Loads of towels and balcony for a smoker.
Wifi should be easier to connect. Problematic.
Convenience and equipped kitchenette
Slow attitude of staff to clean bathroom - when we arrived there were hairs in the bath and it took an hour of them trying to apportion blame before they actually cleaned it.
Warm, comfortable and clean accommodation. Excellent value for money. Great views of the city at night. The traffic noise was bearable - living in London, it was not too bad. We were given 12th floor accommodation so noise level was as expected in a bustling city. Friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
Taxi drivers reluctant to take you directly to accommodation. Happy to drop you a couple of blocks away - something to do with the road system that doesn't suit them. However, my daughter has Ms so this became a problem for us.
The apartment was well presented and in a great location for going to local attractions. We could do all on foot
Our room was located on the ground floor and the noise from the night staff at the reception was far too loud. On our last night they started to do some refurb work on the lifts at 1am!!! When we complained they offered to change our room but as we were getting up at 5.30 to go to the airport this was not practicle
Our second stay at Metro was in 1 bedroom studio on level 11 still very noisy however could not fault the apartment. Location great.
Do not book a studio apartment ours was shabby, we had to ask for bath towels shower gel shampoo etc. In general the studio needed completely demolishing and starting again. Traffic noise horrific luckily we had earplugs. Staff however were fantastic.
This was a great choice for me not only for location but for the excellent set up- kitchen, spacious, kitchen facilities and convenience to all things New York (food markets, theatre, subway,Times Square. It even had a little balcony. You looked after yourself -towels put in the basket, trash in the trash room and if you wanted replacements you asked and received including toiletries - that's why I loved this set up. Also you can ask for an extended stay for $25 p/h if you've got a late night flight, thanks!
I liked everything except the traffic noise, it's very near the Lincoln Tunnel entrance/exit - a problem easily solved with some decent thick curtains (not curtains as thin as a shower curtain.). Also maybe a change of sheets as I was there 8 nights(perhaps I should have asked). Overall there's little to complain about at all unless you're expecting a 4 star hotel.
Way too loud, windows are not sound proof or whether proof, can get really cold!
Staff claimed not to know of broken bed but... Nice reception glad not to have room service.Fantastic views of noisy
Hadn't been used or dusted for at least week.Still good way of getting 2 beds when apparently only paid for one Bus station for all NYC. double glazing mainly effective so compromises positive and 10 minute walk to Times Square Bus adjacent ( Block away)to Church community project. Positive compromises all round. Loved it
Location, Staff, Facilities, Vouchers at Reception, Luggage room, Hotel/Airport Shuttle (Even though we didn't avail of this) Balcony, View.
The courteous of the staff & the hotel overall was nice & clean. Centrally located & priced just right .
The understaffing at the frontdesk . There is too much traffic sometimes for one person.
Close to subway
Looking at other accommodation I could have picked this was a great choice. Superb location, minutes from Times Square at a sensible price. The size of the appartment was exceptionally good compared to most low cost places I have stayed at.
Limited on site facilities but because it was so well located this was not a problem.
It was my second stay at the Metro. 7 of us (family ) had a wonderful time they also agreed they would recommend It to friends and family . Diane and her staff are the most friendly and helpful people.
My room was a little too close to the bus station so it was quite noisy in the mornings.
It needs a mirror in another room, 1 in the washroom when rooming with people isn't enough. The fold out bed shouldn't even be in there cause it isn't useful at all.
Cleanliness of the apartment, well equipped kitchenette, good wifi, safe place to leave luggage, efficient check in and out, very near Times Square and also local convenience store and good diner.
Noisy street outside but that is New York and can't be avoided.
5 minutes walk from Times Square and about 10 from Empire State and Bryant Park. You can do anything from there by foot.
The staff was only there to do their job and not to accomodate the guests. No help. Our room had ants in it and the only thing offered from the hotel was a room change...and that room was a cheaper version of the first one.
1.Location. A 5 minutes walking to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. 10 minutes to the time Times Sq 2.Kitchen. Perfect for a family 3.Bed. Very comfortable
1.Noise of the cars on the street, especially of the buses. Make sure to bring your ear plugs no matter how high you apartment is. 2. The water of the shower was unstable. In the beginning the temperature of hot water was high, but within 10 minutes it declined.
The room was stylish and comfortable
The immediate are is a bit unattractive with the overpass.
Close to Times Square. Slept well, surprisingly, despite the noise. Bed comfortable.
Very dirty. Thick dust above door frames. We wiped round with antibacterial wipes on door handles and other regularly touched surfaces and the wipes were disgusting after. We seriously considered not staying and would have left had we not had paid already. Our room, despite asking for a quiet one, was directly above the bus terminal. It was very loud most of the time and was a congregating place for pigeons. The room wasn't decorated very well. It looked in need of a repaint. Strangely, no effort was made to hide cables/wires and in the hallway there were wires loosely hanging above your head. No soap in the bathroom. The free wi-fi didn't always work. The ironing board was a table top tiny one. Too many corners cut on this place I'm afraid, which took the gloss off our stay in NYC.
Walking distance to Times Square and Broadway shows. Close proximity to supermarket. We ate in 3 of the 7 nights, so handy to have kitchen. Our family had 3 units, including 4 children (9-12). We asked for cleaning service to be done halfway through our stay, which was quite sufficient, and extra towels could be had at reception.
Transit station nearby, however it certainly didn't affect our sleeping.
Good for one night to/from airport or someone on budget. Walking distance to Times Square. Small kitchen. Not too noisy considering industrial looking area. Walking to diners, food, etc. and 10min walk to Penn Station. Clean
Wouldn't stay here personally for more than one night but good for budget.
We had tickets to comic con.. The walking distance was fantastic everything around will definatley book again next year..
Although an older facility, finishes and furniture were all new. Blocks to Times Square and transportation makes location convenient.
Next to garages and Lincoln Tunnel ramp - with air conditioning on, couldn't hear any traffic with closed windows. Morning coffee and snack in lobby - ?
