This place is a gem in San Francisco. Located in the Marina district, there are nice places to eat within 8-10 blocks. It is older, but has a lovely courtyard with beautiful flowers on every building. It is a little pricey, but a bargain compared to the large hotels in the city. Plus it has garages to park in.
This place was so cute. I had a room on the street side. It wasn't loud.
staff helped direct me to transportation and local sights, very helpful.
Nice room with good facilities. Very clean.
We had a street room which was v noisy-bring your ear plugs! Very stern woman on reception when we arrived, not too helpful when I was asking where we needed to park
Great bed. Highly functional place to stay. Had everything I needed. Went for a run along the bay each day. Location was close to my friends.
Decor was a little outdated, but reminded me of my mothers house.
+ Beautiful place in safe neighborhood + Clean & beautiful accommodations + Fully-equipped kitchen + Lots of light + Private parking garage + Very convenient business center with free printing service available + Walking distance to Walgreens and Palace of Fine Arts
- Street noise, but it didn't bother me much - Room key needs to be reactivated daily
Location, free parking although they were small.
Over priced , noisy , not very clean, no airconditioner, bugs. It should be 1 star hotel.
clean rooms, great location close to everything...beautiful flower gardens and views in the courtyard, a pleasant surprise in the middle of the city !
a little noisy when opening windows since it's right on lombard st. but a great value for the money!
Great location: close to some good restaurants, a short taxi trip (or about a 30 min walk) to the wharf and a truly helpful, professional and classy staff.
The street facing room was a bit noisy until later at night and then a gain early in the AM. The garages located on the street are very narrow and if you have an SUV it probably won't fit.
Amazing courtyard simply filled with beautiful flowers! Perfect location, few blocks from Palace of Fine Arts, view of Golden Gate Bridge, tons of restaurants, and FREE COVERED PARKING! V friendly staff and owner!
Rooms are a little small, especially bathroom. Even courtyard rooms are a little noisy so would advise downloading a white noise app on your phone or something!
Felt like I was at home. Lots of pillows and very clean
It was rather small and would of love if it had a place to eat at the motel.
I loved the garden atmosphere. Whoever does their gardening should be awarded a medal!
It was very noisy and hard to get in and out of the parking garages. Rooms are tiny.
Really clean & perfect location
We had to leave after the first night, because the room was so noisy, that you couldn't sleep at all!!
Location for getting around SF(we walked) Appearance- the courtyard was so pretty Staff pleasant and helpful
Road noise, but to be expected when location is considered
The staff of this hotel were amazing and beyond helpful. The motel is set in a lovely area and maintained very well. The staff were very knowledgeable of the many plant species and more than willing to give us a historical tour of the grounds. We will defiantly be back.
good location- easy access to bus lines( elderly ) don't drive. friendly and very helpful staff.. loved access to Motel's computer...
did not like noise from Lombard street.. was not told that in order to have a kitchen we had to have a room on a busy and very loud street....
Beautiful property. Parking garages available. Room was clean and had nice linens. Good restaurants nearby.
On Lombard street. nice 1900 feeling
Returning to the city after a 10 yr. hiatus, found the Marina Motel in my old neighborhood. Have stayed twice in the last 6 mos., facing the courtyard and also facing the street. Perfect location (Chestnut and Union streets), great if you have a car (private garage) or use public transportation. Nice furnishings and very competent and personable!
If I have to think of something, just wish cost was a little lower.
Location alone makes it a great place to stay, you get your own garage to park in, interior rooms are surprisingly quiet near a busy street. Room itself was very nice with flowered on window of second floor room looking out at courtyard that feels like you're staying in a Mediterranean villa
The rooms are pretty nice and well furnished. Everything you need to cook a nice meal is present.
Ask for a room inside the patio because the rooms next to the street are extremely noisy as there is a lot of traffic. As well you should bring some warm clothes.
That it was in san franscisco The courtyard was pretty
No ac units It is loud because it's right next to a Main Street Lombard Just wasn't what I expected
The motel has a gorgeous inner courtyard fro all guests to share.
When we arrived the receptionist was on the phone for 10 minutes before she checked us in. After an 8 hour drive we really needed to freshen up and the wait was ridiculous. Our room smelt a bit like a toilet. It seemed clean but was unleasant. The road noise was incredibly loud and the whole apartment literally shook when big trucks went past. The staff were distracted and unreliable. Wifi signal was so weak we had to go down to the courtyard to use it.
Cuter than the average motel in the neighbourhood, the gorgeous garden makes all the difference. Parking on site, nice and helpful staff.
Rooms are on the small side, but it is to be expected in San Francisco. Our room was not particularly noisy but rooms closer to the main Street might be.
