Good Location Easy access to public transportation Neighbourhood feel Close to Walgreens/Gas/Coffee Close to Golden Gate Close to Chestnut Street (Young families, coffee shops, overall great area) Free Parking!
Busy street Traffic noise
- own garage, free of charge - near Chestnut Street with lots of cafes - good bus connections to Piers
- noisy as on main road with lots of traffic through the night - very small room - TV didnt work properly
Very convenient location if you are traveling by car. Even though the motel is located on a freeway, it's very quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all inquiries (laundry, nice place for dinner, etc.) The Chestnut str. next to Lombard has many restaurants and cafes for breakfast.
- Marina district is very nice; near to the shore and Golden Gate Bridge - Parking for free is very valuable in SF - a lot of shops and restaurants on Chestnut St in direct distance
- rather small room - Bus takesnabout 30min to downtown
Great location if you want be away from downtown, great neighborhood, courtyard room was quiet, clean, nice kitchenette area, Would definitely go back.
When I checked out, the woman at the desk didn't ask how my stay was which I thought was odd, she seemed unfriendly. Everyone else seemed nice. The bed pillows could be upgraded and the heater kicked in early morning and was noisy. No air conditioning.
Small room but reasonably well appointed.
Dangerous (lethal) hairdryer plug that was ignored, even though it was reported. Cover unsecured leaving bare 110v contacts. Noise: adjacent to the main road, no aircon, hot, windows had to be open hence lots of decibels when trying to sleep.
Close to the marina district.
Noisy, no air con or fan. Had to sleep with windows open & the mosquitoes. Room was right on the main road. Some hairs on the hand towel and bed linen. Worst hotel on our 3 week holiday. Thank goodness we only stayed the one night.
Location....was within walking distance of Presidio where the conference was. The courtyard was lovely with it's flora and fauna. Clean. Friendly staff.
There was a lingering odor and no air conditioning. Since it is close to the street, sleeping was difficult due to noise of traffic. The size of the room was small and compact.
This place is a gem in San Francisco. Located in the Marina district, there are nice places to eat within 8-10 blocks. It is older, but has a lovely courtyard with beautiful flowers on every building. It is a little pricey, but a bargain compared to the large hotels in the city. Plus it has garages to park in.
Loved the ambiance of the motel. The room was very clean. It was 1 block from the bus line that takes you to Fisherman's Warf, China Town, etc. It was 3 blocks from a grocery store. We loved that there was a full kitchen in our room. We had breakfast every day before we left for site seeing. We then enjoyed something light and even had ice cream (great freezer) every night in our room. The Wifi was excellent.
We are used to a king bed at home so the queen was small and meant we didn't sleep very well.
This place was so cute. I had a room on the street side. It wasn't loud.
staff helped direct me to transportation and local sights, very helpful.
Nice room with good facilities. Very clean.
We had a street room which was v noisy-bring your ear plugs! Very stern woman on reception when we arrived, not too helpful when I was asking where we needed to park
Great bed. Highly functional place to stay. Had everything I needed. Went for a run along the bay each day. Location was close to my friends.
Decor was a little outdated, but reminded me of my mothers house.
+ Beautiful place in safe neighborhood + Clean & beautiful accommodations + Fully-equipped kitchen + Lots of light + Private parking garage + Very convenient business center with free printing service available + Walking distance to Walgreens and Palace of Fine Arts
- Street noise, but it didn't bother me much - Room key needs to be reactivated daily
Location, free parking although they were small.
Over priced , noisy , not very clean, no airconditioner, bugs. It should be 1 star hotel.
clean rooms, great location close to everything...beautiful flower gardens and views in the courtyard, a pleasant surprise in the middle of the city !
a little noisy when opening windows since it's right on lombard st. but a great value for the money!
Great location: close to some good restaurants, a short taxi trip (or about a 30 min walk) to the wharf and a truly helpful, professional and classy staff.
The street facing room was a bit noisy until later at night and then a gain early in the AM. The garages located on the street are very narrow and if you have an SUV it probably won't fit.
Best place we've stayed in throughout our road trip in California. Someone has really made this hotel to feel like home - little but comfy rooms, lots of flowers around, very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful! Simply amazing, especially when compared to other hotels in the similar price-range! Free parking is an additional bonus.
Not much. There was no A/C in the room, however it did not feel like something we needed.
Amazing courtyard simply filled with beautiful flowers! Perfect location, few blocks from Palace of Fine Arts, view of Golden Gate Bridge, tons of restaurants, and FREE COVERED PARKING! V friendly staff and owner!
Rooms are a little small, especially bathroom. Even courtyard rooms are a little noisy so would advise downloading a white noise app on your phone or something!
Felt like I was at home. Lots of pillows and very clean
It was rather small and would of love if it had a place to eat at the motel.
I loved the garden atmosphere. Whoever does their gardening should be awarded a medal!
It was very noisy and hard to get in and out of the parking garages. Rooms are tiny.
Really clean & perfect location
We had to leave after the first night, because the room was so noisy, that you couldn't sleep at all!!
Very friendly staff. Nice to be somewhere independently owned and run. Full kitchen with everything you could need and big bathrooms - totally like your own little apartment while in SF! Even get a laundry card from the desk for Missing Sock - it'll make things a lot easier! Walk to so many things but not too touristy and great transport links seconds away to everywhere! Always felt safe. Theres even a 24 Walgreens next door, 24hr donuts a few blocks down and really nice coffee/bakeries that open super early!
Beautiful courtyard type feel but felt like you were looking directly into the room across and no a/c so the windows have to be open (which is nice - no bugs or anything) but doesnt help with the privacy...theres curtains but no sheer ones only blackout (which is nice too!) but kinda all or nothing. The rooms facing the street are noisier with entry right up from the street but cheaper and actually more window privacy so if thats all there's left don't hesitate! Give all the stuff in your kitchen a good clean, too. My kettle was all rusty inside so I just boiled water in one of the several pots! Also smoking is allowed in the courtyard (boo) so, again, stinkystink through your open windows but it only happened a couple times during my stay. Didn't ruin my day! This place cool - pass up the chains and stay somewhere new!!
