Arrived after a long flight, check in was easy, the standard twin room was rather smaller than I expected but cosy, whilst mum and I was there for 6 nights we requested a larger room which was promptly dealt with, we ate in Marta the first night which was pre booked And had the best pizza I've ever had I live in Hongkong and have travelled all over the world the conceige team Rachel, Renee, and Gillian, was the most pleasant and helpful I have ever come across and couldn't do enough for us. In asia the service is of a very high standard and I found this just as equal of which I don't usually find when travelling Through Europe even in five star hotels !!! All of the staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for us a big thankyou to the team at Martha Washington location of the hotel is perfect not to far out and a little bit quieter than staying around the tourist areas but only a 5 to 10 min walk to everything once we masterered the grid system of New York.
Location & price
Staff were bordering on rude & the hotel doesn't look quite finished.
Location very close from main atractions and 15min walk from Times Square, staff very friendly and helpfull, indeed next time I would go to NYC I will look for this hotel again
The hotel looked like good from outside and the bathroom was big and so clean
The rooms are so small and they don't have any chair in the room it is not worth this money i mean they don't deserve this money i paid less amount before and that was better than this hotel
Hotel is in very good location near the 5th Ave and Broadway. It's very clean and there is a nice restaurant downstairs.
The only thing i didn't like was the sink in the bathroom was extremely small, it was very difficult to wash my teeth, too narrow.
- Liked the lobby bar and lounge - Although we arrived early in the morning we checked in without paying any additional charge
Our room was on the 9th floor. Renovation works were underway at the corridor area but nobody mentioned anything when I checked in. I booked my accommodation based on photos posted on the hotel's website but our room didn't look at all like those as there was no artwork or any design accessories and the bathroom was pretty basic. I would definitely have stayed somewhere else if I had known that the room and the corridor would look like that
Lovely Spacious rooms Beautiul, comfortable 'sink into' beds Very welcoming and friendly staff Very clean and comfortable Lovely bathroom with walk in shower
No coffee/tea making facilities in room
I left my expensive charger in the room I called lost and found 45 mins after I checked out to say I would collect it when I checked back in 2 days later. Staff we're very unhelpful and evasive. Charger never found. Housekeeping/Lost and found not very responsible
Location; Hot water; Gym; Free wifi enough for email, web browser and even some on-line video; Better wifi also available for purchase; Helpful staff
No coffee machine or kettle; Room 404 is next to a staff room with some noise
Entrance within a popular, crowded restaurant welcomes u for Newyork:) Perfect location, can walk everywhere in Manhattan. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are very clean.Nowadays floors decoration is changing from a modern look to a romantic style. We would prefer next time again.
Air condition was so much noisy. Bed was so much soft for us.
The staff was welcoming, cheerful and thoughtful. It was the perfect location. And though I wasn't able to get a reservation in the restaurant, I hear it is very good. Maybe next time.
You all could make a gift of at least 1 bottle of water…
The Staff's are amazing. Very helpful. Even helped me carry my bags and called a cab! I thought, The Plaza hotel does this kind of stuff. And inside the Elevator. It smells really good.
Rooms are very small, very small
Location & staff
Temperature in the room (too cold due to bad isolation of the windows)
It was a really good stay for me. Even though I listed some stuff on the negative side, I would chose it again. Very good location, central, close to everything, nice and safe area. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Really nice hotel, nice furniture, equipments, good bathroom accessories. Very clean. Wifi was good.
The room is truly very little - it was enough for me, but it must be considered. There was no natural light in the room at all because of a tall firewall - so if you need a street view room, let them know. The air conditioner is very loud (very effective though). Walls are very thin, noise came in. For me the bed was too soft.
Weel situated, nice room.
Very noisy. Avoid this place if you want to sleep. Doors are not soundproof, so you hear everything from the corridor. I pay more than 300$ per night and didn't sleep because people were coming to their room in the middle of the night talking to each othe. Cleaning staff is starting between 5 and 6 am, so I heard everybody going to pick their things on my floor. 2 cleaning lady even start to speack loudly right in front on my door at 6 am on Saturday morning. Also, be careful, they try to charge you mini bar stuff even if you didn't take anything. Nobody came to clean my room when I was there, I had to ask for clean towels because nobody came, but then the next day, they were trying to bill me 12$ saying that the cleaning lady wrote that I drink one alcohol bottle (that of course I didn't drink).
My husband and I were celebrating out 37th Wedding Anniversary and we were treated like and King and a Queen when we told them. Especially helpful were Daisy and Ngomza who went out of their way for us. The room was exquisite and the mattress was the most comfortable, In fact we want to call the hotel to ask what brand it was. Great location too.
Everything was perfect.
I enjoyed staying at Matha Washington. The location was very central but it was not that noisy and touristic. I was given a room on the 11/F which was even more tranquil. The minimal design of the room was good for a relatively tiny space and I was happy to have a room with the view of the Empire State Building. One had to really think on how to make the best use of of the limited space but I still managed to lay a yoga mat on the floor when I was not managing my two big luggage. The reception desk was chic and helpful and the room service staff were efficient and friendly. I didn't eat at the restaurant-bar on the G/F but I found their coffee excellent (one of the best during this trip).
While I could download my work files and check Facebook posts with ease with the free basic internet, I did hope that they did not need to charge me extra for a smooth connection watching a couple of Youtube videos.
the bed was very comfy, quiet room, got a good night's sleep, hard to get out of bed in the morning; fast free WiFi
a coffee maker in the room would be nice
cosy room is a tiny room but enough to stay a night for a business single.
Nothing except the fantastic restaurant in the lobby and the location.
The unfriendly unhelpful staff. The dirty stained hideous old carpeting in the halls and room. The dark gray walls. The fact that residents still live there - two doors down was a crudely written sign on the door warning people to keep out. No wastebasket shower cap poorly designed bathroom with ugly brown tile. A thoroughly depressing place - some 'renovation,'
Housekeeping - We had dirty towels and were missing towels, and instead of removing the old ones, placed the new towels on top of the old ones. Doorman/Bellboy - Even with 2 available, weren't holding doors. Lack of amenities - No Coffee/Tea maker Huge minibar - Considering the hotel cost and lack of other amenities, this was very insulting
Hotel holds deposit 500$ two weeks after my two days stay. No breakfast.
cleanliness, helpful staff , location , easy access to most places in manhattan
high priced ( although i secured a fair deal through booking.com)
