Made a mix up of my dates and had no problem in them refunding my money. Bed was so comfy we overslept and nearly missed our train.
Thought it a tad expensive. What looks like a good price on the web site is not when all the extra taxes are added.
The rooftop bar has great views of the NYC skyline. The hotel is well situated in Williamsburg for shopping and restaurants.
Great pool area this really was a amazing! Good cocktails. Great gym facility. Location was perfect. Roof top bar with amazing views and very nice sunset setting. Staff were fantastic. Bed was the comfiest I've slept in ! Better than my home one!
Nothing it was all great
Close to underground.Buzzy Bedford Street.Walking distance to ferry.
Room was small especially if youve got a lot of luggage.Nowhere to hang towels so that they dry.
POOL FRIENDLY STAFF
Great relaxed vibe. The roof top bar was worth the stay. Having a drink with a view to die for. Excellent!!
The pool and the rooftop are very amazing!
My stay started with Andriel from the reception rushing down the five stairs to the sidewalk in front to fetch my luggage before I even could ask. And that was an upbeat start, the hotel is young and has an energy, I had a great room and have no complaints. The large saltwater swimming pool set in a very pretty lounge area provides a true respite from the hectic and grit of the city. The poolside yoga for guests in the morning and is also a nice feature of the hotel!
Very nice for day pool visitors but terrible for hotel guests. This hotel is more like a high end young professional pool and bar club than it is a hotel that focuses on hotel guests. Hotel guests subsidize local young day visitors.
See above. I would visit pool but never stay as a hotel guest again
Liked the rooftop bar. Great feel and vibe for those looking for a slightly older crowd than you might find at Wythe right down the road.
They did accommodate us as guests at the pool but all of the lounge chairs and space to relax by the pool were reserved by local residents who weren't staying at the hotel.
The amenities at the hotel were great - a salt water pool with a staff that served drinks and food poolside. The staff all went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied - and they were so friendly! The location was great, nearby food and right across from a park. Our room faced the pool and I had no problems with noise whatsoever, even when there was a band and outdoor movie showing directly across the street from the hotel.
Room service never answered the phone - then forgot our order. We tried again for breakfast - it was delivered on time, but cold.
love the pool staff very friendly exellent
Location is excellent, close to subway Bedford L direct to Manhattan. The swimming-pool is a real pleasure, although it is smaller than what it looks on the picture. The rooftop is a great place from where the view on Manhattan skyline is impressive. Staff at the reception desk is quite professional, who handle clients' complaints quite well.
Very noisy hotel : from my room I could hear every detail of the conversations in the hallway, especially at night. I stayed 7 nights, during which different parties took place on the rooftop, with very noisy guests. Housekeeping is very poor : the garbage is kept all day long in the staircase at evry floor, quite disgusting to pass by. Swimming-pool manager is quite rude to hotel guests, she should definitely change job....
Beautiful boutique hotel with a lovely pool. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the room was well stocked, pretty and very clean. I'll be back!
My room was very small, but I knew that when I booked it.
Hip, party atmosphere.
Restaurant experience (breakfast) was poor (service and food).
Location was great and very pleasant and appealing. Great meal and shopping choices. Good subway access
Our room did not have any cups for water and when we requested cups we were told sure twice and still waiting for them. Poor, Poor, Poor HVAC in room could not get below 75 deg F. until about 5am needs a real frig and coffee/tea pot in room!
Interesting to be in Williamsburg for a change of pace (normally I stay in Manhattan), and I enjoyed taking the East River Ferry to get to Midtown. The bed was very comfortable, and my room on the 5th floor looking out on the street and McCarran Park was nice for the light. The room was quiet on two of the four nights of my stay. My kids enjoyed the pool.
NOISE!!! on the weekend. It turns out this is a very hot spot on the weekends. Having come from Europe with more than a bit of jet lag, I did not appreciate the LOUD, BOOMING bass of the band playing in the hotel's club until midnight or so on my first two nights at the hotel. Also, it would have been nice if housekeeping had left me a water glass for bathroom use - instead I used a bottle of water that they charged me $5 for...
The Hotel was beautiful and very clean.
If you want peace and quiet don't bother, it like trying to fall asleep in the middle of a night club. It's so loud you can not think. I wish they would have explained this after traveling no one wants to have to up and move to a new room. Which is what I had to do at 9pm.
The Area (hip and happening) The Pool and the pool bar Free bikes
Reception desk can be understaffed at times
The location is perfect and is walking distance to every major attraction in Williamsburg. If you aren't walking distance then the L train will take you where you need to be in minutes. The hotel itself is modern, well decorated and has a great feel.
We have stayed at the hotel probably 10 times over the last two years as our daughter lives in Williamsburg and we only stay here when we visit. This is our first time visiting the hotel under its new ownership. The staff was excellent as always. The food at the Elm is outstanding and the location cannot be better. However, services were a bit spotty this time and it really needs to be corrected by new ownership. This was our longest continuous visit-10 days. This time, housekeeping was lacking in a number of respects: the room was never cleaned spotless like it had been in the past. We always felt the room was a bit dirty---with lint and dirt pushed into the corners, which really bothered us. The light switches were not functioning properly. And, there were a few occasion where we were left with just two bath towels and no hand towels or wash cloths. One time events don't bother me...but, these annoyances were not corrected even after I requested the front desk to keep an eye on things and take care of the situation. Also, we were billed for bottled water that was placed at bedside as if it was provided as a compliment of the hotel. Although the error was quickly corrected after I brought it to the front desk's attention, it was an annoyance, when added to the other issues, left a sour taste in our mouths for the first time since we have been staying at the hotel. We WILL return to The McCarren, but WILL make our concerns known to management before we arrive
Staff, location. Bloody Mary ; )
Bar drinks served in plastic cups.
Friendly obliging attitude. Young, polite, fun, friendly and attentive staff. The pool - in New York?! The rooftop bar - view - comfort - style - cleanliness. Proximity to Bedford Ave and Nth 7th St. Subway - L line straight into Manhatten. Laid back, safe location Really fresh, comfortable beds. Free bikes - take them on the East River Ferry and go from there.
Tiny, single, half height wardrobe. Need for earplugs at night (but they worked! We slept like logs!) More style than ergo dynamics in room design.
The pool is great
Unfortunately it seems the hotel is more concerned with selling pool passes than attending to their guests. It was overcrowded and we also spent half of our time locked out of our room, as our key card machine didn't work. This is by no means up to the standard of the rest of Morgans hotels.
The pool The location The bed and bedding The shower products The staff
The room had several nonworking items.
The bed was one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in.
There was too little space for unpacking. There were no drawers except in for one in each nightstand.
