Centrally-located in midtown Manhattan, this New York hotel is a 10-minute walk from both Central Park and Times Square.
Score from 3049 reviews Good
Hotel location excellently placed in the financial district with view of the Freedom Tower and easy access to main subway routes. Gym access 24 hours and well equiped with newer machines and free weights.
Given the price per night the room the entire week was not cleaned sufficiently. Dust lay thicker and thicker throughout the week. Wifi access only free in the lobby, with in room access extortionate given price per room per night. The heating did not work on the last night. The mini bar was locked throughout the stay and room service was booked on our bill which wasnt ours (they did remove it without question but read your bill thoroughly before payment).
This hotel has the best location if you are in NYC the first time and you want to see as much as possible. PATH station around the corner, subway station just a stone`s throw away (easy to get to and fro the airports if you want to save taxi fees) and Wall Street, WTC, Brooklyn Bridge etc in comfortable walking distance. It was my 4th visit and I will most probably stay at MH for my 5th one again. Staff was super nice.
I think the restrooms in the lobby could need a little more attention. Free WIFI in the rooms should be standard in each and any hotel worldwide nowadays.
Fantastic view of the city from a corner room on the 39th floor. Great location for visiting Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero.
Wonderful service from everyone! Very kind, welcoming, and accommodated all needs! Views are SPECTACULAR!!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!
Have to pay for WiFi and room service is VERY expensive.
Room view was amazing bed very good ,
Not much to dislike
Nice swimming pool and fitness center. Room was comfortable and clean. Very convenient to all major subways.
Not enough TV channels, movies were really pricey.
They tried to overcharge me. It was not a smooth, comfortable experience. they locked me out of my room after trying to overcharge me. I had to call booking.com to have it dealt with. Terrible..
Location....right spot on where we need to be. Everything is nearby.
Right next to 911 memorial. Easy access to subway.
3 further hotel charges on your bill which is not mentioned by bookings.com
Location, bathroom , flatscreen, roomview , comfort of beds, friendly concierge staff.
No free wifi.
Great service and views are spectacular!
View from the room and location
Rooms are old, could ear people on the other room perfectly
The bed was very comfortable. The view was beautiful.
For the price you pay a night you should receive free wifi in your room. Unacceptable! There is not a refrigerator for your own convenience and leisure.
The Bed Comfort N the City Skyline View was Epic!! The Bellman was truly phenomenal let me secure my personal bags while we went sight seeing N they were able to get us a cab within minutes!! Those guys were simply awesome!!
Asked for a Jr. Suite N the Hotel couldn't accommodate me gave us a King Size bed instead. There was no shower jel provided like most 5 Star Hotels.
We stayed in a junior suite - it was a lovely room with an excellent view over the world trade centre site.
Stayed for five days booked this hotel over other hotels in the area as had fitness facility and indoor pool. Fitness equipment mostly broken and we were unable to workout until the last morning of our stay pre checkout when all the equipment was replaced. Maid locked the minibar twice - inconvenient and had to get reception to unlock - they couldn't explain to us why it had been locked.
It is rare and strange for an hotel in NYC not to have free wifi in the rooms.
location is very good
customer service, cleanliness of the rooms, broken parts of doors, hangers on doors, and door knobs loose , not acceptable for a 4* hotel
Location to my office
Old hotel, weak wifi.
Everything! The most comfortable and pleasant hotel stay, the staff was wonderful!
Had a breathtaking view to the north from a corner room on an upper floor especially at night. The front of the hotel is just across the street from the Freedom Tower & new mall being constructed. It is just a few blocks from Wall Street & Trinity Church. Many restaurants are nearby as well as businesses & subway stops & an open park area. Large double rooms but beds are large twins not full size. Comfortable, clean & quiet. We stayed when rates were lower for 6 nights but left on Christmas Day when rates doubled. Would stay here again.
Significant room rate increase on Christmas Day.
I loved my view, my room was really great & very clean. I loved the on-site gym - note that 2 of the treadmills aren't working properly.
My room was too warm & my phone wasn't working properly so beyond going downstairs to say something, there wasn't much I could do about it. I also really wanted room service but without the phone, I couldn't call.
Incredible views from the 26th floor overlooking the new Freedom Tower and old WTC site. Super clean as you'd expect and the staff was attentive and friendly.
The downside comes in regard to wifi. The only free wifi is available in the lobby downstairs and you must pay $12.95 a night for SLOW, throttled wifi in your room! Imagine. In 2015! If you wanted faster wifi at more normal speeds that was $15.95 a day. Yes, PER DAY. When you spend $200 a night for a room, NYC or not, I think you come to expect free wifi these days.
The location was great, the view from the room was spectacular, the personnel was kind and professional, in the heart of Lower Manhattan
Parking was additional and restricted (but again in NYC it is). Breakfast was not included.
staff was wonderful
needs more variety in their menu
Excellent all around and we give the lobby guys credit too and the security feature of the delivery was a good thing. But one issue was the early checkin and the lady never called us to let us know whether we can check in early. So pluses all around and 1 minus
No free Wi-Fi
