Quite and right on river.
Ok with us, but a bit of a hike to room, up stairs. Small rooms, bedroom upstairs, very tight quarters. Priced for expensive Telluride.
The outside looked ok
Had to go to another hotel to book in. No lifts. Had to walk cases across a bridge and up steps to hotel. Nobody available at check in or at breakfast as advertised. No Ice. Not as clean as I would have liked. Expensive.
The location was excellent. Nice creek outside. But I would select none of the terms in question 3. I would call it cramped, Spartan, uncomfortable and very poor value for the money.
There were many miscommunications about this venue and the reservation process. First of all, I would not call this place a "lodge." There is no staff on duty and you're on your own. The signs call it a B&B. Well, in my experience, a B&B has staff and they fix lunch for you. That wasn't the case, either. Your Web site said I could pay at check-in, and that was perfect because I wanted to pay in cash. However, when I checked in, I found out that you had already charged my card. Also, check in was a mess. I was told to go to Telluride Alpine, but I called them first because I thought it was weird not to check in at the lodge (I didn't yet know that it really wasn't a lodge.) And to find out where they were. And then they told me to check in at a B&B which was not located at the lodge or the Alpine office. So I went there and there was only a clueless but helpful housekeeper on duty. She said the desk guy was at lunch. She tried calling him and he didn't answer. And he didn't call back. After several minutes of waiting for him to call back, I begged her to call him again, as I needed to check in because I had plans that afternoon and Alpine had told me that would not accommodate a late check-in unless they left stuff for you in a drop box. Seriously? They would have left the door lock code to my room where just anyone could have gotten to it? You need to warn people on your Web sites of such policies before you lock people into reservations because not accommodating late arrivals in a better manner is critical to one's travel plans! So, anyway, I walked to the Telluride Alpine office. (And btw, I get very ill with altitude sickness and must take meds when I travel, so it was not ok for me to be walking uphill, but since parking was scarce, I had to.) The Alpine lady argued with me about my reservation because "Bookings always charges the card." Whatever - I know what I read.
