Wifi was horriable! In and out all 2 days. Found roaches in the bathroom. Door wouldn't lock. Staff was very loud in the hall way! Staff did not obey the do not disturb sign on the door. They knock to ask if I needed towels!
Great location and price! Loved the pool and the hotel's history!
Everything was good
The hotel is lovely and full of history, we loved every thing about it. The staff was first class
Don't miss the Sunday Champagne Brunch!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.
Perfect location for getting to San Antonio sites including Riverwalk, downtown, and Alamo
Parking $24 - not bad. Wifi slow.
next to the Alamo, opposite the River walk.
Waited till 5:00 pm to get checked in wasted part of my first day
Did not think there were any little extras to differentiate this property.
History of hotel
Charm and ambience of hotel
Location and character.
Amazing location directly adjacent to Alamo Plaza and steps from the river walk. Make sure to check out the El Merchado for all things Mexican. Also the sunday brunch looked incredible.
Price and the location.
The rooms were very small and shower/tub
The old time look of the hotel and history
The cost of the room was a little high but in line with other hotels downtown. It would be nice if people who can't afford to stay downtown had a option cheaper so they could experience the downtown ambiance.
Would like to go out on the balcony. Would like a little cheaper rate.
Most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Room was very small. The gym was a joke.
Location was convenient - right beside the Alamo and the mall.
The bathroom door in my room didn't close. And the lock on my main door to my room didn't lock.
The bed was very comfortable. The main lobby was beautiful. The pool was relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
rooms not clean, Airconditioning partially, bathrooms dirty, Internet only occasionally, to few elevators, no customer service at the pool,
Lobby was nice, staff extremely friendly, Manager handled rooms issue very well, romantic setup
Air conditionning wasnt working, so we spent the day waiting for the technician. In the morning, they woke us up at 7 saying there was water floading from our room. They checked and it was the room next to ours. But an hour later, a technician came into our room without knocking, by mistake! So I complained about this stay full of trouble and hotel management didnt charge the room/
Superb location and design, unique atmosphere. Excellent client service.
I drove from San Antonio to Boston. Starting at the Menger at $200 plus dollars which is fine. The other two hotels I stayed at was a Hampton Inn & Comfort Inn & Suites at $100. I must say both these hotels were new, bright & shiny at half the price. It's time to upgrade you hotel without losing the history factor. You have to justify the $200 plus per night. I wish you the best.
I'm a history guy, so I love your Hotel!!
The water ran hot and cold in the shower. I was going to eat at the restaurant at the hotel but considered it too expensive.
The location & the price
Our room wasn't ready when we got there at 1pm which was ok since check in wasn't until 3.They said they'd call us when it was ready which wasn't until 3:30 when I was standing at their front desk. Our initial room was spacious with a king size bed but had an air conditioning problem so they ended up putting us in a tiny room with a queen size bed that had wallpaper coming off the ceiling, a dripping bathroom faucet, mold on the bathroom tiles, and a shower head that had so much pressure my skin was red by the end of my shower. No apology.
The Menger is a beautiful, historic hotel located ideally next to the Alamo and many other touristy spots. The lobby and bar are worth seeing if you aren't staying here.
It was too hot management controlled air conditioning would not go back will not recommend others stay there.
Wifi kept losing signal....must have been the ghosts D:
Historical hotel and area surrounding the hotel was in great distance off enough places to keep us busy and not bored.
I did not feel a warm and corteous welcome by some of the staff.
the location and the cleanliness
