Out dated decor, with pink wallpaper.
This is a very old building, c.1910, built as a boarding house. It is very quaint, with narrow hallways, and a tiny elevator, that broke for a bit of my stay. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The whole place could use a "period renovation" and it would be something special. The pink toile wallpaper with green marble trim, is very dated and the carpet past its prime, but Times Square is super close, the subway station is the next street over, and a major theater is next door. Eat in the attached italian restarant before the show. The food is food and you barely have to take 10 steps. Great value and helpful staff. If you want to sleep in, ask for a room with a window that overlooks the fire escape. Not much light comes in and.no street noise.
