This place was so dirty, old, and run down. The carpet was disgusting, stained, and rippling everywhere. We will never stay here again despite the great location.
Great location, well stocked breakfast buffet, friendly helpful staff.
Lobby area could use a good cleaning. Room needed a little attention---a piece of broken paneling was taped back up; bathroom tiles could have been cleaner.
Room was very small and price high for such a small room
mountain view proximity to Great Smoky Mountain Railroad recommendation of staff for restaurant coffee availability all day
Set up on a hill so there's no road noise. Room darkening curtains. Lovely immaculate room and bath. Breakfast buffet with a nice set up. Close to Bryson City, several good restaurants, and close to the train for rafting if you prefer not to drive. We were there for 2 nights and would definitely choose Microtel again.
all around well done!
parking lot entrance was hard to navigate on a motorcycle
:Hotel was clean and quiet. Reasonably well maintained.
Front desk staff had a real negative attitude.
Lobby area was clean and neat. Friendly staff. Good location.
Carpet was worn and dirty. Bed was uncomfortable.
It was very clean, quite and the staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for good places to eat. We would stay there again.
The mattress in our room needed replacing. It wanted to cause you to roll to the middle of the bed which was somewhat uncomfortable when two people are sleeping in the bed. Also you did not have a selection of a firm pillow or soft pillow. All the pillows in the room were firm.
It was a good value for the money.
Our room had some cosmetic issues, but not anything which caused us any discomfort or inconvenience.
Clean and quiet. Friendly staff.
Colse to Train Station
Room was very small.
Mattresses and pillows were great!!
Would have liked more hot choices for breakfast. And we wanted to watch sports but no sports channels. Because of this we probably will not stay here again. Also the bath tub would not hold water.
Proximity to Bryson City. Staff was accommodating.
Lack of exterior seating with scenic view. Room overhead lighting was horrible. Carb heavy breakfast.
The desk clerk the night of Oct 5th was very nice and helpful. Our room didn't have a blow dryer but she was able to give us one a guest had left.
We were on motorcycles and it was 43 degrees and saw hot chocolate but when we came back down it was all gone. The "boss" with the keys didn't come in to work so she couldn't get more from the store room. Why is hot chocolate so special that it is under lock and key?
Carpets were very stained. We were there for the train ride and the hotel is a long way from the train station.
The suite was spacious, comfortable, and full of bonuses like a dining bar and a window seat in the room. We enjoyed the sitting area and the restful pillow top mattress. The staff was very accommodating and helped us with reservations for our next hotel and also with getting tickets faxed to the hotel that we needed for the next day.
The hot water was not working the last morning we were there. The desk clerk said the pilot light had gone out and she did not know if the has was out or if the burner was malfunctioning. She said the gas company was on its way but the cold shower was not fun.
The breakfast was very minimal. Not good
The room was nice and quiet. The location was quiet. I like the difference of the location. It was very unique. I liked the coffee that was in the room and the set up of the room was nice.
I didn't like the selection of TV channels. I wish their was more variety on the breakfast bar.
Liked how close it was to Bryson City.
The first room we were shown had a terrible odor. The second room which we stayed in had an air conditioner with a fan that came on and off with a loud noise all night which kept us awake. I have to have a fan during the summer so cutting it off was not an option .
Staff was very friendly. Easy check in and check out. Very comfortable beds. Very quiet not a lot noise.
Wifi had a difficult time connecting laptop while in the room.
Bed was u shaped. Good for closeness to partner, poor for a good night's sleep. A/c would not respond to controls.
Staff. Comfortable room.
