Booking.com got the price wrong an we were charged more than the original deal
The price was great!
I had no idea it was a hotel at first. I couldn't find the entrance. I finally saw it the second time I went by (it was at night). Then, when I went to check in, the hotel's records didn't match mine. They had me checking in the following night! I showed them the email confirmation. They were all out of 2 double bed rooms for the night, but they upgraded us to a suite. I appreciated that, but my 17 year old son had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed, so I would have preferred what we booked.
I complained about poor wi fi reception in my room which resulted in an adjustment to the final bill, also lost my prescription glasses and they called me back when they were found and arranged to mail them to me that same day. Very pleased with customer service.
The rooms were spacious and the staff fairly helpful. The people who cleaned the rooms did a good job.
This hotel has clearly seen better days. The Internet connection is terrible, and things are a bit run down. Right off the highway, so pretty noisy. The hotel seems to be trying to save money on amenities and on upkeep.
Price and comfort and friendliness of staff. Excellent place to stay.
Comfortable room and a quiet night's sleep. I liked that the bedroom was separated from the hallway with the sitting room and had a closed door. This eliminated any noise coming from outside and enabled 1 person to sleep while the other could watch TV.
I like the fact that we only stayed one night.
Lobby music was so loud we could hear it in our room and had to call the desk after 11 pm to ask them to turn it off. I could hear the phone ring at the main desk from our room... all night. The bead was so hard it felt like a slab of concrete and the pillows were lumpy.
convenient location. Decent value for the money
Busy bar in building next to hotel entry blocked all parking spaces
Ease of access from highway. Exceptionally friendly owner/manager. Room was very quiet even though it faced the road. Elevator was very convenient to the room.
Although the room was comfortable, I would have preferred it cooler but the air conditioner did not work. Electronic room key had to be replaced twice.
* wifi * location -the fact it's opposite Bambu, Stanziato's and Stop & Shop so I can nip across to those places for breakfast, dinner and drinks
* fitness center (four pieces of equipment, one worked and think the only room in the hotel that didn't have AC on...!) * breakfast (lack of options, all cold sad looking food and room is cold, dark and smells of gas) * bed throw/top cover (fraying all over the place) * lighting - no windows and lighting in room dark so couldn't wait to get out of room!
Would not work with gps, had to wander around a bit to find it AC/Heat thermostat was not clear and I was too tired to study it for long Mattress was old, leaned to the side
The rooms were a decent size and pretty clean. The location was convenient.
The hotel entry smells like an ash tray. The staff was very strict about a 3 pm check-in although we were traveling from out of state and registered as part of a wedding which began at 3:30. The staff have us an extremely hard time and made us feel uncomfortable for booking on Booking.com rather than directly through the hotel. They tried to deny us access to the hotel shuttle due to this low booking priority, which was included as part of the wedding arrangements. The hotel also allows large dogs, which I did not notice at time of booking. The dog owners did not have control of their pets, keeping them on long leashes and allowing them to approach other guests in the lobby area. The manager or owner ( female) was extremely rude to us multie times on the day we checked in and was the complete opposite the next day when we checked out - sweet as honey. This was unfortunate because I regularly book hotels for conferences at work. I am always looking at possible options when I travel for personal reasons. I will always choose to book at Ethan Allen for work groups over the Maron. It took us 25 minutes to check out the next day as the attendant made a mistake, had to put in and take out the transaction from our computer twice. The restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday which was inconvenient. The continental breakfast consisted of 2 cold cereal choices, instant oatmeal packets, whole oranges, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee, and white plain bagels that could have been frozen. There were no hot food choices other than the oatmeal and no menu from which to order otherwise. The floors and carpet were very sticky.
Appearance was better than expected for the price
AC system was overwhelming no happy medium either you froze or had no ventilation. The breakfast offered was less than desirable and a mess utensils dirty and poor selection we had to go elsewhere to eat
The size of the room was great but the furniture and even the comforters were extremely out dated and warn. Holes and loose stitching on the comforter. Furniture had warn out areas and the cushions on the couch were not cushiony anymore!
Clean Friendly staff Next to Stop and Shop Microwave Refrigerator Suite for price of single room
Slow internet Sofa was too old
Great food in the hotel restaurant and convenient to other restaurants as well.
Clean and quiet
Breakfast was mediocre.
Located conveniently to where we needed to be. The room was spacious enough not to trip over one another. Housekeeping staff was very friendly. Most of the female staff members located at the front desk were friendly, smiled when approached, and used good eye contact when speaking with guests.
The male front desk staff we dealt with were not particularly friendly. A smile could go a long way in making guests feel welcome. The restaurant was very understaffed the one night we ate there. We would have used the restaurant more had the bartender not been the only server. No one was available in the restaurant during the continental breakfast hours to refill the one water pitcher used for the entire restaurant. The freezer section of the room refrigerator had no door to maintain the colder temperature necessary to keep items frozen, e.g., ice cream and cold packs for our cooler.
Proximity to interstate, restaurants, grocery and drug stores.
Price for the size of the room. Very clean, comfortable and extremely quiet.
Room needed some repair--the window was broken and the cracks were taped together with clear packing tape. Obviously maintenance was alerted, but they still need to replace the window. A piece of the door security latch was missing and could not be used. Though we put the deadbolt on we felt this needs to be fixed immediately to provide guests a sense of security.
The proximity to the highways and getting back home! Also close to the venue where the wedding was taking place!
Hard mattress and soiled carpeting.
Entrance and Lobby
Booking.com did not offer a non smoking room. Room smelled like cigarettes. AC did not work. Requested another room. 2nd room was already occupied. 3rd room was ok. Carpets were stained.
Wonderful price and great location
It was safe, clean and affordable. The location was a short ride to catch a commuter train into New York City. I would stay there again.
Property was quite dated and worn but clean. Continental breakfast was pathetic - no milk for cereal, no knives to butter toast, no trash cans to throw away refuse. Staff was not watching the area.
