Score from 815 reviews Very good
Reasonable location, very roomy and clean
very cheap; good location on a quiet street next to the subway; fridge in the room
very thin walls so you hear everything inside and outside the house; no table in the room; virtual reception works but feels a bit impersonal
Studio apartment walk up with cable TV, microwave and mini fridge in residential neighborhood. Modern bathroom. Everything was clean. My location 2 short blocks to Coney Island Avenue for local restaurants. Subway 2 blocks away.
I was sent to second location 4 blocks away. Ok if you have a car. Parking can be tough to find.
Location is near subway station
Pillows were too soft. No chairs or tables. It took 5 minutes for hot water to start running
Very conveniently located near subway. Large, clean, charming rooms with nice view of quiet street. The maid provided excellent service.
Half the time there was no internet connection. The proprietor was arrogant .
i liked everything the was comfortable and warm, it was easy for us to relax
i didnt like maintainance knocking the door constantly while i was naked to fix a window, when i was checking out in less than an hour. The window could be fixed when i was gone
Location, n nice space for your money
That the studio had two full size beds. Too small for me n hubby
Close to the metro (Q-line, which is local so the trip to Manhattan takes a while). Good neighborhood (as far as Brooklyn goes). Quiet and clean (lucky we did not need the AC)
Bed was squeaky. Not so handy to he airports - lots of transfers on the metro. Consider a taxi ($$$). No staff on site, but that was OK as everything could be done remotely.
room was very poor furnished , no phone no heat. I am not sure how come the temperature at night is 40s and no heat . I highly NOT recommend due to the poor experience.
Modern clean rooms, wonderful location. Love to visit again now that I know of the place.
The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't reach the receiptionist before I got there, there's no sign on the building so I began to get suspicious.
The room was clean. Seemed to be a safe neighborhood. Very convenient to subway/train. Close to great pizza restaurant and bagel shop.
No remote for the TV. If my wife would have been alone, she could have never figured out how to turn on TV. Walls very thin, we could hear everything happening next door and they were not quiet. No housekeeping on Saturday due to Jewish Sabbath.
Location in a quiet neighborhood Everything I needed
Cell phone connection
Great value for money, especially for a day or two - not that extremely far from NYC especially considering NYC's prices
Very college feeling to it dormitory style. Nice and clean, not noisy at all.
Enough room, good WiFi, reasonable price in local standards
No reception in traditional sense, there were no spoons, forks, etc. in the kitchen, no telephone in the apartment, poor old air conditioners
Quiet for a city location.
Bed was a brick. Check in was via a phone and lockbox. Strange place.
We originally went to the first location, only to find out our reservation was booked for the second location, so we walked the half mile to a different spot. Maybe a different name for the second location would help?! We liked to location of the second place better. The area is quiet, you can even hear the crickets chirping outside (in September)! The check in/check out process is different than any place I have been to, but its efficient and the phone operator is nice. The room was very clean, we felt like we were staying at our friends guest room. The bathroom was excellent - nice shower etc. i would recommend this hotel to someone who wants to be away from the touristy areas or a local looking for a cheap retreat. I will be back I am sure!
Dirty carpet- but honestly thats about it!
I got to the hotel a little early they let me check right in my room was small but very clean and fresh smelling it was very comforting to return to after being downtown !
It was a bit far from where I needed to be but I had never been to NY before so that's my fault There is a train stop very close which was great ! I'm Thankful I stayed here I felt safe alone here
Worn broken furnishings outside of building both front and back unappealing
Close to subway station with direct connection to Manhattan and relatively easy way to get JFK Airport, cable TV, squirrels in the garden.
Little table and only two chairs, excavations in front of house (we arrived when reconstruction work of patio were running), separated beds (in a bedroom).
Price was decent, kitchenette and electric kettle useful. Nice to have a sitting room, TV, and a separate bedroom.
There are only three rooms, and no elevator, and I was on the third floor, up narrow stairs. No warning that this was the case, either. That information is not on their site. I happen to have had a knee problem that week so it was an issue. When I tried to ask the lady downstairs who was chatting on the driveway with deliverymen about perhaps changing my room, ("Hi, could I talk to you about my room?") she stormed away from me without answering and looked angry that I had addressed her. Very odd. Managers never even responded to an email asking for a late checkout. To this day. Fully 20-30 minutes by subway to Downtown Brooklyn, more time and expensive by cab, yet when booking the room the male manager only told me about taking a cab, though there is a subway at the end of the block, I discovered. Odd management.
It's close to the subway stop, clean and comfortable
It's quite far away from Manhattan, the room is small, hard to find and there is not really a kitchen facility.
When we followed GPS to get there, we weren't sure about this place. Maybe it's because it was dark out but we were like, "are we at the right place?" It tured out that it's close to supermarket and train station, bed is comfy, and room was clean. We drove to Corney island but we took subway to NYC. Both really easy and no hassle! We def will stay again!
The room was cleaner than any hotel I've ever been too. The in check in is automated, you don't have any contact with the hotel staff, ever. The area around you is nicknamed lil Pakistan, there are 3 small corner stores and 1 fast food restaurant close by ad 3 sit down restaurants. The subway is only 200 yards away.
There is nothing in the area of the hotel, you have limited resources. You have too travel to get anything. The neighborhood is old and run down. This is simply a place too rest and shower.
5-10 minutes from a subway station
Dirty bed sheets, blood stains on pillow cases. Furniture construction in the back yard (loud). Bad wifi connection. The staff doesn't speek English, only Spanish. Window curtains are transparent -> you wake up at sunrise. No elevator.
