Score from 4502 reviews Good
Slow wi-fi/weak signal in the back rooms
The gentleman at check in was not very friendly..he was very short with us.
Female staff..3 that we encountered were all friendly.
The required $100 security deposit needed without prior notice; can be done on credit card or in cash. No hotel pool.
Proximity to downtown Miami; roomy room; clean room; bright environment
The power outlet is behind the bed. It is hard to access it. No Kettle or coffee maker.
Very clean room and bathroom. Very clean bedding and white soft towels. Everything made with love to all the guests. Good working Wi-Fi. Even breakfast included!
Poorly designed bathrooms.
not clean, not friendly, need to pay upfront and difficult to get an invoice
Safe, free parking, wifi
Easy to find, close to busstop, sufficient parking
The room was cramped, there were little sugar ants everywhere and the man giving out breakfasts was very rude and unfriendly!
George Washington was friendly and courteous.
Very noisy. Room on side. Breakfast had no nutrient content except banana.
Staff. Room upstairs on the back.
Way too expensive for what you get, better to go a bit outside Miami and get something decent.
The room was clean
Scraping and banging of feet and furniture above the thin ceiling, all night long. Noise from the road was a problem.
Price and location were desirable. Quaint mid-century design.
Room smelled a lot and bed was super old and uncomfortable.
Stuff fantastic, great location, bathroom was very clean , nice shower and spacious room.
Although I didn't like the loud air-conditioning (the air in the room was quite stuffy in the night), I have no complaints, because I understand this is a budget motel and I am not used to sleeping with air-conditioning. I noticed that the safe was there, but it did not work (it seems that already for a long time nobody has touched it). I know, I should have asked to repair it, but it was not that important for me. Btw, the iron was too dirty for ironing the clothes. Now I understand that this motel is more suitable for those who just want to spend 1 night there, not for an extended stay.
The motel is a historical building. Actually, it is not that noisy as I expected. I liked the fact that there was a breakfast (consists of: an orange juice+ a tea or coffee+ a banana or an orange+ a muffin+ an American "croissant"+a yoghurt+ a jam and a margarine). It is a silent enough place, although near a major street. I received a hair-dryer when I asked for it. I and my husband felt safe in the hotel and its neighbourhood. The staff is friendly.
smell of chlorine based detergents
good choice to travel to Miami (directly at US1) no noise from street (we were in a room to the street) many stores in the near neighborhood
Not very nice amenities for the money. Had to leave a $100 deposit that was to be returned after inspection of room at checkout. Minimal room for toiletries in bath.
Location for our purposes.
Please add room phone
I didn't like the long wait to check in but it was very busy
Location and the nice room enjoyed my stay in Miami or my 22nd birthday
too small. No decor. like a jail cell. very plain, tile floor.
Breakfast was poor - very sweet (unhealthy) choices. Orange juice was no juice but an adulterated drink with lots of sugar (corn syrup?). This was not the hotel's fault, since breakfast was catered by a restaurant called La Tour Eiffel on Biscayne Blvd. in Miami.
I was close enough to south beach, downtown miami and hard rock casino. Easy to get around central location. Would never have guessed I was close to little Haiti. Drove over to little Havana great clubs, restaurants and Latin vibe! Shalimar was very secure. Excellent staff. Very helpful!
Many stories around. 10 minutes beach and airport
The room was stinking when I got in, I guess this is the smell the hotel has. And the room was too overpriced, I don't think the hotel deserves what they charge you.
Wi-Fi and receptionist were the best. The guy who made my check-in was so funny and gentile!
The front desk staff was very unfriendly
location, free parking, clean space.
The breakfast was disappointing and the guy serving it could be more friendly ... The toilet was not very clean The reception could be more helpful
Overall, it was convenient
