Location, facilities, etc.
Lack of working wifi. I was unable to do some work in the comfort of my room.
Pacific View Pet friendliness Cleanliness
This quaint inn is within good walking distance of the township and dinner. Breakfast is good value. The views are lovely. The room was heated to our satisfaction. Staff were helpful.
No complaints at all.
The property had a good view, and was quiet and tranquil.
The continental breakfast was a joke. Didn't have much to offer, and staff didn't seem to care.
The surrounding area was stunning and the view was beautiful.
The room we booked was already booked for another client. We didn't receive the equal accommodations, but was charged the same amount. The system was down, and so was the wifi. Also the continental breakfast left us wanting more filling fair. My wife and I feel slighted.
Quaint. Good location.
Buffett had almost nothing to eat. Only 9am. Staff said not refilling food to another person. Very disappointing. One of reasons we chose hotel.
Room was a good size
Wi-Fi was not available two of the days
Compared to other locations the price was good. Facilities are clean.
Residence is a little "tired" but clean. The continental breakfast was absolutely pathetic. Had to go out to eat elsewhere. A very poor selection of foods and the heating equipment kept tripping a breaker on the power outlets.
Location is not bad, rooms are large with classic furniture.
The place is showing its age. Not very romantic stop. Wifi didn't work well at all. We arrived by 6pm & no one was there, we had to go to another location to pick up keys which was disappointing. Breakfast is a hit & miss. We didn't have bread the first day there. It's not well managed hotel.
Location Friendly staff
Looking worn...needs some TLC
Funky Dozen, entertainment Food was good Room was nice size, cute, comfy Landscaping was very nice, lots of flowers in bloom. Nice experience.
Our room was large. Decent ocean view. Good wifi. Okay BFK Upholstered chairs but smelled rancid.
Towels are VERY thin and worn. Pictures on walls have faded to blue. Headboard falling apart. Mattress hard and lumpy. Upholstered chairs smelled rancid. Sat in hard chairs instead.
Loved everything else
Breakfast was definitely their weak link
The location, history and character of this hotel is marvelous. I loved the grounds and proximity to the town. The staff was friendly and worked to make our stay enjoyable.
The continental breakfast was poor and untended. There was no protein source offered and the coffee ran out and was not replenished. The shower did not work and we couldn't use it the first day. They did fix it in a timely manner. The bed mattress was too firm and when asked if they could do anything to fix it. Nothing was done. The bottom line: A great place to stay if good sleep, shower and breakfast are not a requirement.
Unique site with historic charm.
Breakfast had limited options.
Clean, quiet, walking distance from good restaurants, shops and coast.
poor tv reception.
Staff not attentive. Poor quality breakfast. No milk. Coffee ran out and staff were all downstairs talking so not available to refill. Instant oatmeal? Really?
the size of the room in the annexe. the view out from the breakfast area. A few minutes to walk into Mendocino.
The poor wifi - outside the room was vastly better than inside
Hill house has a beautiful garden with chairs and benches to sit and enjoy the flowers and marvelous view of the ocean. Our room included a cozy fireplace and its own balcony facing the water. The area is quiet and secluded yet close enough to the downtown area to walk. We've stayed in Mendocino many times and thought this was the nicest place so far. Plus the price was a bargain!
The continental breakfast could have been a little better, maybe cold cereal as an option? But not a reason to stay away!
Convenient location, adequate facilities, quiet.
No restaurant on premises.
Good location Friendly staff Quiet Nice view
No screens in the upstairs rooms and the windows were very low. A child could easily fall out the window, as well as a clumsy adult or elderly person. Room smelled a bit musty. Small TV and poor reception.
The Monday night football party was a blast. The food and drinks were good and inexpensive
The price was high for the accommadations. The interior needs to be upgraded.
Large, quiet, quaintly-furnished rooms
Located off Highway 1 with easy access and egress. The staff were kind and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean but our room was at ground level with only a sliding glass door and no window. Breakfast was well laid out and amply supplied. The grounds were well maintained
With no window at ground level room and no air conditioning we were uncomfortably warm at night as we did not feel comfortable leaving the sliding glass door open. It had no screen.
