Location very good and staff friendly.
Rooms very basic.
Specially the location, also the staff is very nice to the clients
I didnt like the fact that it was too much money for what it included.
The bed was comfy, the staff was nice
Located on a busy street with load people and cars. People were yelling on the street till about 3 in the morning. I was on the 7th floor and it sounded like I was on the first. No microwave or mini fridge.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable.
Water from faucet and shower head had hot water spurts quite often, which burned me. There is no thermostat to control the temperature. They were installing furniture while I was there, which tied up the elevators quite a bit.
the room was a bit small nut really nothing too much.
Unfortunately I did not get the gentlemans name when we check in but to my opinion he gave an ambiance to your hotel as classy. He was very courtious, friendly, and he dressed very professionally that I thought made the hotel classier to my opinion.
Nothing but if I had to maybe the elevator but we loved the stairs so it was not a big deal
Room was very noisy due to heavy traffic on Taylor Street even at night.
Nice staff. Room size larger than average for SF.
Poor ventilation in room. My room faced an alley and I heard yelling from it all night. Room furnishings are Spartan to say the least. Soft bed. Bathroom plumbing didn't work properly. No desk in room. Area surrounding the hotel is, well, questionable. Price point not good for value received.
a bed and Tv was all that was in the room. For 219.46 taxes added you should get at least one chair
Location was not good. No facilities in hotel for extra aminities. Charged for everything. No refrigerator, no chairs, bathroom too small for two people. Need safety bar in tub.
Good location and decoration inside, friendly receptionist. Everything is good.
The location of the Mark Twain is extremely close to Union Square (about 5 mins walk) and near enough to some nice cafes, there's a particularly good breakfast place next door. The facilities are also quite good, with comfortable bed, good shower/bath and TV. The concierge at the desk was particularly excellent (a tall blonde man who I think was called Alexander) being both very friendly and recommending some great spots and a general overview of the city. He provided a map on the morning we started exploring and highlighted the key sights, which really help make our time there as good as possible.
The hotel is currently under refurbishment and while it's quite stylish it's certainly in need of it. We were in a room overlooking the street and the windows were quite thin, leading to an issue with noise disturbance throughout the night. This can be solved fairly easily with earplugs however it was an issue on the first night. Also the hair dryer in the room was fairly weak which caused us a slight delay. Nothing major but something that would have been preferably avoided.
Location, coffee shop next door, quiet, big room.
Small elevator, old bathroom, noisy heater
Was attending a 3 day conference at the Hilton Union Square, so very handy location to that. Just had to cross the road.
A small fridge would have been good to have in the room.
Location was ideal for my trip. Price was reasonable
They were under staffed and the front desk was rude and unorganized
The staff were very efficient. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Air conditioning would have been nice
Very clean, friendly staff, free wifi
I did not like San Francisco much in general. The Mark Twain really has nothing wrong with it. It's on the edge of the worst part of town so be prepared for homelessness and people strung out screaming in the street.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms but still being updated.
Very noisy. Lots of street noise.
Front desk staff very nice and helpful
Rooms were very outdated, you could hear homeless fighting and screaming outside of rooms all night. The air freshner used at hotel was horrible gave me a headache.
good location .... updated room
bathroom too small
small elevator had to wait a lot. but last because the hotel was vintage!
Comfortable, well kept room; Pleasant and knowledgable staff; easy 24/7 accessibility.
No in-room courtesy bar; no viewing deck.
The bed was comfortable, clean room and showers/bathtub.
I asked for a room away from the street, didnt get that. It was very noisy due to construction happening somewhere outside, so I barely got any sleep. Thin walls as well.
All of the above
