendly, especially Mona Nd Dan. Our junior suite was roomy and comfortable. We will definitely come back.
Carpet could be updated in lobby.
Very historical site. Love the renovation. It was lovely and the room was great.
Nice neighborhood. Nice building although narrow. Safe,
Windows were 40 years old at least, wind coming thru the air conditioning in the window. Parking on the street difficult. Parking lot 20 usd a night.
This was the 2nd time we stayed. We returned to have the excellent service we received the 1st time & were certainly not disappointed. Mona is so very eager to please, very friendly & outgoing. Dan doing the breakfast is just as accomadating. Such a cozy comfortable atmosphere. The location being conveniently located off N. Lake Shore Dr neghborhood w/safe walking, to to the Lake & surrounding areas. I am looking forward to a future stay....
Cosy non business feel to hotel great location excellent public transport 24 hr lounge with free tea coffee staff friendly good for a leisure break
Poor room small old furnishing and very poor sound proofing with noise every night from TVs banging doors and guests had to go down one night and complaign very disappointed in this aspect wouldn't stay again rooms shown on website all modern and ours was not a bit of a con for the money
We stayed 10 days and really enjoyed it! It was really nice and the team was really friendly. Thanks for everything!
Before arriving at majestic was dubious of its location but it was superb, historic hotel in quiet picturesque neighborhood, easy bus service into Loop just around the corner, variety of restaurants nearby (we ate at Rocks, burgers, and at Angelinas, italian, can recommend both. Hotel staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would like to particularly thank Julie on reception. Will definitely use this hotel again on our next visit to Chicago from the UK.
Parking was not on site...nor did they have a valet. For a handicapped person this was an issue. However they made exceptions and accomodated me very well.
The beds are very comfortable and the hotel is quiet. Good for sleeping. Within walking distance to wrigleyville and the redline.
Air conditioning could be improved. The room was stuffy at times and had to run the air conditioner at full capability.
The atmosphere of an old establishment combined with a good location and comfort.
Our room was facing the main road and the noise forced us to close the windows.
Location. Plenty of good neighborhood restaurants to choose from. Close to major transportation.
nice big room comfortable bed great old building nice toiletries free wifi convenient location nice neighborhood
room was pretty dark - old buildings have fewer windows no shuttle to the airport or to L stop (1/2 mile away) again - older building, so thin walls, creaky floor (worth it for the character of the building!)
Great personal. Special thanks to Dan, Mona, Julia and Jesse. We had all we need when we requested. There are beautiful places for running and sports near the hotel. Food stores close to the hotel. Quiet and green street. Microwave and refrigerator. Sitting room as a plus. Coffee and tea 24-hours in the lobby.
Radiators are not operated by the guests. Kitchenet in the room would be better.
Location, location and location
Close to Wrigley, walking distance to restaurants, comfortable, and many amenities.
Parking is $22. Away from attractions other then Wrigley.
Location...close to bus, train, walking distance to so many choices for dining. Beautiful tree lined streets in the neighborhood, nice area for walking. Friendly helpful staff and comfortable quiet surroundings. What more do you need in a hotel?
This hotel was in a cool neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars nearby and the Laugh Factory, and the buses came every 5 minutes if you wanted to go further. Very convenient.
Not many places to park.
The location was great if you're interested in Lakeview or Wrigleyville. It's on a quiet side street but close to many restaurants and shops.
It is an old hotel. Don't book a standard queen, up grade to a suite!
I liked that the hotel was in a neighborhood setting. Made me feel like I actually lived there!!!
