Location Starbucks on property Cleanliness Helpful staff
Cost Floor plan for is a maze
It is dated. The look and feel of the room is just old. It feels like a Marriott Courtyard in a suburb somewhere. Also you can hear everyone slamming doors early in the morning.
Excellent location! Central to just about everywhere we planned to go or easy to get back if we went away from the union square area. Very friendly staff. Concierge gave us loaner umbrellas when it was drizzling outside, as well, which was a first that I've experienced. Will comeback to this hotel when I visit SF!
I love this hotel the moment I walked in, beautiful lobby, the check in was fast. The front desk staff were helpful and very professional. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and my view was amazing. The location is perfect. I will definitely stay here again.
There was no iron in my room but then I did not call the front desk.
Location, lovely beds and toiletries
No free wi-fi- practically unheard of nowadays!!
Staff and bed comfort
uncleanliness of room
Mildew on the shower walls that I could scrape off. Really bad and very visible!!
Great location with wonderful amenities! We had a wonderful time!
Excellent location, Starbucks and a bar & grille in the lobby, nice view from the room, and the room itself was spotless and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They're also extremely helpful. I happened to mention to housekeeping in the morning that I had recently had surgery and found it difficult to prop myself up with their very soft pillows the night before. When we returned later that day, I had more pillows on my bed that were both bigger and slightly harder. I wish I had gotten the lady's name because I truly appreciated the extra pillows.
The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but still very nice. The hotel itself is located on 4th street which is a great central location. However, if you go West towards 6th street, the area starts getting a bit sketchy. I would highly recommend walking in groups if you're headed that way. Especially if you're a female and/or it's dark. We went around in groups of 3+ and were still approached by questionable individuals that had us walking at a quick pace to get back to the safety of the hotel faster. Check out was a little unusual. We got up at 6am and found our bill had been slipped under our door. We were really taken aback. It's almost as if they were saying, "Hey, thank you so much for staying with us - now, please leave." But I'm sure that's just a more efficient way for them to get everyone organized for an easier check out.
Location is excellent - two mins walk to Macy's / Westfield / Bloomingdale / Apple store, etc. around Union Square. Good top floor bar - The View, with panoramic view of SF bay. On higher floor you can see financial district and oakland bridge in your room.
No breakfast Hotel guests have to pay US$7 every time for access to sauna (non-hotel guests pay US$20)! You will pay for wifi connection if you're not Marriott club member.
Good location, the BART station and several bus lines stop are just 5-mins walk away. Union Square is also very close.
The decoration is not exactly what I saw on the webpage, which my wife was not so happy about.
Good location Friendly staff
Second visit to the Marriott Marquis. Very busy with business meetings but great location, maybe a little over priced.
Its we'll located. Near downtown, trolleys, market, rest, etc.
For what We paid we have stayed in 5 star hotels in NYC at upper east side. The room was clean but nothing comparable to the pictures they show on the page, they are old rooms.
Nice big hotel. Location is excellent. Walking distance to Union Square, Caltrain station, Market st. (very near). Room was good, quiet and clean. Bed and pillows were so comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. Couldn't try the food or any other amenities because we went out all day. Also stayed at the Hilton, liked this Marriott better.
I didn't like the same as everybody else: No free wifi in the room. You have to go down to the lobby for wifi. The price is too high. Be careful not to trip on the minibar, or even look at it too much.. it has sensors, once you pick up something it will be charged (overcharged) automatically. The shower doesn't have settings, it shoots narrow water strings that sting! Very uncomfortable.
location king sized bed room & facilities
Coffee shop closed on Sundays
Room was quiet, and clean
Bathroom tub tile had mold and mildew. Not updated. Appliances such as hair dryer and iron were old, did not work well. Had to call to get a fridge to store personal items - could not move items in fridge because of sensors. The staff was quick to deliver a small fridge.
Location was brillaint, super comfy
Had to pay for wifi after paying alot for stay you would expect it to be free like the cheaper hotels we stayed in whilst in usa, & breakfast wasn't included and was over priced
high quality property, every part of the facility was pristine and fit the star rating. The staff was incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions.
It was 96 degrees outside, I'm pretty sure this is like a solar eclipse for San Francisco. With that being said, the air conditioning in our room didn't work very well, so it was quite a bit warmer than we would have liked. Other than that, the room was great.
Other than the fact that it was an attractive facility, we didn't care for much else.
Here are a few of the issues. There was a hole in the middle of the marble tile in the bathroom that almost cut my toe off. I reported it and was told it was an engineering issue and nothing was done. Molding was protruding from the bathroom sink. Same response. The supposed extra seating area was a single chair. The remote did not work. No soap when we arrived. Coffee pot missing. While trying to print boarding passes the computer screen locked with all my personal credit card info displayed. Used house phone but no one came. I could not leave the area and was waving my arms and doing jumping jacks in the lobby to get anyone's attention. The concierge desk and check in staff and others saw me and pointed to me as if I were an idiot and didn't assist me. I finally steeped away and grabbed someone. No tech people. A mechanic helped. So many more issues. Could not wait to leave.
Very friendly, accommodating and pleasant staff. The location seemed primed to explore the city. Impressive lobby and nicely decorated room with a comfy bed and quiet a/c. There was an in room coffee maker, but check inside the cabinets.
Charge for the internet of appx. 14.00 seems like a cheesy way to get money for a higher end hotel. I like to have a fridge in the room. They were available from housekeeping...no idea if there was a charge.
Nice and friendly staff.
Hotel is a bit dated. Lack of warmness in the room, very much office-like. Overall this hotel is probably best for business trips, not for a family stay. Overpriced breakfast ($20 for coffee, glass of juice, and a toast!).
Room was very nice, consierge was very helpful.
Too expensive for what you get. Neighborhood was a bit chaotic, not the best neighborhood. Very much a downtown city feel, except not the upscale feel.
