Great location. The continental breakfast was perfect for me. Good shower. Fresh linen and comfortable -on the soft side- bed. Very helpful concierge. Instant response to my needs by the front desk. Friendly. Good value. Fantastic pizza in the Marta, lobby restaurant.
The strongly Perfumed elevator is overwhelming. Luckily the perfume is only in the elevator.
I've stayed twice now. Both times amazed at what I was getting, let alone for the price. They upgraded me for free last time. There's a worthy restaurant in the front and a bar in the front and the back. Pleasantly appointed rooms. Rock solid shower. Oozes class. Great staff.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. Lovely little space, perfect for two. The staff was wonderful and we were surprised they offered to keep our bags after check out so we didn't have to worry about lugging then back to our car until we were ready to leave the city. The location was great, and the room was surprisingly quiet for being in New York. I will be booking here again if we decide to stay over in New York again.
Staff was very helpful.
Helpful, professional staff
Wi fi was inconsistent
The staff were very friendly and the room was a nice size and very clean!
The room was perfect: comfy, but supportive bed, pillows, wonderful bathroom. Room was perfect temperature during Winter visit.
Staff has sour hipster attitude. Wouldn't let me and my partner have a drink in their empty bar without permission from the front desk. No maid service for two days until I asked. Used the outside of my room as a staging area for their event supplies and tables.
The whole neighborhood around the Martha Washington was smiling and friendly, as was the staff who checked us in. The restaurant in the lobby provided an aroma that was delicious and inviting. The desk personnel were extremely helpful in every respect as was the bellman. The room was not large, but it was ample and obviously recently renovated. Everything was clean and well organized. The free Wifi worked well and the large flat-screened TV reception was perfect. We had to modify our reservation due to the weather changing our travel plans and again the staff including Sam, Njomza, and Almira could not have been more helpful with everything we needed. The bed was a bit softer than we would have liked but that’s largely a personal preference. The Martha W was the antithesis of our experience the previous three nights just a few blocks away. It’s not on Times Square but we will definitely be staying here again when in New York.
Great location! We were close to everything we wanted to do. And the restaurant (Marta) was fantastic! The hotel was clean & had a great design. We loved it.
We had a lower floor room on the 29th street side. Despite the comfortable bed, the traffic (particularly cars hitting a metal plate on Madison Ave all night) kept waking us up. Ask for a higher room if you can.
Loved the bed. Very comfortable! Brilliant pillows! Good location easy access to most sights. Lovely welcoming staff and service.
Rooms are basic and small. Airconditioning was so noisy we felt like we were in a rocket ship. This needs to be upgraded.
Everything was good.
Nice and clean room and bath, reasonable room size for NYC. Free Wifi worked fine. Comfy bed. Good location.
The only thing I didn't like was that they don't use a proper duvet cover, the sheets around the duvet are prone to move, and you'll be sleeping under the duvet itself instead of some kind of cover with a certain probability. But given the good points, not a really disturbing point.
No extra space or facilities for client except room.
Martha Washington is a lovely hotel in Midtown Manhattan, even though my stay was short it was very pleasant. I found myself spending a lot of time talking with the friendly staff at the hotel. The rooms are pretty small but I've been told that this is the norm in Manhattan so can't complain, and it was pretty well stocked. The Victoria bar has some great beer on tap and the food at their restaurant downstairs was pretty good as well. The Avacado bruschetta I had for breakfast put a smile on my face.
If there is any complaint at all it would probably be that I could have done with a kettle, especially if I had to stay for more than 1 night.
Nice location to visit New York. Very gentle staff, specially Steven.
The Hall is very busy because of the the pizzeria. The bathroom is very small and the shower leaks!
the overall facility was very nice and updated! The lobby and bar areas were fabulous
the cozy room is a closet. Very sterile and plain. The staff at the front desk charged twice and it was a hassle to get situations fixed. The room service was overpriced and downright awful.
Concierge was wonderfully helpful and friendly, like your cool New York friend that has the inside story on all the best places to go. Room basic but comfortable, and we got a fantastic rate for our group.
The restaurant looked so great but was fully booked the whole time we were there. Wish they could save some seats for hotel guests. Or let us order room service in the bar? Also would love coffee in the room.
The $8.00 bottle of water was delicious
The dinging of the elevator outside my door all night. The 20 minute check in procedure. The unflushed toilet.
A stay in this hotel is an absolute must. Staff was excellent, room was spacious, bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel bar and restaurant was one of the best I've been in and service was 100%. I will have no hesitation in coming back.
Excellent location. Nice clean room
Friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful and professional. The front desk made checking in quick and easy and provided assistance with parking. The housekeeping staff even checked back with us to see if we needed anything else. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely stay here again.
Cost Modern décor Quiet central setting
Rooms are small but we knew that going in Bellhop wasn't very helpful and complained when we asked him to grab us a cab, rudely telling us to call Uber instead (because it was raining and he was trying to avoid going outside)
Bedding - including pillows made it easy to get good sleep Privacy
Needed to ask first three days for drinking glasses in the room Not that helpful at checkout
I liked the location I liked the fact the hotel had free wi-fi The bed was very comfortable Lifts were very efficient
The fact there was building work going on on floors below The HUGE cockroach in the bathroom The fact there was no shower cap provided Building dust on the carpets Likewise in the drawers and round door lintels Glasses and pillowcase were not changed each day Lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room $18 charged for a thermos flask of poor coffee and a thimbleful of milk Leaking shower so a wet bathroom floor each morning A dirty sock was found under the bathroom shelf unit (possibly where the cockroach lived) Maid's service trolleys kept on the landing
