Bit old Fashion and dark some rooms have no view and make the room very dark
Location Location Location. .great roof top pool and bar
The service in the hotel was terrible. Went to restaurant twice and service really poor, my main course was delivered after my partners meal was finished. The 2nd time the same only this time it was cold, both times it wasn't very busy.... The wifi was was not working in the room when I went to rececption they were not interested..... dont waste your money.
The bed was very comfy
The additional charges! $30 for the Japanese soaking tub.. Well worth it by the way but was aware of this charge till we got to the room. Website says free parking?? Only car park was in cocowalk at $12 overnight
Easy to find and cocowalk just opposite was great for restaurants Starbucks and cinema
Internet did not work very good.
We had a nice stay at the Mayfair hotel. The hotel is near by the livestyle centre Cocowalk. There are some good restaurants en shops in the neighborhood. The hotel is a little outdated but good. Save neighborhood.
My room needed to be updated, I had a "Spa" suite(402) with a Jacuzzi on the patio which was empty. The sheers were off the track as well as dirty and torn. I could not sleep under the covers as the sheets were worn and rough. I slept on top of the Duvet folding it over and using this as cover. I've never slept in a more uncomfortable bed because of this.
The hotel staff as well as the Spa staff was very accommodating. For me this is the one thing which saved my stay.
No shuttles or trsnsfers
Coconut Grove isn't a bad area, but you'll end up spending half of your time (and a lot of money) either waiting for cabs who don't venture there very often, or stuck in traffic while in the cab between there and Downtown / Miami Beach. Staff is really unhelpful (our luggage was lost by the airline at MIA: frontdesk staff plainly refused to call the airline to check the status of the luggage during the day (saying it wasn't their job - first time I've heard that in a hotel in this price range), and we had to re-explain the situation every time there was a shift change as these guys wouldn't bother pass the information on. They wouldn't lend us a phone charger (what they do is send you over to a CVS like 10 blocks away, under a pouring rain, without telling you it closes at night...). The valet / taxi stand guy would try to sell a Limo ride with some business acquaintance every time we asked him to actually call a cab. Beware of the "jacuzzi in the room" : there's one, but having it filled up is an extra... Overall, poor location and bad level of service.
The rooms are huge and, overall, well equipped.
On the first night we decided to request room service. Checked the menu, found what we liked and ordered. We were told it will be about 30'. Instead an hour passes and we still had no food. I call to enquire and was told the ticket never went through because we requested for items that were not in the dinner menu (although the menu catalogue stated that they serve all-day breakfast in the room). So anyways after a long discussion about how the staff should have informed us that the items we were ordering could not be ordered for dinner, instead of just cancelling our order and the director of the restaurant hanging up the phone while we were expressing our complains, the dinner arrived (1.45' later). It was quite good and on the house due to the inconvenience.
The hotel is a gorgeous place and the spa services that I got to try were indeed phenomenal.
The staff was mediocre and the fire alarm went off at 1 am. Everyone evacuated their rooms and went outside. There was no staff except for the valet. Eventually the valet informed us it was ok to go back inside. Mayfair was posh and big in the 80's but now it has very low class.
I like the decor and the courtyard. The size of the room.
the cost of the continental for breakfast.
Staff service. Unhelpful and rude. Bad breakfast. Internet never worked in my room. It was dissapointing to receive all kind of false excuses from the staff. Check in and out were sort of "bothering" the staff with it.
The room was excellent, very comfortable and clean. The interior of the building is gorgeous, with a very tropical accent.
The Hotel is old and needs to be remodeled
The entire experience was very exceptional
Everything was wonderful !
Size of room and huge jacuzzi
We felt the food & drinks were overpriced. The full-length mirror in the bathroom was cracked and the tub was loaded with dirty hair and the patio hot-tub was old and filthy. The staff left our dirty towels and washcloths in the bathroom tub and did not provide clean ones and left our used coffee mugs and glasses for us to clean. The wifi wrecked our devices!
The view of the Bay from the rooftop pool, Coco Walk, and the Art Show.
No curtains in the room made me feel uneasy. Half the elevators were broken so there was always a long wait. Room service was very slow. The Internet was slow and dropped out constantly.
Location, good breakfast and great restaurant (only if you like Italian food) Nice spa. Very spacious rooms with big beds although the bed was too soft for me.
Room was spacious and clean. Even had a tv in the bathroom.
So, I scheduled a wake-up phone call for 4 am and I never received it, almost lost my flight.
The hotel is excelent, and the little "cuban" styled mall next to it is also awesome. Next to excelent restaurants.
appalling service - we could not get anyone to replace the water that we drank in room (FIJI for $6 a bottle), housekeeping did not replace any of the water in the minibar either, after calling the reception they told us they ran out and there is no way we can get a bottle of water unless we go to a restaurant! The lady on a night shift was the rudest I have ever come across who would not even take an order for the room service ! No one was able to help us with the adapter either and overall very poor experience. The only good thing was the lovely lady who works in the bar and who served us cofee- she could not be more helpful !
Location was lovely
The staff was rude, dismissive and uninformed. The elevators were broken and honestly we felt like we were going to get stuff anytime in them. For the price you would expect MUCH better customer service from the staff.
I really enjoyed the location and the size of the room was great for three girls. Walking distance to everything.
Pillows were too soft, would have liked a bit firmer and they were small.
Walking distance to dining, shopping and movie theater, great location.
The wifi connection was awful to the point I requested a room change. Eventually had to buy a wireless router but the Ethernet doesn't go to the room so that didn't help. If the hotel sorted this out and added a rewards scheme of some sort, it would always beat the Marriott option.
The hotel is more boutique than the big chains. Great food inside and also within walking distance. Rooftop bar and pool perfect for long stay.
