Wonderful B&B. excellent service, delicious food. The French toast taste like bread pudding yum! We arrived early & they were very accommodating. It is a quite location facing the bay.
We were in the carriage house above the garage. We had to climb narrow stairs to the room & the room had steps between the bed & sitting area & one between the bathroom & bedroom. We put bright sneakers on these steps for safety, particularly for night time bathroom trips. This was not the best room in the house. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay
The food and accommodation is perfect
The bed is a little bit uncomfortable bit the rest is perfect...we will come back again.
Great location, very nice staff and beautiful Inn.
Wonderful Inn. Great breakfast with just enough food to start the day. Cannot have a better view of the ocean from the dining room
Very old fashioned 4 poster bed shirt and narrow Ground floor room lacked net curtains resulting in privacy issue, No TV in room, A bit spooky to be honest, Not good value for money, Strange smell - probably bleach.
Location was perfect! Easy walk to Cannery Row...and yet very quiet/charming.
I liked the devotion of the owner and the staff to the love of the Martine Inn
We stayed in the Pineapple Room. In my opinion, there is too much furniture in the room to move about comfortably. Removing one of the chairs and the big mirror would be helpful.
We have chosen the Martine Inn for several years as our B&B of choice for weekend get-a-ways in Pacific Grove. We always receive a friendly greeting when we arrive, offered freshly made coffee or tea, homemade cookies and fresh fruit. We are given a brief tour of the Inn, instructions on how to use the security code for the front door and are shown to our room, which always has lights on and chocolates on the bed. Between 5:30pm and 7:00pm wine is served with hot appetizers, cheeses, vegetables and fruit. When there is a chill in the air there is always a fire in the fireplace. We enjoy meeting people here from all over the world. Breakfast is always a special treat. We enjoy magnificent views of Monterey Bay as we are served different entrees each morning. These are prepared by their chef and accompanied by fresh fruits and juices, and our choice of coffee or tea. The Inn has many cozy nooks to settle down in to enjoy views of the Bay. It is a quiet, restful place to unwind from a busy week and enjoy the comforts and amenities that make this a home away from home. We are looking forward to our next visit.
It was a perfect location. Beautiful views, walking trails to Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, and Lover's Point. Property was pretty well maintained. Delicious food at wine reception and generous breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Special little things like a send off bag of banana bread and water, coffee, tea, and cookies, variety of pleasant sitting areas and activities. Comfortable. Enjoy the ocean and seals from dining room and other areas like the upstairs sitting room.
Very few things not to loke. There were a few .maintenance issues like a curtain that didnt pull up because the bravket pulled out and the strings were all tangled and outdoor areas that were not completely well maintained. Seemed a bit expensive in spite of great location. Rooms would be more filled if the prices were more reasonable. Most rooms had no view but nicely furnished.
Views, breakfast, location, greeting by very nice staff person.
Torn carpet , hitting my head on the faucet of the exceedingly small sink, shower knobs backwards and difficult, hearing those above me, potential bike theft not being taken seriously.
The hotel is in a wonderful location with an attraction for car lovers. The owner collects antique MGs and has them on display in private courtyards throughout the grounds. The food was inventive and delicious. There is attention to detail in service and accommodation.
The windows had been painted shut, so there were only 2 that could be opened. Luckily it is very cool in Pacific Grove at night and during the morning hours. I was offered a fan, but there were no outlets in the room that the cord reached. If it had been too hot I would've asked for an extension cord, but we never needed it.
Wonderful breakfast and afternoon hosted wine. Rooms are very private. Amenities are very good.
The beds are very firm with no mattress topper or pad. Beds for hygiene should always have pad. The wallpaper pattern was on every surface. Even on lampshades and in the bathroom. Made room too busy. I wish I had know that the parking was down 3 flights of stairs.
The home made cookies was very good...
The mattress is too soft, Back aches the next morning.
I'd call it a B&B plus! Typical B&B expectations but if you want to play ping/pong or pool, they also have that. Very professional staffers that focus on the customer, something that is sadly lacking in most places today.
I really can't think of anything worth mentioning.
Cool cars, excellent hospitality and food. Amazing views (thoughtful placement of binoculars).
Bed in (Brass Room). Main building combination lock / latch requires 2 hands to operate. I often was carrying 4 bags - had to set everything down, then operate lock / Latch. So if I owned the place - my 1st two upgrades would be this bed, and that locking mechanism. We would stay here again...
first night watched dolphins swim across the ocean from our window. went for walks on the path.
The rooms are antiquated not charming just old and musty with mildew terrible sheets and bathrooms
Great location within walking distance of everything. Excellent service and pleasant staff.
Room we stayed in had a very bad odor and was very warm at night.
Great location, walking distance to many attractions such as the Aquarium and coast line.
Lack of AC during summer can be a bit uncomfortable in the afternoon
The view is amazing from the dining room, the observations rooms and the ocean view room where we stayed. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. Chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne in the room at our arrival. Walking distance to Lover's Point, Cannery Row and Old Fisherman's Wharf while remaining a very quiet location. Loved it here and did not want to leave!
Our shower/tub fixtures are a little outdated and could have used a little upkeep (which I forgot to mention on our check out). The walls are a little thin and our room was right by the public observation room and linens closet which made for a little traffic in the morning.
Charm and staff
Birds and bed little firm
Great staff and location
Tiny room. So small you have to step over the dorm fridge between the foot of the bed Azande the wall. The bathroom sink is in the bedroom, so close you can sit on the bed and brush your teeth. About the size of a small cruise ship berth.
Felt quite comfortable there. Unique rooms and grounds. Fascinating silver collection.
The cozy ambulance, and location to everything!
The staff made us feel like home. We had a sit down breakfast that was made to our liking. We had the inside rooms so the view wasn't their but the room was quiet and comfy. We really enjoyed our two night stay there and met some of the nicest people during our breakfast time. .
The only feature was that the sink was in the bedroom and not in the bathroom, but it was all right.
