Second vist. Found a home in NYC!
We arrived at the hotel around 7am after a red-eye flight from the west coast and couldn't check in until 1pm even though people started checking out around 9am. There were quite a few groups waiting but the cleaning staff didn't show up until 11am and the first rooms weren't available until 1pm. Also the shower water was cold on my last day.
The guys who helped with luggage, directions, conversation and heeling cabs were very good.
The small entrance and dark narrow staircase up to reception. This area was very shabby and not cleaned regularly
Great room with excellent view of Broadway. Stylish lounge and very friendly staff
Small rooms. Overhead light didn't go fully off and glowed dimly all night. Clocks were 1 hour off.
Staff was very friendly and price was low for NYC..
Registration desk is on second floor and the only access is a very narrow stairway; there is no elevator in the building.
Good location, very close to subway station, several good restaurants nearby on Broadway, and bar in lobby is inexpensive (for New York).
The hot water tank is on its way out. needs to be replaced - hot showers were hit and miss.
The location was great - just across from subway station and short walk to Central Park. The staff are really very nice and friendly. Its a good budget hotel - a bit noisy due to thin walls so beware if a light sleeper.
a lot of thiNgS. Decor. Staff were not helpful. No elevators so you have to carry your luggage to your room. Initial entrance is very poor. Cleanliness is no good. Dusty room. Unclean bathroom.
the bed. It was plain of course, but it was the only good thing in my room. Maybe it's because I didn't check properly.
had troubles with overheating due to centralized heating system; taken care of once notified, without huge success, though. narrow staircase, without elevator (but staff always ready to bring stuff upstairs if needed, so not an huge issue after all)
location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff
The facilities have not been maintained. 2 out of 4 days we did not have hot water. The power went off and on numerous times. The wifi is slow. The beds were old or stiff. We were moved to another room but had the same issues.
The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.
For 2 of the 4 days we stayed there we did not have hot water so were unable to shower. Poor !!!!!!!!!!
Friendly staff and good location
Small room, no chair, no space to locate clothes. Working in the room impossible. One of three days only cold water from the shower.
Close to the subway. Staff was friendly
Two out of three days I had no or only lukewarm (at most) warm water. The rooms were smelly.
Some days it was very cold, then they put on the heating system and it was too hot in the room, no chance to regulate.some days no hot water for the shower. Not really nice in winter.
The hotel is right next to the Metro Station, there are diners, cafes and restaurants around. Nice interior and new bathroom.
The staff was very helpful. The room is completely renovated. It feels like a locally-owned hotel rather than a chain:).
stairs on arrival a shock, I have bad knees, no help with cases, tiny room hardly any wardrobe space, no hot water in sink, radiator came on when it was 20 deg outside, was told it would switch off when it overheated, 3AM! Was like a sauna! Only sold beer or wine in the tiny bar, $7 a small bottle, the list goes on.....
located near family, friendly staff
The lack of an elevator. Having to wait always for luggage porters. The dim lighting in the room The traffic noise
The location to the 1 subway.
Since it is an older building there were some plumbing issues and room was cold; however the heater they brought up warmed up the room completely. The room was very clean when we arrived, but it wasn't always cleaned well during our stay. Again, anything I bright to e staff's attention was immediately rectified.
You need to be in good health to stay here because there are a lot of stairs. The staff brought our luggage up and down. It was subway close and Starbucks and mini-market with fresh fruit were close. Friendly staff was amazingly helpful and responsive to requests. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others.
That really big guy in the white shirt & tie was a bit gruff. The pillows, like many hotel pillows, really stunk, and they did not have any other type. Our room was on the street side, and so a bit loud at times, but that's NYC--nothing a little white noise and a pillow on the head couldn't take care of. My biggest complaint was that the hot water wasn't always so hot--downright cold on one shower. And I got very cold because the radiator was off. Had a hard time regulating the room temp.
The staff was (mostly) very nice and friendly, especially Jason and the female bartender. Very helpful, super fast to respond to requests. The hotel itself as well as the room was very nice. When I called down about being cold, the maintenance guy was at the door with an electric space heater in a flash.
Great location as subway was right putdide hotel and lots of places to eat .
smell of recent paint job in the room. small room, I meen really small.
Friendly employés okay bed
Uncomfortable room - no bedside lamps, soft, lumpy mattress.
Nice, friendly staff.
No elevator, steep stairs, old funky carpet in hallway, stairs and lobby. Tiny room and lukewarm water with inadequate pressure, raggedy towels. Slow wifi.
Location is awesome, subway entrance for red line right outside. Comfortable bed, room was clean, very friendly and helpful staff..
The window in the bathroom was left open on our arrival and the room was cold, the heating is central and they came with a small electrical heater that took all the remaining room (very tiny rooms). Then in the morning no hot water in the shower. We noticed the front desk at 6am and nothing was done because the person in charge was not there. We had to go to work with no shower! - tiny room not that clean (found a piece of jewellery in the bathroom) - No control on the temperature of the room - NO HOT WATER!! - too expensive for what it is
Lovely family room and comfortable beds, no breakfast and no soft drinks in bar area for children , good value for money.
No elevator, but it wasn't any trouble at all, Staff were willing to help with our luggage
Great location on 103rd street on Broadway, Subway station right outside of the Hotel and a Starbucks located on the site as well, not too far of a walk to Central Park either only a few blocks away. Staff very helpful and willing to help with luggage if you want. Would stay here again
