Hotel is located really close to empire State, had no problem finding. Room was very small, but nice. The best restroom i have seen in a hotel.
Wasn't informed about renovation of the hotel. Had to walk around the block to get inside.
the location is very good
the hotel lobby is under constrution
the price location free wifi clean luxury toiletries
construction in lobby (having to use multiple elevators to exit hotel) issues finding the entrance due to the construction (this wasn't obvious on my reservation) Poor installation of shower handle (it popped off and nearly hit my foot) Loud restaurant patrons outside until 2am (making a ton of noise easily heard from 5th floor room)
Cleanness and location. Other than that, nothing special about this hotel during the renovation work going on.
Stayed in the standard queen room for 5 nights. The room smelled like cigarette. Construction work starting very early in the morning. Porter asking tips for just doing his job. I travel to NYC a few times in a year and don't recommend to stay here especially until it's completely renovated.
- Very plain room, with zero charm - overall design of the room, hallway, temporary lobby. - the hotel's main lobby was being renovated so all there was to this hotel was just the temporary lobby, hallway to the rooms and your room.
The staff was very nice and the room was rather comfortable.
The entrance was still undergoing restoration works as such there was dust and more noise than would be desirable.
Bed was comfortable Wifi was excellent. Rooms were clean.
Approach through 29th is not the best if walking. Didn't have coffee in room. Didn't have glasses for water in room (supposedly due to renos.) but that was lame. Rooms are not very big.
location and staff
The rooms are really small, they don't have a restaurant for breakfast and the entrance was under construction so we had to use the back entrance that was not very nice.
Comfortable bed, good location, reasonably priced for NYC
Location, room and bed comfort, wifi, very clean even in the middle of renovations.
Doesn't have restaurant working right now, it would have been nice have breakfast included.
I liked the open Wi-fi, the clean room and the location of the hotel.
The renovation of the lobby (it was disclosed in the booking process), the small closet, no minibar in the room.
Location, friendly enough
it is a building site and very claustrophobic. Booking.com should tell me that before I reserve the room, so that I have the choice to go elsewhere.
too small room
The staff was helpful, the room was very clean and so all the premises. Even the elevators smell had a lovely citrus scent! The room was comfortable, the queen bed was soft and lovely. However, the room size was a little small; but that's NYC. Finally, the location was perfect.
I didn't understeand why was there a courtesy boiler but no coffe or tea...
Under construction and no communication about its state prior to booking. Hard to find entrance.
The staff tried, but it is tough to deal with renovations (especially when the guests are not expecting that).
Unfortunately I did not know that the hotel was undergoing a major renovation that essentially made it a work zone (was not noted on Booking.com). Hard to know how it will be when done but based on this stay I'd say if you can afford a bit more you can have a much better experience at the Dream, Standard, Gansevoort, etc.
The location of the hotel is perfect, centre Midtown Manhattan, 2 blocks away from a subway, close to the Empire State Building and many restaurants and bars. We had a Superior Queen Room and that was much bigger than a Standard Room, i would defenitely reccomend this one! I liked the bathroom with rain shower, the big and soft bed, the space.
When we first entered the room we heard a loud fan noise from outside. Thankfully these fans went on and off on regular times, so that when we were present in our room in the evening, they were usually left off. During our sleep we weren't bothered with the noise. Due to the renovations going on in the hotel, there was no bar at the time of our stay, but we weren't hassled by the works by all means.
Excellent location. Lovely bathroom, very spacious – was almost bigger than the bedroom we were given (very small for 2 people and 2 separate single beds).
Booked a twin bed room (2 separate twin beds) via booking.com about 3 1/2 months before our arrival. I confirmed our booking directly with the hotel a week prior to our arrival and that it would be a 2-bed twin room as requested. I was told via email that all was in order. When we arrived, we were told the hotel no longer had twin-bed rooms (that particular floor was being renovated and closed) and they could give us a superior room - but one bed instead. My friend and I were travelling together and specifically wanted 2 separate beds. (While we were there (six nights) we heard numerous guests arguing with the receptionists about not getting the room (2 X twin bed) that was promised to them.) After a very long flight, the last thing we wanted to deal with was a rude and unaccommodating manager. We eventually got a room with two single beds (which the manager insisted was their idea of a twin bed?!), but only after a lengthy battle. We were made to feel that the hotel was doing us a huge favour! A good start to our trip to NYC. Also, false advertising by the hotel. They should say on their website that the hotel is under construction and then offer discounted rates. We went to the wrong entrance (original one) and had to walk around the block to find the new entrance. There is no real lobby, restaurants or anything similar as per their website. Also, for its rating you would expect tea/coffee making facilities in the room. And, of course, there was no room service. It's a pity because the location is really great.
Great location, very reasonably priced for a room that size in manhattan. Cleaned daily, good facilities, good TV. Overall very good
Could smell smoke coming out of one of the rooms on our floor a few times during stay. Front desk staff were never super fast to reply to calls, happy to stand around and chat to each other
Location was great . Shower and bathroom facilities and bathroom products provided were good. Room was clean. Room was quiet and I slept well.
Staff were not friendly. Duvet cover on bed was lumpy. Hotel is being renovated and windows were very dusty as was corridor to lift. No facilities for cup of coffee or tap water . No WiFi connection.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Shower in the room was new and so confortable
Location was good, view from room was good.
The building work meant there was no bar or restaurant . Wifi was hopeless in our room, staff were not that helpful.
Fair location, Free Wifi
Not informed of renovation works which have a major impact on the hotel, temporary entrance/reception area, poor/unhelpful service, small rooms with no amenities, would not recommend.
