Not a bad time, but it was a little pricey for what was offered. Coffee was supplied in the room, as was a small refrigerator, but no microwave to heat up anything you might keep in it, and no breakfast offering at the location. If you want to eat before 8 am, there's a McDonalds within walking distance, but that's about all that's available at that time. Room was a little dated, and some maintenance was required in the shower/bath stall where the grouting was cracked through, but I wasn't expecting the ritz, so no real points off for that. Again, my main complaint was the price for what was offered; essentially 2 beds, a fridge, a coffee maker, a tv, and free wifi. I paid the cost because of location, but I'll be hiking again up there in June, and I'll be staying at a place with the same identical offering, except that it's an 45 minutes away and about half the price.
Staff was helpful, knowledgeable of the area and handy with a map for local services. Location in Lake Placid was perfect for hiking Cascade/Porter.
