Thin walls and spotty wifi.
Staff was great!! Room was clean and location is good.
Bashe and Kumar a great pair of workers,
All staff were so much unfriendly and non efficient, with bad manners. It's just unbelievable! Every time it was so hard to get any information there. I could see through their facial expressions, body language, or even tone of voice The hotel staff will need to improve on their facial expressions because it is a signature to the hotel attitude.
Location and decoration. Nice and clean, comfortable hotel with the excellent bed & beautiful bath.Every time I used the bathroom facilities, they were spotlessly clean.
Very hard to find parking
Very quiet and clean place . staff was very nice. The from was small but definitely worth it.
The vulnerable feeling from the street people
Parking our pick up was a pain because the valet left a car in the holding area taking up all the room and we waited like a half hour for him to move it then finally take our truck. After that was smooth sailing.
I wanted a boutique hotel and that's what we got. I loved it. So old you could sense the history while also enjoying the modernized remodeling. Tranquility is found in the hummingbird garden and delicious food is literally next door. A walk away from many restaurants and bars and entertainment.
Lift is too small
Kemal the best and the most helpful receptionist
no bad experiences
helpfulness of staff, attractive clean rooms
Tiny small elevator, long time to get water warm out of shower head, no napkins in room, no breakfast
Friendly staff and quite comfortable bed and good internet
Location was mediocre at best.
The fact that you could hear your neighbors and every time someone used the restroom it sounded like a jackhammer was going off. Very annoying.
This location is convenient, though it seems not quite safe during the night. A lot of homeless on the street.
We like the location of Mark Twin Hotel. It's pretty close to center of downtown. Plus there is an excellent brunch place right by the hotel, Taylor Street Coffee shop, which we loved so much! Our overall experience at Mark Twin
About two blocks away from the hotel the area can be a little sketchy at night. But that's just San Francisco in the night time for you. I would recommend taking a cab home in the night time and not walking.
The staff was very friendly, the hotel was very modern. The bed is what won it over for me, it was extremely comfortable. Loved seeing signs around the hotel about saving water and recycling. Overall our stay was great, I would stay here again if ever visiting San Francisco. I would also recommend to friends.
We did complain to the receptionist about our glass cups in the room being dirty and crusty he did say he would get us a new set and we never did recovery new cups. Shower was rather dirty as well
The breakfast place next door Taylor's street cafe
we got a very dark room (2nd floor) very noisy -from room to room a bit expensive overall
for visiting SF, location is perfect despite the crowd outside (lots of homelesses but no agressivity) nice room - clean, modern furniture
Don't know if every room is the same, but we stayed in 511 and both nights could hear EVERYTHING happening in our neighbors rooms. Not the biggest deal though, as the ipod dock has waves or rain sounds that helped mask the noise. Also, if homeless people bother you, you probably shouldn't stay here...you probably shouldn't even come to the city though:)
Staff was excellent. Rooms are nice and relatively comfortable. Price is about right for being in the city.
Hearing all the traffic 24 hours. I got ear-plugs handed to me upon check-in ... I should have known
Room furniture was ok
Rooms were very clean. Staff very helpful.
Room was quite small for a queen deluxe Lift was very small and only had one so housekeeping staff were constantly trying to get in with trolleys etc Bathroom needed abit of tlc was clean but there was a tile missing off the floor Door locks wouldn't work
Bed was comfortable Location was good
Poor wifi. No airco
Excellent breakfast next door. Clean. Location good.
The walls of the room were really thin so we could hear everything in the room next ours but still slept well. Take wax ear plugs with you just in case.
Perfect location to visit San Francisco, if you are into walking, you can walk from the hotel to all the main touristic spots easily, nice decoration, perfect room and the best point was the really really nice staff !!
- The area is becoming desolate; many homeless people in adjacent streets - Some front desk staff not friendly/helpful
- Good, central location, short walk from Union Sq. and main shopping and business area - Two and a half blocks from cable car and CalTrain - A nice selection of nice and reasonably priced restaurants within short distance - A very interesting coffee shop next to the hotel - Some front desk staff very friendly and helpful (particularly Kemal)
Walls were a little thin so you can really hear othwr guests but it disnt bother me
Garden, location, helpful staff, cute interior, smelled great
Getting locked in the very small cupboard housing the ice machine (3rd floor). As I collected the ice, the door shut behind me and there was no handle to open the door from the inside! There was no signal on my cell phone so I banged on the door till another guest used her hotel key to let me out. Scary! Hotel was prompt in ordering repair and offering me a discount.
I enjoyed my week long stay at this hotel. I liked the Mark twain touches with furniture and decor from the era and photos and quotes from the great man himself. The reception staff were very helpful, the bed was comfy and the hotel was only minutes away from Union Square,
Some of the staff was a little rude but compared to the good staff we encountered it didn't affect our stay in any way.
Me and my husband loved the location considering there were a good amount of great restaurants near and we love to walk the city so we were pleased with the location, our room (especially the cleanliness) was great we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends
