Great location for sightseeing and shopping, we love this hotel and stay whenever we are in NYC
Nothing, it's great !
Too high a price for a hotel of that standard
The Room rate was too HIGH
Loved the location!! Penn station, Shopping, and short walk to times square. Hotel staff was very pleasant. They allowed us to check in early!! My mom and I had a wonderful girls weekend!! We would definitely recommend this hotel! In fact we are planning another trip around Christmas and are planning to stay at Hotel Metro again!
The concierge was terrific - friendly and helpful. Rooms were dull but very clean.
If you're interested in a hotel that prides itself on your safety, then beware of Hotel Metro. We were given the key to our room, but "oops" it was the key to someone else's room. We could have taken wallet, phone, watch. Manager didn't even have the courtesy to call us and apologize (we had to pursue her). Front desk staff just said "oh it happens some times." We were afraid the whole time that someone might walk into our room. Then we arrived back to hotel about midnight on our second night and a woman off the street was sleeping in the lobby with her multiple bags and layers of clothes. We fully support shelter for homeless people but not in our hotel lobby -- and not one staff person was there to address our concern! ST and PR
location was perfect, staff very helpful, room was ideal
could have done with a few more items for the continental breakfast,ie, cold meats, eggs
Good location. Nice, clean rooms. Breakfast good enough.
was a dated ,could do with refurbishment
A short walk from Penn Station - perfect location for business and pleasure
I never stayed here before and was a little hesitant but I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. To my surprise, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was huge, 3 separate shower heads, great staff and location. Great hotel and would stay there again.
Very small tight elevator and limited selection for breakfast.
Rooftop terrace with one of the best views on Empire State building. Location: close to Grand Central, Bryant Park, Times sq, Penn Station, Midtown... Amazing staff Comfortable bed Fast and free wi-fi
The shower only had a handle on the outside and the shower opened out so the only way to shut door was on your hands and knees pulling bottom of door towards you! Toilet was very close to sink. Rom 505.
Location was central for exploring ny and close to subway station. Easy to pop back to the hotel during the day. The continental breakfast was okay but not up to the standards we have been used to in Europe. Room was good size, modern, clean and comfortable. Safe was big enought to store wide screen laptop. Umbrella in room was handy when it rained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay at this hotel again.
Nothing major but room could do with better sound proofing. Street noise was loud from first floor if you are a light sleeper. Also, heating system a bit noisy too.
The view from the roof terrace - amazing! :) Right in the heart of the shopping too.
The paper plates and plastic cutlery for breakfast.
Good location, close to subway. Breakfast was good. Concierge was very helpful.
Pretty expensive for the tired facilities but it is New York...
Close to shopping Macy's etc
Plastic disposable cutlery plates and cups are unacceptable in an expensive hotel no trays poor choice of breakfast no cheeses or cold meats etc most staff unhelpful
Room & bathroom were very clean. Mattress very comfortable. Staff very accommodating. We like the central location.
Rooms was very big, clean and has good beds, wonderful location, close to nearly everything eg Penn station. We would go there again!
airco too loud and breakfast not in line with the luxury of the hotel
Nice looking hotel inside and outside, comfortable large room with big bed. Breakfast included in the price. Perfectly located to visit anywhere in New York and a subway stop only 2 mins away.
Paper cups for coffee and paper plates for breakfast.
Breakfast very poor -plastic cutlery and disposable plates and cups Lift waits very long
Location, location, location great hotel clean, friendly and good breakfast. We are so happy we chose to stay here, and wouldn't hesitate to re-book if we go back to New York
Only negative was the WiFi for us but this didn't really spoil the stay, only meant we could stay in touch with people back home.
We were upgraded to a suite, which was quite luxurious! The location was perfect, right in the centre of Midtown. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast could have been more varied e.g. with ham and cheese.
The concierge, a smiling man with glasses, was a wealth of information and always kind.
When we got there on Friday, late morning, the door man was outside on his cell phone. We were loaded down with bags; he turned his head the other way. We opened the doors ourselves. Again on the day we arrived, the front desk receptionist, a woman, was very snappy and patronizing. I chalked it up to her immaturity. I had to tell her I needed the business center twice. When she gave me the key, she admonished, "you only have 30 minutes!" To be fair, the front desk staff on the following day, a Saturday, was much, much better. They were different people.
The bathroom, the bed, decoration, location.
The room is very small.
Wonderful place to stay in NYC! Great location, easy access to metro, comfortable beds, very nice staff, And charming penthouse floor patio w/incredible view of Empire State Building. Check it out at night!
