Everything was terrific with our stay, perfect location.
There is a slight smell when you walk in and in the elevators, its kind of a septic smell. My breakfast at the hotel was not good, I think it may have been just an issue with my waffle though. The manager took it right off the bill and handled it very well.
Room was a bit roughed up, just felt like it had been used a lot. Scratches on floor, discolored grout? Peeling wallpaper. Light switches were odd, our patio door handle broke off.
Bed was very comfortable, rain shower was nice. Staff was very nice.
Staff was awesome. Very helpful. Desk staff to maintenance guy, Lovely to chat to. Seemed to want to ensure we had a great stay. Bed was huge. Wanted to take it home. Awesome location.
great location, convenient, easy to find, clean functional room
lighting switches hard to control/operate- requested early check in a month ahead but had to upsize bedroom and pay more
Lobby had a foul odor for most of stay. Rooms are very small.
We were in town for a wedding and the McCarren was the perfect place to stay. The staff were great and accommodating, room was nice, clean and comfortable and we had a beautiful view! We were able to walk to everything and overnight parking was convenient & reasonable. We would definitely come back
Only suggestion was a need for towel bars in bathroom!
It has a perfect location for the Williamsburg community. It is quiet. Easy to find a place to park in the street.
For the hefty price of the room, it was very very small. Basically a bed in a closet sized room. No desk or chair. Bed and TV/ small clothes closet. Bathroom ok. I was not comfortable there and would not return.
Staff was great! very helpful and friendly. Perfect location.
Puke smell in the elevator and the bathroom stench made us gag. Noise all night. Their super late (4:00PM) inflexible checkin was a nuisance. The upstairs bar made drinks so bad we couldn't drink them. Overall, I'd skip this place if you can.
Great location, comfortable bed, clean and quiet
staff were very friendly and attentive, room was very clean and had well-stocked bathroom and food /bar supplies. Location is excellent if you want a Williamsburg / Brooklyn Hotel (we did). The hotel restaurant (which avoids the weird lobby) seems to be used by locals for drinks and dinner (usually a good sign) and there were a couple of weddings during our stay - these were well managed by the hotel and didn't affect us at all.
entrance lobby is bit weird and unwelcoming with tree wallpaper everywhere. Room service is very expensive for what it is and selection not great. Meals tended to be overly 'cheffed' with not much attention to detail such as seasoning or taste etc. hotel Would really benefit from offering simpler dishes (in restaurant and room service) and getting them superb - especially given the prices. room was not ready when we arrived and noticed this also happened to other guests. A pain on a freezing day after a long flight. No welcome pack with info on hotel or opening hours of restaurant / bar etc.
Staff were very helpful and the restaurant in the basement had great food.
Rooms were very small.
Room was on the small side ...bathroom was cramped snack items for sale...fridge cramped with beverages for sale...
U can't listen to your music too loud and it wasn't even 10PM and it was a weekend
Roof top bar with views of Manhattan. We were there at around sunset and watched light on the Empire State building changing. Brilliant. Room reasonable size for New York and also quiet. Bed very comfortable. Liked the balcony though it only gave a sideways view of Manhattan. Excellent shower.
Breakfast expensive. Hand basin in bathroom tended to flood water onto the floor if both hot and cold taps on together which could wet the spare towels on shelf below basin.
very friendly staff, good location for exploring Williamsburg
bathroom shower didnt work properly
Location and staff helpfulness. Management gave a rebate based on the problems we had.
The bathroom toilet leaked. Air vent in hallway sounded like a jet engine - kept me up at night.
Perfect stay for us! Comfy and clean room with an awesome shower!
I loved the cleanliness and standard of room, bathroom hotel lobby and comfort of the bed. I was solo guest for 2 nights of stay and felt very safe. The muffled noise from the 8 th floor did not disturb me at all.
I arrived at midnight after 16 hours travelling and was dissappointed that the only availble drink/food was from mini bar in my room. I would have loved a hot drink/snack but was told this was not available.
Helpful staff at the desk on arrival and departure.
Very poor value for money. We have stayed at the McCarren a couple of times previously but will look elsewhere for our next visit to Brooklyn.
The beds and pillows were soooo comfortable and the roof top bar with views over Manhattan were a highlight. We didnt use it but the pool and outdoor cabana area and bar looked fantastic. Front desk staff were very helpful and the downstairs restaurant was very much on trend. There was a nice little park adjacent and an awesome little cafe with great coffee & healthy juices etc just around the corner in Bedford Street called The Bean.
I thought there was going to be a park opposite from map but it was a large fenced and concrete recreation area. The area was a little quiet at night as we headed off in search of a recommended pasta restaurant but must have taken a wrong turn and decided to head back to restaurant at the hotel.
Made a mix up of my dates and had no problem in them refunding my money. Bed was so comfy we overslept and nearly missed our train.
Thought it a tad expensive. What looks like a good price on the web site is not when all the extra taxes are added.
The rooftop bar has great views of the NYC skyline. The hotel is well situated in Williamsburg for shopping and restaurants.
Great pool area this really was a amazing! Good cocktails. Great gym facility. Location was perfect. Roof top bar with amazing views and very nice sunset setting. Staff were fantastic. Bed was the comfiest I've slept in ! Better than my home one!
Nothing it was all great
Close to underground.Buzzy Bedford Street.Walking distance to ferry.
Room was small especially if youve got a lot of luggage.Nowhere to hang towels so that they dry.
