Not a bad experience at all. It's just not close to major business centers. It also didn't have a gym.
Comfort of the room, breakfast, staff and neighborhood were all amazing! Would definitely recommend it.
Room too hot even with radiator off. Some noise from outside--flapping metallic intermittent sound. Also could hear elevator ding every time it arrived. Don't recommend room 315 for these reasons.
Staff was super nice, hotel in excellent condition, comfortable bed, nice linens, very clean.
Parking not attached to hotel made it difficult to transport luggage.
Beautiful hotel and excellent, friendly staff.
Parking not very convenient and expensive... should be included in the price of the room.
Very clean, very friendly staff, free breakfast, honor bar...
I loved the lobby/sitting area with fire place and complimentary coffee and tea. (And light breakfast in the a.m.) rooms are small but sufficient if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room. Everything was clean.
The staff is fantastic and the environment is very welcoming.
What's not to like. It was perfect
I needed a last minute hotel room in Chicago for myself and college age daughter. I used my phone to make the reservation. I called to see if the reservation went through and was told the online reservations take a few minutes to come through. About 10 minutes later my phone rang. It was the wonderful man at the front desk letting me know the reservation was there. I did not even ask him to do that. The service continued at the high level for the rest of our stay. The room was clean, spacious and charming. The bathroom was excellent. There was hot tea and coffee in the lobby which was greatly appreciated since we wee traveling late. It is the kind of place you feel comfortable going down in your hotel robes and jammies to get a cup of tea. Perfect.
Convenient to DePaul U
The hotel was super cute, we live in the suburbs and needed a lil getaway. Our room was gorgeous!
I thought the room was dated.
The breakfast room was very great. The associate helped in any way a he could and was very polite too.
Focus on comfort
Great location in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. Very pleasant staff.
Everything was awesome, only drawback was that it was so cold during my stay that I could hear the heating elements of the hotel and they got pretty loud while trying to sleep.
The parking is like 3-4 blocks away. Not super convenient. But cheaper parking than any place downtown!
The fact that its on a quiet street close to everything Wrigleyville has to offer!
Right next to The elevator. Breakfast really wasn't a breakfast
Breakfast was average and ended a little early.
Quaint little hotel with a lot of character and a friendly staff. Also, the parking was very very reasonable. Would go there again.
The rooms are comfy and the staff make you feel at home. Dan, who oversees breakfast in the lounge, is a gem. He asks how you are, if you need anything, provides information. . . The Majestic offers a small town feel in a big city.
Due to the location of our room (#202), outside noise from deliveries and moving trucks was very loud (only happened a few times. Otherwise, a very quiet neighborhood.) Also, the radiant heat was not enough to keep the room warm (thankfully, the lovely plush blanket on the bed helped with that!) The window in the shower was broken and the painter working in the hotel left an unsightly mess in the lobby (this might not bother most people, but my husband owns a painting company. He was appalled by the lack of cleanliness and unprofessional workmanship. Not really the hotel's fault - just a suggestion to find a better company in the future.)
I loved the King Suite! Obviously, the building is a refurbished apartment building - it was more like renting a "home away from home" than a hotel room! At $130 + $22 parking per night, it's a great deal!!! The thick walls blocked all interior noise. Comfortable and affordable! Easy access to taxis and a short walk to neighborhood stores & restaurants. A wonderful place - we'll be back! :)
mattress a little hard
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.
Nothing really. The room temperature seemed to fluctuate a bit but that was more than bearable.
This was our first time in Chicago having travelled from Toronto, Canada. The property is set in an established residential neighbourhood not too far from Wrigley Field. Some very nice restauramts in the surrounding neighbourhood and easy access to buses and a short ten-minute walk to the Red Line "El" station. The property itself is older but well maintained with lots of character. The best part of it is the staff. They are very gracious and helpful and kudos go out to Mona and Dan especially for their exemplary service and attention to guest needs with recommendations and general hospitality.
Hotel staff treated guests like annoying pests. Staff goes around doing room checks for smoking like you are in a dorm in college. They charge you $250 for "smoking" even though we weren't, it was because we were partying. If your going to the majestic you better be over 40 yrs old and bring a book to read. Because if you bring beer expect an extra $250 charge on your bill. My bill came to $700 for 3 nights!!!!!! The majestic has been by far the worst hotel i've ever stayed in my life.
Location was only thing I liked about the majestic
I loved that there was breakfast and that the street was not a busy street. it was a cute little place, very comfortable and welcoming!
The staff that put the breakfast out in the morning was exceptional and friendly.Very helpful and knowledgable about the area
Parking was a 3 minute walk outside and through another building, for additional $22.. Breakfast was limited in choice.. needs pancake or waffle iron
the staff were friendly and efficient, the room was nice and the bed was comfy.
