Location, quiet at night, clean, updated interiors, responsive staff? Broken shower handle repaired 5 mins after request made during daytime hours.
Windows are poor buffers for daytime street noise. Pool hours too restrictive (6-10 am & 5-9 pm). Guests should determine when they wish to swim, within reason,
-staff; especially Franklin and Ollie(spelling?) -access to interstate -safe in closet -plugs on lamps and other decor -tea and coffee -pool and workout facilities -bell hoppers
-refrigerator was warm, couldn't seem to make it cold. Also didn't ask for help bc I wasn't desperately in need -lack of blanket warmth(maybe I should have asked for extra blankets) -dust build up in vents(mildly allergic to dust, I could see it in the vents and tried to remove it myself but it wasn't easy to clean. I have seen more expensive hotels have this issue too so it's not just this hotel and it's probably not obvious to many others) -parking, but for the price of stay I can't complain(suggestion: park on 90th or 89th which is two blocks down to the right or left in neighborhoods for free or park at the end of the street on the left for $25 a day. I parked in a neighborhood on 90th on the far left side for three days without any worries)
local restaurants were better than tourist area
no breakfast available...annoying when a public holiday and shops close. 4-5 km from centre of NY underground rail requires 15 minute walk aircon had a chill factor and as no natural airing room heated up, air con freezes you so one minute you had blankets next you were over hot
Housekeeping was excellent. Desk help was excellent.
The room temperature was difficult to regulate.
Rooms were very large for NYC. Beds were extremely comfortable. Friendly staff, very clean and modern.
No on-site restaurant for breakfast. Closest bagel shop is 3 blocks away. Bit of a long walk to the subway.
Very clean and quiet. The area of the city seemed very safe and nice. There are a lot of places to eat out. Comfy bed (we had a king size bed). The check in and out was very easy and quick (big plus!). Overall, a very nice place for your stay in the city.
For a king size bed they could have had more spacious rooms. However, it never spoiled the time in the hotel.
the area is good and has restaurants and shops nearby.
it is not very close to subway. we had to take a cab to come back at night
Good quality of beds, good bathroom
Pool had changing opening times, Sunday from 10am, weekdays after 10am - we missed both...
We booked the room for us (young couple) and my fiance's parents as a room for four people. When we arrived we noticed that beside one king size bed (ok) there is only a tiny sofa (about 90-100 cm width). What is more, there were towels and bed sheet for only 2-3 people (3 sets of towels, 2 sets of sheet). We told about our problem to the staff, but the lady in hotel lobby didn't seem to care. The only thing she could offer was to exchange the room for the one with two beds next to each other (not very comfortable for two couples) or to two rooms, but we would have to pay for them extra 100$ + tax. There was also garbage in our kitchen - there were isntant coffee packages left from previous customers. If we had known that this room is not suitable for 4 people (as it was presented in booking.com), we wouldn't have booked it!
view of the water
views of the old buildings and the noisy ac unit.
The staff are friendly. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The speed of wifi is wonderful. We also enjoy the whirl pool and pool.
We pulled up to the hotel and the valet guy (I believe his name was Matt) greeted us with such an upbeat, friendly attitude. He was extremely helpful (pointing out where to go for things like breakfast and what tours to do!) he even tried to find us on street parking so that we didn't have to park a garage (it's always nice to save that $$). It was was this kind of service that would make me come back again and definitely recommend this hotel to others!
Location is good
Walls have doors in them connecting to neighboring room, you can hear everything through this door!
size of room
The hotel was well air conditioned, it was clean and provided a good sleep
I know this is US and the customer service isn't as good as UK- but this was all at a new level! The staff never greeted us or made eye contact upon entering or leaving the premises! Considering that four days costed us $1000, we were expecting at least some friendliness and instead were ignored! Disappointed at Marriott
Brilliant hotel. Lovely pleasant staff, comfortable beds, close to subway, good facilities. Pool and jacuzzi great facility. All round great hotel. Will revisit.
Would be great if pool was open all day or little later in morning until 12am, but still open good hours in the evening morn and evening. Not something that bothered much and wouldn't let effect your decision.
The room was nice, and it was a great fitness. The staff was Nice and the hotel was not that far away from things to see. We liked to walk downtown ;)
Had a pool. Comfy bed. Requested a room with a view and got one. Good eateries nearby.
The room stank of stale smoke. The bed sheets popped off as soon as you got into bed. It was further from the subway than we were made to believe in the description.
gym, pool, complementary coffee and tea, neat and tidy
A few blocks from subway and central park but perhaps that is a positive because it is quieter
Good clean hotel, with friendly staff
The WIFI had no password so appeared to be on an unsecured network. Couldn't get our VPN to workt so concluded that the hotel block the use of VPN's which seems a bit unreasonable. Open VPN may have worked but we didn't try that.
Great employees Nice workout facility swimming pool comfortable room
no breakfast swimming pool could have been a little cleaner but overall good 1 elevator if crowded or busy took awhile to get down ice on the lower level and coffee
Location is actually quite convinient ( bus is 24/7 access to most of spotlight of NYC Staff are quite helpful free printing service Fast/Free wireless Laundry service is a plus
food choice are not very much ideal. But what else you can complaint？ You have to get out and eat many fabulous food in other area.
I arrived like two hours before the check in hour (3:00) and they allowed me to check in inmediately. Staff Very nice. Rooms very clean and very comfortable beds.
confort, space, wifi, clean, staff, cheaper.
15 minutes from Metro. No breakfast option.
This place is a must!!!! The staff have amazing customer service skills!!! Nothing was ever too hard for them. The rooms were clean, bed was really comfortable!!!! Not too far from the subways I'll be coming back again!!!
