The location is perfect, close to everything. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was very good and the bed very comfortable.
They disputed my use of different credit cards to book via booking, which they initially refused and I had to call the hotel to clarify. I have been very disappointed by their attitude during the conversation and also partially at the reception once at the hotel. I have then appreciated a free room upgrade.
Very good location, clean hotel, good value for money. Decent breakfast included.
Non particularly kind staff. They hold money on the credit card to secure the booking and it took up to four weeks to get back them available.
Location, cleanliness, complimentary breakfast, free wifi. Good value for money.
There has been an unfortunate misunderstanding as they were suspicious for my use of different credit cards for my reservations and they were not accepting them for the bookings. I have been not particularly happy with that and also I did not appreciate their attitude on the phone when I called to clarify. I have then appreciated the free upgrade of my room. I did not particularly liked the attitude of some of the front office staff. I did not like that they hold money on my credit cards to secure the bookings; It took weeks to have them unlocked after the payment.
Location, cleanliness, wifi, decent complimentary breakfast. They made up for a misunderstanding with an appreciated upgrade of my room. Good value for money. I would go back and recommend this hotel.
Free upgrade recieved because it was my 40th!!! Bed was extreamly comfortable, great value for money & best of all location was perfect. Most things were in walking distance, the closest was Macy's & Empire State in the next street & Madison Square Gardens. Also check out their bar/restaurant next door.
Paper coffee cups, noisy air con,
Location, bed, rooftop terrace, safe,
A full size bath would have been great.
Comfortable bed, bed sheets changed every day.
location excellent between east and west. cozy- small. nice continental breakfast. stuff especially Sue and Rachel very friendly. excellent bed.
The breakfast was basic. But better than nothing.
Loved everything about the hotel
staff and static
Doorman holds open the door to welcome and as you exit. Staff are friendly. Fancy architecture upon entrance. Clean halls. Clean room and bathroom. Bed is comfortable. Cable tv. Fridge included. Safe in room. Umbrella included-return at end of stay. Useful on a rainy day that I stayed. Customer controls room thermostat. Continental breakfast was yummy-array of muffins, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, tea & coffee. Lounge area complete w cable tv. Gym w equipment. Rooftop nice. Would return. Do recommend. 1/2 block away and u step into Herald Square. 1 block away & ur in Koreatown.
If I had to say one thing all I could say is possibly the reception staff could be a bit more smiley.
The location of this hotel was great. I can not fault one thing. Waking up to the Empire State building outside my bedroom window was fab. Complimentary breakfast was adequate. Room was lovely. Would definitely return, no questions.
Everything was great-- staff, location, and quality for the price
Noisy air conditioning
The Air con system was like a jet engine when it kicked in, and the room got cold quickly if the air con was off (Visited in early March with lots of snow). The included breakfast was cereal and pastries nothing cooked. (was available on request at a cost)
It is within walking distance of Macey's (3 mins), Empire state building (5 mins), the rock (5 mins), Time Square (15mins), and central park and Bloomingdale's is a 25 minute walk, with local Irish bars and places to eat.The hotel is very good for local connections, From JFK we got the air Train ($6) and switched at Jamaica to the train ($7) for Penn station with a 3 min walk to the hotel. Penn station (34th street next to Macey's) is also a Tube station uptown or downtown, $2.75 for a ride in any direction or distance, Ideal for the tube to Clark street and walk back in to the city over the Brooklyn Bridge to wall street ground zero and Liberty, with a short ride back. The hotel is very clean, our Rooms were well maintained, and very comfy, with hot drinks in the breakfast room all day. The staff are very helpful, willing to advise and point you in the right direction without been condescending.
I had a non smoking room but I could smell smoke odor possibly coming from vent. Other than that it was fine.
friendly staff, clean room near Macy's and many attractions. Had dinner at the adjacent restaurant food was great and the staff were excellent.
The room was too small for such large furniture. The air conditioner/heater was very loud, we had to switch it off.
The hotel has a special atmosphere with its 1930s decorum, it is comfortable, clean, the staff members are very helpful.
The street noise was awful- all night long every hour trucks delivering. I was on the 11th floor and it still sounded as though it was right outside my window. The bed was hard as a rock- but if you like a firm mattress- this is not a problem- my traveling companion liked the firmness of the bed
The room was very clean with nice shower, flat screen TV, etc. The continental breakfast was a nice variety and fresh. The staff was very friendly
Cleanliness throughout the hotel. Loved the attached restaurant with its 15% discount to hotel guests.
I had asked for a view as it was my hubby's birthday weekend away and the hotel left a bottle of bubbly in the room, very nice gesture.
Daytime staff was not helpful and did their bare minimum. Night staff was great though. Breakfast was "minimalistic"
good room, great bed
I didn't like the fact that breakfast comes with my room which is served 6-11am but at 10 am theirs nothing their to eat but yogurt! I paid for a king room with a view but the view was buildings and theirs no room service !
I like the restaurant for dinner. The King bed was very comfortable !
The staff were lovely, the room was amazing, the inclusive breakfast was very good and the location for NYC attractions was brilliant. We would stay there again and would highly recommend this hotel to others.
The wi-fi was a little slow but that's all I could find to complain about.
It's a small hotel but it feels more like a big one, partly because all the employees are very efficient as well as friendly. The bar/restaurant is excellent and the rooms are large and comfortable with high ceilings and great bathrooms.
