The staff was warm, extra friendly and helpful. We enjoyed relaxing by the tiki bar.
The place is an older facility and needs renovations. The staff did the best they could with what they has to work with.
Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
Coffee cups in unit were too small and no hair dryer provided.
Low-key, friendly, small, no pretensions. We had a bedroom and a fold-out couch, bath w/ shower, kitchenette, delightful front porch. The breakfast arrangements were coffee only, set out at the tiki bar, and it was a great time to socialize with the other guests. We brought sweet rolls for all to share a few times. The trees are lovely and give nice shade; the hammocks are nice. Staff is friendly and cheerful.
It would have been nicer if the loud dumpster exchange had not happened at 7am. The wi-fi signal could be stronger. The bathroom door could use planing so as not to stick upon opening.
Cottages were cute.
Cottages to close together, backed up to bank and dumpster was right behind our "patio", very tight parking, no privacy or beach access.
Proximity to Sombrero beach. About ten minutes
Location is on a dark road, with no boundry or fences. Cottages are antiquated. We were in#1 the one in the photo Large. Trash container was less but than ten feet ft from the door. Place did not feel secure especially at night I
We liked the friendly staff, the morning coffee and the cute tiki bar--and, nice towels.
Close to everything. Quiet and private.
Cottage and bathroom were very, very old and toilet didn't work well
The value for the money was good. Place was clean.
Place is very dated, probably could use upgrades throughout. The toilet was extremely hard to flush. The bathroom was adequate but everything was so squashed in there that you had to watch your step. The shower curtain rods were rusted beyond description.
Problem with toilet, not flushing and leaking round the pan. Seems to be a common problem here, would be the only thing putting me off a return stay.
No heat which would not normally be a problem but it was unusually very cold. They didn't even have space heaters. Our toilet didn't flush properly either.
nicely and tastefully furnished
the "kitchenette" in our (tiny) deluxe cabin was a microwave and a toaster, in-room toilet and shower had no roof, the patio looked liked like a junk yard and had to be shared with neighbours (which was not mentioned), dilapidated sitting area in front of house, no wifi in room, a lot of noise from road and nearby airport - 50% overpriced
The uniqueness of the place
Funky that the bathroom was outside, outdoor shower is always nice but outdoor toilet??? It rained and was windy and chilly!!
The DVD player in the TV didn't work.
Value and easy to work with staff. Comfortable clean beds. Old keys well used cottages.
The exterior could use some TLC. Tiles busted and base trim missing in spots and some drywall damage. New bathrooms... Nice.
Pleasantly surprised. Local kitty joined us too. There are a few local beaches if you want to save yourself a drive into Key West. Talk to the woman who checks you in..she is super nice and will give you discount coupons.
Have to say the guy who cleans and stuff there, very creepy.. not very friendly either. I think he just took the job to have a job, but if you are gonna be in that kind of setting have a better attitude.
Loved the outdoor bathroom!
Ran out of coffee. but I did get a good cup anyway, outside in the tiki hut
Very clean, although old. The shower area has been updated. Full kitchen. Only a half-block off the main road through the Keys, and half block to the Gulf. Nice Tiki Bar area to relax, including chairs and hammocks.
Wifi does not work in the cottages, only in the Tiki Bar area, and it's very slow.
Totally cute property and small cottages. Exactly what you'd expect from the Ole Florida Keys.
Bathrooms could use an update. There were no electrical outlets for hair dryer.
The cottages are cute, the price was the best we could find, the outside area with hammocks was an added bonus.
We could not find any heat and were freezing when we woke up. The hot water was backwards in the shower and it took a while to figure that out. Remote did not work for ceiling fan or TV.
Bed skirt dirty. Toilet problems. Crack and chipped floor tiles and flooring terrible. Shower curtains too short to hold water in shower basin. Outdoor tiki hut lights not working. Windows inside blocked by useless cabinets. Outdoor light hanging by live wires outside. Outdated and obsolete TV on only table to eat off. Way to expensive at $200. It should be advertised as a $29.95, one star rating, a night room.
Old run down
Cabin #7 of 10. Designated pking spots. Very cozy cabin, sky blue. Sudden service (on towels and such) by smiley staff. We arrived very early, they jumped forward to our cabin and we were able to get in earlier.
No complaints, recommend it to couples young, medium or geezers.
Cute place and we had fun.
There was a broken tree limb that was scrapping the metal roof of the cottage very loud and very creepy sounding with no one there to take care of my 60 year old husband had to climb up there at about midnight and take it down.
it looked quaint but realistically it is no good for any more than a day or 2.
next cottage which is number 9 could see us in number 8 as we went to the toilet. We actaully bought a sheet to cover while we used the toilet. we could only watch telly from the bed as the table and chairs were under the TV but the bed was on stilts. we were there a week so some TV was watched. The coffee maker was broken. we told the man in the office but he did nothing about it.
We saw a Racoon :)
