Theywere very friendly and the location was great just depends on where you spend your time. Close to water but further from the centre of town.
The onky gjing I didn't like was that we didn't earn any Marriott rewards points as we booked via booking.com and there is nothing that tells us that on your site. Very disappointed.
Double charging accommodation. Not friendly staff at all.
Pearl Harbour was fantastic and well worth the visit.
A resort fee of $30 dollars a day was charged on top of the room rate and tax without advance notice.
Excellent all round. I would definitely stay here again.
helpful, friendly staff
key-cards repeatedly demagnetize for no apparent reason. reception each time sets another code. with two persons in the room there is always a problem entering the room. moreover front desk requests ID. I do not go swimming with ID.
Fab staff & room, short but fab stay. Booked city view room & got a partial ocean view room on 30th fl w views of the Royal Hawaiian & had 2 balconies! They also let me have another hour to checkout.
Had 3 nights in the previous week so decided to stay before returning to Australia.
On the first day greeting with luggage. Travel tour man really helpful.
Run down, Noisy, could hear people in neighbouring rooms. Nothing provided in room eg milk for coffee. Charged a resort fee - not advised of this when booked. Rude luggage handler when came back to collect luggage - was not given a luggage ticket and he made such a fuss, we came back later. View a blocked view of beach.
I attended a conference in Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and stayed there for 7 nights. The special conference price was a few dollars more expensive than what was available through Booking.com, which I then naturally used in the reservation. Upon checking in I was told by the Marriot receptionist that there was a daily $30 resort fee that every guest in the hotel pays. This was a lie, since the next day the conference organizers informed us that those who booked through the conference's hotel reservation system did not have to pay the resort fee. So naturally I went to talk to the receptionist about this. She offered to bring her manager into the conversation, which I was happy to do as I hoped to resolve the situation. The manager repeated the lie that every guest in the hotel pays the resort fee, and she only clarified after I told her that I'm attending the conference and that I knew otherwise. I had done my booking one month in advance, and I explained to the manager that of course I would have booked with the conference price, had I known that it does not come with a mandatory resort fee unlike the Booking.com reservation. I also told her that I did not need any of the resort fee "entitlements" (wifi, drink ticket, guided fitness class, $10 discount from surfing lessons...), and that it would be very inappropriate to bill my employer for those activities. At this point of the discussion it was clear however, that the manager was not there to find a solution that we both could agree on, but rather to shove down the resort fee down my throat because I had missed the small print about resort fees in Booking.com (no mention about it being mandatory there though) and was not properly informed by the conference organizers. So, congratulations Marriot: Even though I presented my unique circumstances and tried to reach a compromise, your inflexible staff managed to squeeze an extra $210 out of me in the form of resort fees.
Very clean rooms. Convenient place to stay.
Resort fees and parking fees were expensive.
Excellent hotel! Clean and staff was very helpful and friendly lots of great ammenities and great location!
Beds were a bit soft for me....
Great location - did I mention about this? Great if you're travelling with kids - two decent size pools, plus the beach in front has great shade in the morning and the man-made sea-pool is great for the little ones (super calm water) Quiet - couldn't hear a thing from the outside, and I stayed in the lower floor of the old, taller tower. Service - great folks, always ready to help you out Shops - shops in the lobby area + a Hertz car rental
Resort fee - you kidding me? The only way you would take advantage of the "benefits" is if you never got out of the hotel. This is a rip-off fee that all the hotels in the area charge
The view of Waikiki beachfront from my balcony - the central location - the café overlooking the beach.
The 'hard sell' from the woman in the Beauty Salon, giving out free samples and then trying to force you to buy other products. The young concierge who couldn't give me information about the trolley buses but tried to sell me a helicopter ride instead!
Its like a factory... Extremly busy The rooms have the min necessities but nothing great to write home about ...
Location, view, concierge service (Stephanie) & express checkout. Carina on front desk was excellent and very helpful/professional. Bed was amazing, so comfortable.
It's a good value, location, and service. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The half price Sushi hour is amazing and a tremendous value. The happy hour drinks are reasonably priced and there's a ton of conveniences on the property
The pool is just ok; over-chlorinated and plain. The hot tub the same. Also, there's a ton of people at this resort though and a whole lot of children. The elevators in the tower closest to the beach take forever. Huge lines waiting. Twice we were the first ones waiting and by the time the elevator got there, it was at the opposite end of the bank of 5 elevators we were waiting at and we weren't able to get on cause so many people rushed in.
The staff especially the front desk and the concierge staff was world class. They helped us set up a one dAy volcano trip to the Big Island and use of the Hospitality Room.
The rooms were a bit small and having to re sign on to the wifi every 4 hours was a bit bothersome. Would have loved to understand the property layout, we had no info on property restaurants or the pool.
Good location, lots of things to do around the hotel.
Price, hotel was not very clean, the elevator walls in particular were filthy, they had body soil caked on them from where people had leaned against them.
Service from housekeeping very good.Housekeeping staff very pleasant .Hotel very cean room large great out out look.
Housekeepingdidnot like atitude of bell desk.Twice trird for assistans with cases both on arrival & departing, in end struggled our selfs, also ask for them to ring for a taxi was just handed receiver. For monie payed expected better.Didnot see much benifet from the $30+ taxes per night.
Good beds and pillows Location adjacent to beach Good view towards Diamond Head
Poor value for money compared with comparable properties in Waikiki Pool area not up to scratch for a resort hotel Expensive resort fee for little benefit
Great location that can walk to Waikiki beach which's just across the street. Nice internet and IDD calls service, though the Resorts fee is pretty high ($30 per day).
The room cost was highest one compared with the others hotels we stayed in Hawaii. It felt worst when they told us there was no king size bed room, but I did leave message that we need one! Room was cold even we closed air condition.
Excellent location and ideal for tours very friendly staff
The pool was nice.
Didn't like the shower in the room.
Right on the beach and easy to access all the touristy stuff. the facilities cover everything you need - but has been a while since the refurbishment and getting a little tired and grubby, we were there a few years ago and did like it so went back.
the room booked vs what was offered. we asked for a room no higher than 8th floor (fear of height issues.) and specifically booked a room with two double beds - this was a key request and what we were paying for. When we got there told none available and that we would have a single roll out trundler - for 4 of us staying 11 nights that was unacceptable. My wife had to demand a better match to our booking - after a number of request, much to the distaste of the staff we were upgraded to a better room as it was the only one that had two beds. So they did have them but they had given ours out and weren't willing to upgrade us until we kicked up a fuss. this is the second time we have stayed at the Marriott Waikiki - and it will be the last.
Good size room with partial view of the sea - everything was clean. The restaurant had a great buffet breakfast.
Guy in room next door two mornings in a row waking me up with yelling at the top of his lungs - good morning to someone (on the phone I guess) - way over the top intrusion - however apart from his yelling out - he seemed to leave early to go out. Also there were incredible delays with the lifts with a busy hotel you could wait 10 mins or longer. Also when we booked in the receptionist didn't seem to want to see our Booking.com references and made me fill out all the information again - We had booked very early for this but they don't hold a room for you and just place you on the day - and as they were fully booked - I felt she struggled to fit our needs (ie no king beds left - require quiet room).
