The location and the cleanliness.
The day i arrived was wet and cold and the ac unit would not put out enough heat to warm up the apartment(kept shutting on and off regardless of what it was set at). There was only one blanket, which was very thin.On that first day it was difficult to stay warm.
Small, not much people wondering or yelling around the place. The AC was broken, the employee on site immediately had someone come over to fix it and it was then functional. The water died for about 15 mins because of a leak in another room. Very generous that they were up front about the problems rather than giving us the run about because after traveling for five hours we were pretty grumpy. Awesome locations. Right across from the Habor which had a very nice scene and plenty of people. Located right in "Little Italy" which was more amazing than I had expected. Gas Lamp was not to far from the location either, and when checking in we were handed a map of the local area. Balboa park was a couple blocks away and the December nights festival had so many things to see and food to try. Then there is Coronado, which was not a far drive at all. Cute little place that over looked San Diego bay, which was very night and the sushi place (Saiko Sushi) was amazing. So, for the price of $82 per night was pretty good. Greatest location yet compared to all of my other travels. I would definitely go back, not for the motel but the location and attractions.
The motel was small. They cramped us up into the farthest room they could. The view was someone's back yard so although across from the harbor we had the curtains closed the entire time. There was a huge crack below the door which made it creepy because someone can literally peer through or push something under. So I decided to take matters into my own hand and stuff the crack with a towel. The shower water was either boiling hot or freezing ice cold.
Location is fine, but only if you really need to be close to the airport. Public transit, especially the trolley, is fast and works fine in San Diego. I would not choose this for just the location when staying longer in SD, although transport to the airport, even at night, was very easy.
High noise levels due to planes and cars. No water bottles available to buy. They ask for a 50$ deposit.
The room was very clean and neat. The beds were comfortable and taken care of on a daily basis. Would like to stay there once more.
The first day or so our TV was not operational. That was taken care of by the staff once we reported the situation. We were confused by a bedside phone that was not operational. That was never resolved.
room very smal
Staff was nice, checked us in earlier, we were able to leave the car in the parking after check out. Location is the main plus, it's in Little Italy, close to public transportation, across the street from the ocean and the Maritime Museum. Safe area. Lots of restaurants around. Great walking area even later at night. Free parking
Lack of breakfast (it was discontinued a few months ago). Taxes kept being added to our bill, so not a lot of savings comparing to the initial price through booking. We got room #100, avoid it! It's near the reception, so you can hear noise, luckily not late at night or early morning. The room was newly renovated, but it's the smallest, the most impractical room we ever stayed in. It's maybe OK for one night if you travel light. There aren't any closets, tables, no room to put your things on. Just 2 tiny night stands and a bed. AC didn't work well. No hair dryer, no fridge, no microwave. Just a room and a shower-water spills out when you use it. Strange new design of this room. Lipstick on the bed sheet when we arrived, stains on a pillow
Location was great, free parking
Shower was a lil run down
Mediocre motel-like hotel, with an old smell. However, everything kept clean and in working condition. Great stay option for people on a tight budget without high expectations.
location is downtown, but I would have rather stayed a little outside than here
staff was unfriendly, it was very loud because of other guests and location
Hotel was noisy, outside was noisy, airconditioning didn't work, TV was from the previous century and my room overlooked the garbage which smelt. There wasn't anything good and there are other hotels closer to the Little Italy district.
Staff was helpful when I had to ask for things.
The bed was uncomfortable. The room was old n in bad need of updates. The shower was so low that I at 5' was hard for me to stand there. Water pressure was awful. Dark hallway. Vending machine was out of order. Forgot to put toilet paper in and had to ask for it.
moldy shower poor sound proofing
man at reception was not very friendly
Free Wifi and the Location was great. The facilities, and room was old and in need of a remodel. However, it's an ok room for someone who doesn't plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel.
Parking was horrific. They have 17 spots for 35+ rooms. I had to park on the side of the driveway within the blind spot of a right turn into the parking lot. It made me nervous that my car would be hit all night. I asked the staff about the parking situation and they seemed almost rude about it. I feel like they are just sick of having people complain about the parking situation, as it's a common complaint. In general, the staff was somber. They seemed like they didn't care about their jobs. I did not feel welcomed during check in, and they couldn't even muster the energy for a fake smile. The mattress we slept on was cheap, overlay firm, and you could feel the springs. Both nights I slept there, I woke up with sore hips. I also had to kill a large wolf spider in the bathroom while I was using the restroom.
The location was really nice, near the harbor and not far from downtown and the airport. The room was very clean and tidy. The staff has been polite, friendly and helpful. If I go to San Diego again, I will try to choose the same hotel.
Poor wifi signal and speed. Inadequate parking.
Riverside location in walking distance, also right next to italian quarter. Silly detail but there was hair conditioner and hair dryer. Clean towels and sheets, good place for value!
Small parking lot in front of the rooms. We are jn a back room but the hotel may be a bit noisy, from main street and airport. No fridge nor microwave.
There is not enough parking spots for how many rooms.. They will make you park a block away at their sister hotel and even there is full you have to "make" a parking spot
When we left, hope we can forget about this place.
The room number "14" do not stay in this room, it is on the end, your front door when open all you see is dirty stairs NOTHING else and the window faces a side street where all you see is a car wash, sheets and pillow cases were not clean The bed had HAIR all over the sheets was horrible, got there at 1 pm they told us check in is at 3 pm went back at 3 pm had sit in the car and wait till 4:30 for room would NOT stay here again very poor.
The location was perfect. The price was great for the area. Free parking. The staff were all very nice and accommodating.
The rooms were pretty run down. Bathroom was eehhh less than to be desired. This hotel is in desperate need of an update.
Staff was very accommodating allowing me to check-in an hour early and hold luggage. It's similar to a super 8 quality but location is great. Little Italy\bayfront 2 blocks.
No hair dryer or lotion in the room.
I was really disappointed with this hotel. It is not what it is advertised to be. We had no problems with parking but they have around 20 rooms and 17 parking lots, so you may have no place to park but the front street is an option. I was placed in a room that faced the alley and weeds so be careful when you rent here. The furniture is out dated. I would no stay here again
Our room was cancelled at this hotel and they booked us in else where! We were not impressed as it was 11:45 at night and we had two young children and only knew about it when we arrived at the hotel! The place they booked us into was grotty and tiny- we couldn't wait to get out of there!
