The room was a nice size for New York, right in the middle of everything - steps away from Times Square, the Empire State Building, Bryant Park, etc. The room was really lovely and the H2O products were wonderful. Even the bistro next door was top quality food, although not cheap. |

The location was great, so close to Times Square. The room was tiny. The bed took up pretty much the whole room so there was not much comfortable room to walk around or keep your suitcase (unless it was kept in the closet). Wouldn't pay full price for this size room, but luckily I got a really good rate. |

I'd like the perfect positioning in Manhattan. They don't book for you teh shuttle service for the Airport. |

The staff was very polite and helpfull. Everyone made us feel very welcome and the design of the hotel was fabulous. Buy the Hotel Mela Candle!!! It smells phenomenal! The room was not comfortable. It might have been lack of/wrong lighting due to the fact that there was only one small window with a view of another part of the hotel...it was literally a "brick view". It felt very claustrophobic. The room was small but not a big deal for a weekend getaway. |

Great location to Times Square and many other places to see and do, short walk to convenience stores, shops, restaurants with parking garage right next door. Would stay at Hotel Mela again. No direct access to ice machine, it's in the basement hotel staff access only. The 3 elevators are small, slow to respond, 1 for hotel staff use only, 1 stopped between floors and the door opened! These units need immediate service. Coffee maker did not feel it was sanitary and should have covering to indicate it has been cleaned. 1 of the 2 electronic room keys failed every day, an aggravation for 7 days. |

Each and every member of the staff -- maids, computer assistance, front desk, etc., was cordial and helpful. The windows must be at least double pane because our room was on the second floor overlooking 44th Street, and the street noise was hardly noticeable. Of course, it helps that Manhattan has a new ordinance heavily fining motorists for honking. [In that regard, the streets seem almost eerily quiet, at least to the writer who has been in Manhattan a number of times.] When it rained [which was often on this trip], the hotel put out a big container of large umbrellas to use and return -- no checking them out, pure honor system. The business center was a bit primitive, although we didn't use it. Also, the gym was fine for aerobics but had very little "iron"-type apparatuses. |

The hotel has reasonable facilities and a great location, at a price. Rooms are small, particularly for the price and looking a little tired in some respects. |
