Good location, well placed for subway.
Stairs tiring at the end of day, not a deal breaker though!
The staff were awesome, very helpful and friendly! Subway was right outside, so easy access around Manhattan. Very comfortable and good value for money! Thank you hotel Marrakech
Wifi was slow and sometimes didn't work at all. But not a massive issue!
Staff Very Very friendly and willing to help with all!
NO ELEVATOR! We did not know about this before we signed the internet contract. After it was too late! Cannot stay for more than two nites...
The staff were very helpful and full of suggestions on things to do and places to go. The hotel was a few steps away for the 1 subway line which was perfect for getting around the city.
There is no elevator in this hotel - staff were happy to help with bags etc
The bathroom was very cold.. No central heating.
Great location next to Central Park, different kinds of restaurants around and the subway right at the door. We have spent a family week holiday in New York and we had chosen this hotel for its very near location to the subway. At our arrival, the radiator of our room had an important leak of water and steam which caused a big noise and a strong bad smell due to the wet carpet. We were immediately placed into another room so that was very kind. In general the staff was kind and helped us when we asked for directions, airport shuttle, etc.
In general the bathroom and bed were clean however I don’t think the hoover visited our room much… The first day I spotted some jelly beans under the table and they were still there at our departure. We also had two issues with the towels; First of all, we always left our towels on the racks as we didn’t mind to use them a few days but they were always refolded and rearranged which made us think that they were changed everyday. Nevertheless, the only day we left them on the floor because we wanted them to be changed, we found them again folded and rearranged. It wasn’t very nice having to use the towels that you know had been on the floor (I know they were the same towels because I cleaned my eyes the day before and I realize I had left some eye make up in a corner). The day after that they finally changed the towels but they forgot to bring a new set (which is completely understandable) so when we arrived in the evening around 22.30h I called the lobby and they told me if I could wait 20-30min and the night staff would bring them to the room (apparently the staff of the day were about to leave and those for the night were coming). Ok, we understand, so the four of us wait half an hour to have our much desired shower before going to bed. Our surprise comes when we call the lobby again around 23.10h because no one had come to the room and they tell us that they no longer provide towels at night!!! At the end, my mum and myself had a little shower and dry ourselves with a hand towel that we had brought with us. We didn’t complain much at that moment but we actually don’t understand how they could tell us to wait and then don’t provide the towels that had been forgotten…
The staff was friendly. One of them lent us the kettle to boil water.
They glossed an email where I asked if the bed was two separate beds or one queen sized bed. There is no kettle in the rooms. Right around 6 -7 am, the housekeepers made a lot of noise while cleaning and for many nights we were woken up way too early disrupting our sleep. Also my towel wasn't changed on all nights. Simply folded the old one back. Room was too small and there wasn't a safe deposit box.
Convenient Location Staff nice and polite
No closet in the room! Not even a single hook to hang one piece of clothing! Even if there's no room for a closet in the the tiniest "delux double room" I have ever come across in my life, they could at least put a few hooks on the walls and in the bathroom for guests to hang their clothes. The room was very dark and the window opened to an adjacent wall! The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the walls so thin, it was as if people were talking in our room . We didn't manage to sleep at all the night before a very important job interview. Our room was also close to the cleaners' sitting area, so every morning we woke up to their very loud discussions, not sure if they were arguing or just talking as it was in Spanish, but definitely something no one wants to wake up to early in the morning. Water in the room was cold in the mornings, so had to shower at noon or later in the day. Overall an uncomfortable stay.
Superior Queen Room was very spacious, very comfortable bed, male staff at front desk were excellent, subway stop right outside with great connections to mid town and downtown, plenty of places to eat in the vicinity
Room was ridiculously hot due to central heating (on the first night we kept waking up drenched in sweat). Called front desk to complain and were told to use the air conditioner to cool down the room. We had to have the air conditioner running full time when we were in the room which was unpleasant. There were mosquitos in the room even though it was November and I got bitten on 3 separate nights. Strong smell of cigarette smoke coming up through bathroom drain. Bathroom very shabby with chipped shower basin. Hallways generally looking run down. We had to pay to store our bags at the hotel for the day when we checked out. I accept this is a budget hotel for New York but having paid in excess of $200 AUD per night for our stay we didn't feel like it was good value at all.
The staff were warm, pleasant and very receptive, regardless of what time of day
Just how small the corridors were. Everything else was GREAT
Charge for leaving luggage, poor heating (centrally managed), poor maintenance.
Close to Tom's and Abbys Pub
staff was excellent. so much fun and always helpful! location was great. cute little neighborhood with excellent restaurants and bars nearby. close to the subway and central park. would stay there again and again!
stairs were a little rough after all day walking around NYC.
I liked the fact that it is right beside Starbucks and it was very close to Central Park. We had easy access to resturants and shopping centres.
I personally did not like that there were no elevators. We had to walk a long flight of stars. I also did not like that in the price there were no breakfast included. They did not have a mini fridge to store or to buy any snacks.
Wifi very poorly received
The staff was warm, friendly, helpful, and accommodating; the rooms were small and simple but very clean and decorated in a fun style; and the gathering area/bar was a great place to hang out during the day and for evening drinks.
I missed a few amenities, e.g. a fridge, iron+ironing board, coffee maker, and hot (vs. warm) water, but I'd still return for a visit.
We arrived to a tiny room but the guy on reception suggested that although they had no rooms for the first night that they would be able to move us the next day to a larger room. In the morning the girl on reception wasn't so helpful but we were moved into a room that was 3 times the size of the 1st which was great.
The wifi in the second room was very intermittent
Location, friendly staff, clean room
Small room, couldn't open the window
Friendly staff, comfy bed, very clean. The place had a great personality and the location was brilliant - subway station right out front and lots of local breakfast options!
Even for New York standards the room was noisy - I could cope with the outside noise, but whenever my neighbours flushed the toilet, the noise roared through my room! Once I found my earplugs, that problem was solved. Also access to this hotel is via a steep staircase - staff helped with bags, but a lift would have been nice!
I love the location, the friendly & helpful staff, the cleanliness, the comfortable bed. I'd definitely stay here again.
It would have been nice if each room came with a kettle. The stairs are a bit much but then again it was good exercise for me!
This hotel is amazing. The staff is very helpful. The room is very clean since the first day, the bed is very comfortable. The water is VERY HOT. If hot water is a priority for you, you'll be in heaven. The location is amazing: metro station within 20 seconds of walking. Take the express train and you'll be in Times Square in less than 10 minutes.
Nothing only location
It was close to university my daughter attends.
I stayed for 5 days, the room carpet got vacuumed only once, trash in the room not pick up,you can hear water running, toilet flushing, people talking, the walls seem to be thin,no elevators in the hotel, not easy to go up and down with belongings.
Lovely staff Reasonable price for NYC Excellent location next to subway that takes you straight down Manhattan island (easy access to times square and battery park) Starbucks right downstairs Comfy lounge bar near reception
Cold rooms - but blankets provided upon request Noisy streets (unavoidable in NYC) Patchy wifi on the second floor
