Great location! The bar upstairs had an awesome view of the city. Great place to meet for cocktails! Staff was friendly and helpful. The best part of my morning was being able to get Starbucks and never having to leave the hotel because its right in the lobby area.
The price I paid for my room because of a convention (sold out other hotels) was extremly high.
obscene charge for parking, $75/night is usury will never stay there again just for that reason. obscene
The room was beautiful, with a great view!!!
After we returned from our wedding ceremony our room was not cleaned. Notified the staff at 5:00 and waited close to 2 hours for the room to be cleaned and be notified back. Drinks in the lounge were to be comped and they were not.
My birthday, just after Christmas, was excited to spend 3 nights in San Francisco. I had stayed in the Marriott marquis in other cities and was never disappointed. This time, I was. The staff gave out incorrect information, gave us a room with a noisy AC unit as our view, the bed wasn't made (sheets didn't even fit the bed properly), it didn't feel clean, not very modern, no fan in bathrooms, pop corn ceiling, dirty windows, old TV, just a overall dirty feel. The pool area was an embarrassment. Old furnishing, screaming children by the handful and no towels! Everything that was and is described on their website is certainly not true. It's not a spa like hotel at all. I felt more stressed leaving than when I first arrived. Because it wasn't enjoyable or relaxing. The heater/ AC was terrible and when we asked for 2 champagne flutes and a bucket for the champagne to be delivered to our room for my birthday, they tried to charge us $15! They gave us dirty flutes glasses that were different sizes to one another. Hello...attention to detail please when you're paying their prices. The towels were hard and noy soft and the staff didn't have any ideas about the area and where to go. We were also looking forward to the scenic bar, they had told us over the phone how great it was. Turns out, it was closed and had been for a while. Construction works over the 3 days outside. I could seriously go on and on, but I feel I have alreafy wasted enough time on talking about what a bad hotel it was.
Bed was comfortable
The customer service needs improvement receptionist nice everyone else not so much. Also the construction was on the side of my room. Very loud and wasn't adviced when I checked in.
Close to the shopping my wife wanted to do.
Price to pay for parking
very good gym; great beds & bedding
low ceiling rooms
Location, city view, room
Staff was very accommodating. Short stay, but it was convenient to the awesome mall!
Took forever to get hot water, room service muffins were cold, small & stale! Expensive for 1 pot coffee! Valet parking pricey too! It's an older hotel, but after a long trip it was just fine!
That I was in downtown San Francisco.
The bar at the top floor was under construction.
Location, location, location
Price, lack of amenities.
The value for the location and amenities
Rooms are bit tricky to find or get to, not quite as user friendly as most hotels
Great location (near Apple Store and many other stores).
Hotel charges an expensive price to hold packages shipped to guests.
60$ for parking /day
Location, location, location
no exhaust fan in bathroom so mirrors got fogged up every time the shower was used
At check-in with the booking.com reservation I asked for the best room they had high up with a view. The desk person looked, apologized for taking a long time (I told her not to worry), and the room assigned was fantastic. High up with a view out three sides!!
My friend and I stayed at the Marriott from January 1-6 while we were in SF visiting family (we are from Boston). We liked the Marquis. It was clean, renovated, beds were comfortable. We used the pool, which was clean and a good size. We stayed on the 21st floor and had a "city view" room. It was pretty quiet and the view was pretty nice.
Hotel is in sort of a weird area. The neighborhood touches the tenderloin, and it's near very touristy shops, within walking distance to Chinatown. Far from a lot of nice restaurants, which are primarily in the Mission district. Unfortunately the bar up on the top floor of the hotel was closed for renovations, because I'm sure it would've had amazing views.
Good bed, easy access to shops and restaurants on foot
Public areas rather dark. Noisy internal and external construction underway during visit, and 39th floor also out of bounds due to renovation.
Dirty Beth Tub
The location is excellent, so close to Muni/Bart and the cable car and walking distance to Union Square, shopping downtown, and Chinatown. The room was large and the beds were soft. The bathroom was large as well. Good selection of tv stations. The a/c and heater work well. Fridge and safe in the room. Quick room-service and elevators. Good value of the room if you book ahead. Nice lighting in the room. Free wifi in the lobby.
Pillows were ok. You could slightly hear the people walking above you in the room on the higher floor. Plastic hygienic bags in the bathrooms would have been nice for female guests.
La ubicación es excelente. Cerca de zona muy céntrica y punto de partida para muchos lugares. Location is the best. The hotel is near from everywhere. Beautilfull places including but no limited to: Mall, stores, subway, cable car, historical places, chinatown and much more.
Room was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. A room was found for us nearer the elevator by the bellman when he saw that one of us had difficulty walking.
No housekeeping service on several days. Would have left a tip otherwise. Had to ask for fresh towels and soap.
This hotel is beautiful, clean, spacious, comfortable...everything we wanted for the perfect stay! :)
Staff courtesy was excellent and paid attention to detail. Great location of hotel. Gym was fantastic size and impressive. Bin 55 - you guys keep it up. Lovely people all over Good food choices. Prices were reasonable.
