Nice room - spacious for NY Very good view - room is comfortable Staff efficient without being overly exuberant Useful coffee near the lobby
Room was cold but I was also a little dumb when it came to adjusting the temp No kettle, tea or coffee in the room
I didn't like they held a 50 deposit
Friendly staff, close to UN
Location close to my Office
No freezer in room for client use
A young gentleman (receptionist) who tried to look for a room with a nice view.
A young lady (receptionist) who immediately cried that I had to stay behind the line nerar the reception desk (though I hadn't observed any line). C'est le ton quie fait la musique. Fortunately the young gentleman mentioned at the left side of this page was immediately prepared to help. Still a suggestion: do not charge internet separately; it is a little bit outdated.
Housekeeping was lovely and helpful
Wifi fee was outrageous: per device. Old furniture, no refrigerator, no coffee pot, dirty wall paper in bathroom. Soiled rug.
the location for those who have business with the UN
the room is too simple, even without telephone in bathroom. WiFi should be free.
The hotel is very close to Grand Central
No free WiFi
This Hotel has definitely seen better days many years ago. Today indoor furnishing is totally washed-up. The small sofa in my room was shabby and outworn, the standard lamp warped. a small glass plate between beds was lopsided due to loose anchoring in the wooden wall panel. Hence the alarm clock and all other items placed there fall down several times over night; bath tube is in a very bad shape; sealing material is old and dirty and the fitting of the shower was defective. When I complained about the poor condition of the room the front desk staff offered a refurbished room for an additional charge of 100 USD/night, which I perceived as brazenness. Further negative: Internet access is being charged with 12 USD/day for each device(!!) you want to connect. The pool, which used to be the big plus of this Hotel, is indefinitely closed due to renovation. If you may expect standards of a luxury hotel you should avoid this hotel.
The perfect choice if you want to be close to the UN. The staff are amazingly nice, they do everything to help you ! Rooms are large and clean but ask them to put you in the renovated building
Paying for wifi
The fact that internet is not included The gym needs renovation and maintenance
Free WiFi is necessary
Great location Good views Excellent value
Some aspects of room could benefit from refurbishment.
View is awesome. Bellman service is friendly and helpful. Location
East tower is old and dirty. Staff sends back your packages, they seemingly don't like you receiving even small packages when staying there. Walls are thin, you listen to every sound next door. Pool was closed for maintenance, no warning on site.
On arrival we were upgraded to the new west wing, (35th floor) with wifi included. On entering the room we were greeted with a wonderful view of New York City skyscrapers. Rockerfella, Chrisler Centre & Empire State Building. We couldnt have wished for a better location for our first visit to this beautiful city. Absolutely breath taking. Staff were polite & helpful. Location was good, didn't want to be right in the centre of everything, only short walks away. Memorable time. Still dreaming about it!
Nothing - everything was perfect.
The view. And there was plenty of space in my room.
My only complaint is no free wifi and I had to pay just do print my boarding passes. That should just be typical customer service!
They overcharged my credit card by $200. Still trying to resolve with them
Very nice view from the hotel and very good location.
Very expensive internet for every devices . The hotel taking off too much money for deposit.
Carpets old and dirty. Room cold. Could not adjust heat sink and tub water collects goes down very slow
Staff was helpful
Cockroaches. Squeaky bed. Rude wake ups in the morning. Dirty bathroom
The View and the staff
To have to PAY for Wi Fi ; The Swimming Pool was out of commission and the carpets on the landing floor on the 34th floor need replacing; There was no mini bar and there was no tea-making facility
The location and views are wonderful. The breakfast and afternoon snacks were pleasant
Front desk needs serious improvement. Poor staffing of front desk and rude Front Desk Manager. Lots of things broken or not working in the room. Three lights not working and one of the shower options was not functioning. Pool was also out of commission. The keys kept erasing...and long waits to get them fixed.
The view The location Rooms always cleaned promptly
Bedroom in poor shape given price Bedroom needs refurbishment Being charged for using wi-fi Front of house staff fixate on tips
