I had never stayed in such a bad hotel like a Mayor Hotel. People on a reception desk are good, but a room...OMG!!! 1. The room was a size of a little bathroom. There was a space just for a queen bed, a little table and nothing else. 2. I found a few long black hair on a blanket. It was so visible. So, that is mean that housekeeper didnt clean it at all. 3. My nightmare was continued in a bathroom. Black hair was even on a wall together with some strange red marks, the tub never was properly clean (hair around, the tile walls had some black dirt), toothpaste was on a cabinet door, and a countertop never was clean. About tile floor I dont even know what to say. That is disgusting!!!!! 4. Of course carpeted floor never was clean!!!! When I went downstairs to ask about other room, they said that the dont have any, but they promised to sent a maid to fix everything. The maid brought with her only small towel and blanket. So the blanket wasn`t bad, but you gotta see how she clean a bathroom: she only made wet a towel and "cleaned" everything. Of course she didnt clean anything, just pretended that she did. Everything was in the same way like before(((( I was so angry!!!! I have no words to describe it. I tried to give her second chance, but she even didnt try to fix faults. So this hotel is a real pigpen. Thanks God that I didn meet a cockroach there!!!!

Convenient to 2 different subway stations and near to the Brooklyn Bridge, which I love to run across when I'm in NYC! Very helpful start; helped arrange taxi for me from hotel to Penn Station for 4:00am. nothing fancy, but good value for the money. Mattress is very hard.

excelent value for the money, and a super location, very friendly and plesent staff, this is my second stay at this hotel and it wont be my last, I will be staying here on my next visit to N.Y.C. the morning breakfast is not what I expected, but this is a minor isue, as there is a very good diner five minutes walk from the hotel that serves all day breakfast at a good price.

I was in the middle of china town it was great, as a location, for food, and bicycle friendly. It was great to have coffee and sandwich in the morning. before I went to my event, for sure I will come back The bed could have been a little bit softer

The service has been very good/helpful. The had the most firm beds i have ever slept in, however i got quite used to it after a week. The breakfast is just some reade made different sandwiches and strange pastry in a laundry.

The bed was just as hard as the floor and in the Queen Standard room, there was about 40 cm on each side of the bed, could barely fit by bag beside it. Internet died every second minute, and the "breakfast" is served in the laundry room... Nothing I would recommend anyone, canceled my other two nights after ten minutes.

Courteous staff, clean rooms. The room - standard queen room - was not what we expected. The room size here was atrociously small, with only about two feet of space around the bed on all four sides. The bathrooms were great and so was the cleanliness, but the room size was too disappointing. Yes, to get a mid priced hotel in lower Manahattan isn't easy, but I would ask Mayor hotel not to say that this is a 'standard queen room', rather a very small room with a queen sized bed. The air conditioning was turned on only on calling the front desk - not good. And get rid of the breakfast entirely. One piece of croissant (with nothing to apply or dip, not even butter or jam) and a cup of tea in a room with washing machines roaring on the side and a table with four chairs -- that isn't "breakfast included"!

Bathroom facilities were good. Powerful shower etc The bed was a horror. The mattress was literally 2 inches thick and as such sleeping on it was similar to being on a park bench. When I complained I was told that Chinese people like hard mattresses. Well bud, I ain't Chinese! The door lock on our room was broken too requiring reception to let us in each time. This was fine until the time we had to wait 15 minutes for matey to return from his lunch. Intensely frustrating and pitiful value considering it was £100 plus per night. Also, if you open your window you're deafened by subway trains rattling over manhattan bridge.

The most positive aspect we can mention is the two helpful and friendly young men working at the front desk. Even though the rooms are quite small (but OK), the bathrooms are rather big. Trains running over a bridge right outside makes the location noisy, the rooms are not sound proof. The reviews we read before booking said the hotel was clean, we don't understand how that is possible, the place was filthy. The beds are as hard as a rock, awful. Hotel is not very well maintained, a pity since it seemed quite new seen from the outside. Not a big problem, but we missed hooks to hang things on in the bath room. The breakfast was very poor, the coffee undrinkable, we only tried it the first morning. According to hotel information the phone should have voice mail, it doesn't and a person at the front desk didn't take an important phone message for us. We would not stay here again.

Reasonably conveniently located, reasonable price for New York City, although still not cheap. Relatively large-sized bathroom compared to the roomsize. Hard bed, thin walls (so sometimes noisy due to other guests), very small bedroom (no place to store your suitcases let alone unpack them)

The staff is very friendly and try to help. The room is small but for a night is more than ok. It is written: breakfast included; in fact is the service room in the basement where a plate with some sandwiches and coffee are waiting. It will be better not to mention the breakfast at all.

We had a very nice stay in the twin bed room. The room was hospitable and clean, the bathroom was very clean and the staff was really nice and helpful. For frugal travelers on a budget, this place is great for New York. The location is very good too and the insulation cut out the noise from the bridge and the subway near-by.

The area was great, For me the bed was awful. I have a much softer bed and it was just too hard. My back hurt in the morning and throughout the day. My husband loved the hardness of the bed. So one person was happy.

the staff was very friendly The rooms were very small though clean. The breakfast offerings should be changed. Some kind of fruit- apples, oranges or bananas and whole wheat or grain toast would be much healthier and much more appealing than what was there. Also, if you could incorporate a dishwasher, use real mugs!!!! so much more appealing and better for the environment than styrofoam.
