Rooms were unclean, especially bathroom and the hotel think it is fine to carry out renovation work on the stairs in the morning at the busiest time when people want to come and go for the day.
staff and location close to subway
rooms horrible, they changed with an acceptable one after compliant. Noisy and a little bit cold
Very friendly staff, and convenient location situated next to an underground stop (103 Street). Also, has a Starbucks next door for those who, like me, need a caffeine boost in the mornings.
There are quite a few stairs, which I guess could perturb older visitors or those with children, but I didn't mind too much.
Good location, kind staff, room small but comfortable.
The room was located in a extremely noisy location. We were able to hear everything that other guests and staff were saying in the corridor.
Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Location next to Subway running north and south.
Small rooms, weak light bulbs, small closets, NO ELEVATOR so you have to walk up stairs to your room. This hotel has six floors. No coffee pot in room. I would say a little overpriced for the money you pay.
It was near enough to Central Park and right by the Subway so made it very easy to get around. There were lots of food options near by and bars/pubs if you wanted. Next door a starbucks. Very comfortable bed.
There were no lifts which wasn't too bad. We noticed there was dust on the bedside cabinets and the rooms were quite basic but for the price, not bad.
Location was great, beds were comfortable. The theme of the hotel was refreshing and different.
Bathroom was absurdly small. No fridge in the room. The real problem was that whenever the room next to mine ran any kind of water, it created an unbelievably loud noise that made it impossible to sleep. Unfortunately this resulted in a horribly restless night. After reporting this problem to the front desk, I was told to return to my room and that it would be looked into. I never heard back from anyone, and when I went to check out, no one addressed the issue (I checked out with the same person I complained to.) A hotel room is only so useful if you can't actually sleep in it.
Location is quite good - easy (60 seconds) access to the underground station, buses. Not too far from the Central park. Plenty of food shops and small eateries in the area. Room was cleaned every day. Shower gel provided, bed sheets were clean.
Room size is extremely small. Bathrooms definitely need renovation. No proper air conditioning. No fridge or minibar in the room. Very expensive for you get, but this is common for New York (Manhattan)- most hotels are quite old and expensive.
People very kind. Whisked our bags up the stairs so no worries about no elevator. Great location near the subway and easy taxis.
Bed soft and mushy in the middle
Nothing except the exotic name of the hotel that does not reflect the expected level of hospitality that people get in Marrakech.
First of all the room we got was not the one advertised online. From double queen room we ended up with a small twin Bed. Second, we had to climb 5 flight of stairs since there was no elevator. Then we discover the room that was dirty, the shower was not clean and the place was noisy. We had the worst night. Extremely disappointed by this hotel.
The location - next to a 1 train subway station, and in a mixed area with plenty of stores, bars, restaurants etc.
Small, cramped bedroom, noises in hotel easily heard in room.
Lobby has very cute Moroccan theme. Staff was really nice.
No screens on windows. Toilet had an annoying way of sounding sort of like it was flushing itself every 30 minutes.
Very close to the metro, close to good inexpensive eateries.
Room very small, with no view but expected this given it was not expensive by New York standards.
Located on uptown Broadway, very close to the subway this hotel is an ideal base to explore all NYC has to offer. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and the hotel was so clean
The only thing missing was tea and coffee facilities in the room but a Starbucks next door and many other cafés, restaurants and supermarkets close by solved the issue
Great location....nice shower in bathroom
Couldn't open window and A/C was so loud you couldn't hear the TV. Room was extremely small.
Location Staff were friendly and helpful Bar was handy
I didnt like the stairs! The safe security wasnt 100%
Staff were great. Great location! Handy for subway. Would stay again but only when 2 of us are traveling.
Rooms extremely small for 4 of us. Bathroom even smaller! Internet in communal area was poor!
Excelent location!!Door to door with Starbucks.Great for your morning coffee :)) The subway is two minutes away and takes you to any part of the city. You will have no problem in using it.But buy the metrocard. It will be less expensive. About the Hotel:Although you will find rooms very small, they are confortable and clean. Our room didn't have a closet but you can hang things on the door or put them on the chair(i know it's not perfect but you get used to it ;) ) I found the staff very helpful and nice. They will help you with the bags because there is no elevator.Prepare to workout ;) Besides all this, for those who have to workout, you will be fine:you have Riverside Park ten minutes away and Central Park maybe 15 minutes away. Supermarkets, pharmacies, places to eat...Location is great.Ohhh...almost forgot: the hotel provides transportation to the airport if required. Now go and have fun!
No closet(some rooms have it). Window can not be open. No elevator but hey! you are on vacations so just relax and think of it like a small exercise. ;))
Helpful staff Good wifi
Staff was helpful
In generally (shower, room) was not very clean (hair, dust). The carpet was damage at different sites. The air condition system was smelling bad and so loud, that sleeping was not possible. Down at ground floor of the staircase was a lot of litter and not moved away...
Cleanliness, lack of elevator
Very good location, starbucks on the ground floor, subway station just across the street, great restaurants. Staff was really friendly and helpfull.
I like the convenience to Subway. The beds and pillows are nice. The staff is very friendly. For newbies like me, they will tell you how much you should buy for subway card. It helped us a lot.
Small rooms with thin walls. I was still sleeping after a late flight, and I hear doors banging. Our room is up on 5th floor and there is no elevator. They can assist you with your bags, though. I'm ok using the stairs but the carpet design of it is not very safe. They should change the style into solid color rather than the stripes.
atmosphere very warm and friendly, staff helpful.
would like to have had a coffee maker in the lobby. no elevator
