This historic, 5-star hotel in downtown Boston was originally the Federal Reserve Bank. It overlooks Norman B. Leventhal Park and features gourmet dining, a luxury spa and elegant rooms.

Beautiful decor. Great location. Friendly and accomodating staff.
Bed was small and could be more comfortable. Heating unit was noisy.
The facilities are lovely and comfortable. It had such a nice Christmas feel for a weekend in December. We walked to Harvard and Porter Squares easily, and also walked back from Davis.
The breakfast wasn't as fresh and hot as it usually is. Probably a fluke, though. Great place.
Location was ideal to family and Cambridge. 19th century building charming & in excellent repair. Wonderful breakfast.
Parking under the building was quite tight.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Our room was at the front of the house near the front door and it was quite noisy both from street traffic as well as activity inside the inn. Next time would avoid rooms 1&2.
The food was fantastic as well as the kindness, responsiveness , and elegance of the inn.
I personally like softer beds but I think I'm in the minority.
Felt right at home with tasteful decor, comfortable bed and a decent sized bathroom with necessary amenities. A number of guests were on the property but felt so quiet and private. Excellent location with unique shops and a variety of restaurants right around the corner as well as a T stop right up the street. Food also good.
Room could use better lighting especially for night reading. Seems as simple as using a higher strength light bulb.
Great location close to Harvard, friendly and helpful host, rooms were nicely decorated and cozy. Amenities like complimentary tea and continental breakfast show how much care goes into running this inn. I will stay there again when in Cambridge!
This has become our go-to B&B when staying in Boston/Cambridge!!
The inn's location is a few blocks from the Porter Sq T station and a less than 15 min walk to Harvard Sq via Oxford St. Porter Sq has been revitalized since I was last there with new restaurants and shopping. The Inn has a delicious high tea in the afternoon and a full breakfast. You feel a part of history in the old house full of charming details including a garden on view from the breakfast room.
Since there are no elevators you must be prepared for a steep climb to your room. Not advised for guests with mobility issues.
Everything, especially the food!
Parking was a little tricky
Comfort of the room and the inn in general. Helpful staff. Lovely old building. Patio/deck with so many lovely flowers and plants.
Heat woke us up when it came on. Tricky parking if you don't have a small car.
Our stay was too short. Whole experience delightful. Atmosphere and decor charming. Really enjoyed the gardens. Breakfast menus varied each day and very tasty. Wished we could stay longer.
I was a little short - bed really high. Need an other category for travelers - had to use family and older children when in fact we were a mother and adult daughter.
The Staff was helpful and courteous. The room was beautiful. We enjoyed muffins and scones while relaxing at tea time on the patio. Breakfast was served promptly so we could get to the airport on time. We were able to walk to dinner and enjoy the beautiful scenery. A perfect ending to our East Coast adventure.
Lovely B&B, great breakfast, very clean and nice room and bath.
We were on the 3rd floor with no elevator so if you have mobility issues you need to ask for a lower floor.
Travelling quite a bit, I'm bored of the chain hotels so I prefer to find individual, family-run places to stay and this fitted the bill perfectly. About 6 miles from Logan, we got there off a late flight before 10pm and had a surprisingly restful night and were treated to a wonderful breakfast before heading off for our holiday proper. Would definitely stay there again. Not knowing Cambridge at all, I relied on GPS to get me to the destination, which it did easily. Probably easy to find with a map if you are used to the area.
Limited parking - not a real problem as I parked in the parking lot blocking other cars (by prior arrangement) and left the keys with reception who moved the car when other guests left first.
Quality of decor, furniture and furnishings. The bedding especially was top notch! Room servicing was excellent. Breakfasts and afternoon tea were really tasty and well-presented.
Very intermittent WiFi in my room (18). Squeaky floorboards in this room, which is perhaps to be expected in an historic property, but could perhaps adversely affect the occupants of the room below.
We had to walk to the subway several blocks in the rain when we were ready to leave. They offered umbrellas and told us to think about Mary Prentiss when we used them at home. No need to send back.
excellent breakfast great old house
not enough heat in the room
location great restaurants nearby breakfast staff wifi bathroom bed ambience afternoon tea and cookies
no desk in room; room a little small
Perfect stay. Every detail has been worked out and the thoughtful touches (cold water with lemon in the foyer, coffee ready first thing) and service were unparalleled. Although it looks a bit far on the map, it is convenient to anywhere in Cambridge. A very quiet street and close to the Porter Square T. Tell the taxi around 1700 Mass Ave in Cambridge.
The room was lovely and spotless, with all the comforts of home, so that was all good. My only complaint is the old-fashioned house does not have enough lighting, so the room was quite dim in the evening and at night. The comfortable bed and cleanliness and abundance of pillows more than made up for this, though.
Tremendously helpful staff Breakfast to die for Park the car-do Boston by subway
Charming, comfortable inn with a great staff and great location. So much better than local hotels for families or business travelers.
Great place, clean as could be. Old charm. Amazing garden out back to have breakfast (don't get me started on how great the food was!) I loved how you choose your time for breakfast. We checked out and were able to keep out luggage there, gotta love that.
Location wasn't awful it was about a 5 mins walk form the train but then another 15 into Boston. The hotel was not really walking distance for going to see Harvard or the Charles. The b&b should provide bikes and locks for guests.
Staff excellent and friendly. They go above and beyond. Decor was gorgeous. History of Mary Prentiss Inn impressive.
Last year, I couldn't keep my reservations because a familymemeber was diagnosed with cancer and I couldn't keep the reservations. I wanted my money back and the reservation cancelled. I was told the your policy is you do not reimburse cancellations. Even thought everything was exemplary, I will not refer anyone to Mary Prentiss Inn. That's my policy.
Had to leave early so no breakfast as before 8am. Fair enough but I hadn't eaten since 8pm the night before and hungry - part of the cost too.
