Excellent staff - real premiere customer service, good check in, great concierge service - Adelia Cott just about the most helpful and interesting member of any hotel staff anywhere! The room cleaning staff leaving thank you notes for tipping. The great guy at check out.
Paying for WIFI is such a rubbish thing - come on Marriott - catch up!
Close to everything that we wanted to see and do.
room location. mention that is a construction going on...
The location was everything we really enjoyed being in the center of it all. Literally walkable to any prime location in San Francisco and the bustling shops and restaurants were nearby too. Staff was super helpful and attentive to our needs especially Juan at the front desk! Thank you for reassuring me about the elevators since I had a fear :) we highly recommend this hotel to everyone visiting San Francisco.
Nothing - everything was great.
Great location. Easy access to public transportation.
Location of hotel, room decor and comfort
Very expensive for just one night when you include parking charges.
Hotel is conveniently located in SoMA, which is next to Union Square, room was clean and nicely designed, with a spacious bathroom and incredibly quiet AC (inverter). Nice view!
We were charged $86 restaurant bill, and we haven't even entered this restaurant. Fortunately it was taken off us. Also there are snacks in the rooms that can automatically be charged upon picking up, and what is interesting, that the note informing about that is hidden behind the snacks! Tricky...
Great location, clean.
Driving across town from 5A5 on Valentine's Day took nearly 1 hr. Upon arriving at Marriot valet, one customer blocked the main entrance and I, along with a few other honking customers on Mission St, were left wondering why for a good 15-20 min. Terrible first impression. I expressed my concerns with management and they were nice enough to grant me complimentary parking $65, but I was left wondering if the time and grief was worth it.
Hotel and room was nice overall. The view bar was amazing.
Reserved king bedroom but the staff didnt have any available when i checked in. They made no attempt to reconcile the fact they most likely sold my reservation to someone who paid more, not using booking.com. They only said that if i paid more, i could have the king bed with the view i reserved. So, my fiance and i had to sleep in seperate beds on Valentines day. We will no go back.
Convenient location. Quality of room. Indoor heated swimming pool.
On checking out were were presented with an unitemised bill from the bar which was around $20 more than we expected. The check out clerk could not find the bar tab, but said they would forward it by e-mail. This has failed to happen, but they have charged our credit card the full amount, which is disappointing.
I'd have expected free wifi in hotels of this price league. almost USD 15 per day is not state of the art in my opinion. All other things were excelent.
Bar on the 37th floor has a great view!!!
You can noy order food after 10 pm
location, staff were friendly
price was extremely high due to the conference attendance
The hotel was pretty nice for the most part and in a great location.
We arrived pretty late, around 1am, it took the staff nearly 2 hours to bring our bags up, we called a few times and they kept sending staff up to the room with everything but our luggage. Also, was pretty shocked when I left and received a surprise charge of $130 for parking (just 2 days) it would have been nice if there was some kind of notice or warning about the rates of parking because we are rewards members and stay at a lot of marriotts all over the country and have never ever had to pay for parking before.
Very friendly staff from check in to check out. One friendly staff member spent time walking us around the lobby pointing out nearby ATM's and advising us on using the hotel's free access to airplane check in service. Five stars for her assistance.
I think the charge for connecting to wifi is a bit outrageous. I've stayed in much less expensive hotels and had free access. Shame on you piling fees onto your guests who are willing to pay for costly rooms.
Wifi bit expensive
The bed was super comfortable and the hotel was pleasant. The restaurant/bar on the 39th floor was cool and what a view! I'll stay here again.
The rooms could be a little cleaner. For example, shampooing the carpet and letting guests enjoy "shoes off" in their room. I found that though everything was updated and looked pretty good, a little more detail in how the rooms are maintained would earn a better rating.
Great location! The bar upstairs had an awesome view of the city. Great place to meet for cocktails! Staff was friendly and helpful. The best part of my morning was being able to get Starbucks and never having to leave the hotel because its right in the lobby area.
The price I paid for my room because of a convention (sold out other hotels) was extremly high.
obscene charge for parking, $75/night is usury will never stay there again just for that reason. obscene
The room was beautiful, with a great view!!!
After we returned from our wedding ceremony our room was not cleaned. Notified the staff at 5:00 and waited close to 2 hours for the room to be cleaned and be notified back. Drinks in the lounge were to be comped and they were not.
My birthday, just after Christmas, was excited to spend 3 nights in San Francisco. I had stayed in the Marriott marquis in other cities and was never disappointed. This time, I was. The staff gave out incorrect information, gave us a room with a noisy AC unit as our view, the bed wasn't made (sheets didn't even fit the bed properly), it didn't feel clean, not very modern, no fan in bathrooms, pop corn ceiling, dirty windows, old TV, just a overall dirty feel. The pool area was an embarrassment. Old furnishing, screaming children by the handful and no towels! Everything that was and is described on their website is certainly not true. It's not a spa like hotel at all. I felt more stressed leaving than when I first arrived. Because it wasn't enjoyable or relaxing. The heater/ AC was terrible and when we asked for 2 champagne flutes and a bucket for the champagne to be delivered to our room for my birthday, they tried to charge us $15! They gave us dirty flutes glasses that were different sizes to one another. Hello...attention to detail please when you're paying their prices. The towels were hard and noy soft and the staff didn't have any ideas about the area and where to go. We were also looking forward to the scenic bar, they had told us over the phone how great it was. Turns out, it was closed and had been for a while. Construction works over the 3 days outside. I could seriously go on and on, but I feel I have alreafy wasted enough time on talking about what a bad hotel it was.
Bed was comfortable
The customer service needs improvement receptionist nice everyone else not so much. Also the construction was on the side of my room. Very loud and wasn't adviced when I checked in.
Close to the shopping my wife wanted to do.
Price to pay for parking
very good gym; great beds & bedding
low ceiling rooms
