24 hour pool
Everything.... From the valet staff to the front desk, even the waiters were excellent. The 24 hour pool was perfect, especially since we arrived really late and our son ended up waking up and wanted to swim in the pool. Over all... Everything was excellent!!! Me and my family will guarantee be returning to the Mariott anytime we need a quick get away from Hilo.
I love the service from check in to check out
It was great. All the staff were kind and helpful (I got a sunburn and my waiter at dinner got me fresh aloe)
ALL OF THE EXTRA COST
FRIENDLY AND CLEAN. CLOSE TO LAVAMAN
Beach equipment was not included in resort fee and many of the equipment was broken.
Room smell fresh, bed very comfy and grounds very nice. Hot tub and pool were our favorites.
Property is getting a bit dated, but has ben keep up and clean.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Removal of hall carpet while we were there but adjustments made to our bill because of it. THANKS
Our quiet porch on the north side
The restaurant staff could be a little friendlier
Pool was amazing
Wi-fi was average and the 30$ Daily resort fee is not fair. Hidden cost that I did not appreciate.
We were a bit surprised at how small our room was, by Hawaii standards. It was adequate, but didn't feel spacious, and for the price we were paying, I expected spaciousness. I would have preferred to have had the option of opting out on the services included in the resort fee and not having to pay it, but in these big resort hotels, the mandatory resort fee seems to be standard these days.
We were very comfortable and reasonably well taken care of by the friendly staff. Spectacular beachfront location, and the traditional Hawaiian fishponds between the hotel and the beach make it really unique. The location is within easy walking distance of 2 shopping malls with lots of restaurants, which is unusual for resorts on the Kona coast, where you often have to drive some distance to get to any restaurant or service outside of your hotel. Liked the 1 hour of free snorkle/fins use per day from the kiosk on the beach. The hotel's own Hawaii Calls restaurant is very good, and is fairly reasonably priced compared to many other similar resort restaurants in the area, which is not to say it's cheap, but it isn't outrageous, and you will spend just as much eating at many of the places in the nearby shopping mall.
our room was not cleaned or supplied very well each day, short on towels and garbage was left
very quiet and great pools, staff very friendly
The food and drink prices are crazy expensive and while good to OK not fabulous. For those prices we should be seeing gastronomic delights not run of the mill sandwiches and burgers.
The facility is bar none gorgeous! The rooms are luxurious and the staff are delightful. Even the coffee is amazing as it should be for this region.
The mountain view room actually looking is no view, suggest select other type of room
The Sand is finer than other beach; See a few fish when snorkeling; dinning place and some shops nearby
The concierge, Asia, was fabulous and gave us lots of great ideas for our stay on the Big Island.
Great pool, restaurant and location
Can get pricey, no microwave
Location, staff, comfy beds, beautiful view
Our hotel room was a little dated and seemed a little dirty. WiFi kept disconnecting but it was free.
The hotel grounds were completed in a natural tropical setting and beautiful. Located in a great area with a wonderful beach.
great staff, facilities, food, luau, beachfront location,
Our view was nice. The hotel is good and overall it was a pleasant stay.
Decor is a little worn and the service was only fair.
Good location close to shops and restaurants. Ocean-front
We were there over NY so it was understandably busy. NYE dinner was marred by the fact that the wait staff were terribly busy, and the quality of food from the ala carte menu, poor. Waited for ages to be seated for NY day brunch even though there were plenty of empty tables, as it took the wait staff a long time to clear and set the tables. Pool area was nice but towels on the deck chairs were not cleared by pool staff, as such we didn't know who had left or not. I know the staff tried hard in general but the place was understaffed and at the prices paid, pretty poor value.
The pool and proximity to the beach
fire alarm (faulty) went off at 2 AM and kept on for 75 minutes. staff reacted badly. only when we insisted we got the night off.
